Jethro Tull is quietly having one of its most successful years in recent memory. The legendary rock act is back on the charts this week with another collection, and this latest win continues what's quickly becoming a noteworthy streak. With two bestselling efforts in just the first half of 2025 alone, the band clearly maintains a solid fan base to this day, which is incredibly difficult for any group.
Jethro Tull's Songs From the Vault – 1975–1978 debuts at No. 17 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. The ranking, which tracks the U.K.'s top-selling full-lengths and EPs across all corners of the rock spectrum, is once again home to one of the more prolific names in progressive rock.
With Songs From the Vault, Jethro Tull earns its twenty-eighth appearance on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. Impressively, it's the act's second placement on the tally in 2025 alone. Just last month, the group's latest studio full-length Ruminations debuted at No. 1 on the same list. That effort spent five consecutive frames on the ranking before stepping aside—just in time for this archival project to take its place.
This week is a crowded one on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. But even so, Songs From the Vault still claims one of the top debuts of the week, coming in as the tenth-highest new title on the roster. The band lands just behind brand new releases from some of the genre's heaviest hitters, including Those Damn Crows, Epica, Rage Against the Machine, Black Sabbath, and Motörhead. Even Post Malone appears on the chart this frame in a first for the superstar.
Songs From the Vault is not another greatest hits repackage. The double LP, which was released as part of Record Store Day, features more than 20 tracks, many of which are making their vinyl debut. Pulled from recording sessions that took place across a pivotal four-year period, the collection highlights rarities, alternate versions, and deep cuts that hardcore fans will appreciate.

Black Sabbath Blocked From An Important New No. 1

Black Sabbath's Paranoid climbs to No. 2 on the U.K.'s Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, following ... More Ozzy Osbourne's death and a surge in fan consumption. Singer Ozzy Osbourne of the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath performs in 1974 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Michael) Following the death of Ozzy Osbourne earlier this month, fans of the heavy metal legend have demonstrated their grief by turning to streaming platforms and download storefronts to consume everything he left behind. That includes his solo work as well as the music he made as a member of Black Sabbath. That band, which recently played its final gig in Birmingham, England, sees multiple albums and songs soar on the charts in the United Kingdom. The group nearly scores a brand new No. 1 full-length, though it is blocked by an exciting new arrival. Paranoid Almost Hits No. 1 for the First Time Paranoid jumps to the runner-up spot on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. The project rockets from No. 14 to No. 2 in its two-hundred-and-thirty-sixth week on the ranking of the bestselling collections in those styles. Paranoid reaches its new high point this frame as it vaults up the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. The set almost claims the top spot, but British band Panic Shack keeps the pioneering group from reaching the summit during a very meaningful time. Panic Shack's debut full-length, a self-titled affair, opens at No. 1 this week. A Hit Decades in the Making Black Sabbath debuted Paranoid on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart in March 2002. The full-length was originally shared with the public in September 1970, so when it opened in ninth place more than three decades later, it was clear that Black Sabbath's popularity was still strong. Throughout its lifetime, Paranoid has spent 14 weeks inside the top 10. It even managed to appear inside the competitive space earlier this month, when it rose thanks to all the excitement around Black Sabbath's final performance. Black Sabbath Scores Multiple Top 10 Bestsellers Black Sabbath dominates the Official Rock & Metal Albums ranking at the moment, even though the group doesn't sit at No. 1. The outfit claims the Nos. 2 and 3 spots with Paranoid and The Ultimate Collection, respectively — both of which reach new best showings. Black Sabbath fills a total of seven spaces on the 40-spot roster, including a trio of top 10s.

Front L-R: Roger Waters, Rick Wright - posed, group shot (Photo by Andrew Whittuck/Redferns) Throughout the decades, Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon has sold tens of millions of copies around the world. These days, it can typically be found on rankings in many Western nations. In fact, it almost always appears on multiple tallies in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The album is so immensely successful that several versions have been released throughout the years, and fans snap them all up in large numbers. In the band's home country of the U.K., multiple editions of the blockbuster have reached several lists. A more recent version of The Dark Side of the Moon finds its way back to numerous charts at the same time while also flying onto others as it seems that interest in the rock collection may never dwindle. The Dark Side of the Moon on the U.K. Charts The Dark Side of the Moon can currently be found on four charts in the U.K., reappearing on two of them. The bestseller soars back onto both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums rankings, coming in at Nos. 94 and 99, respectively. The same Pink Floyd project also lives on the Official Album Downloads and Official Rock & Metal Albums charts. On the former — which looks at all genres and ranks the most downloaded full-lengths in the U.K. — The Dark Side of the Moon pushes north from No. 88 to No. 82. The classic is a non-mover at No. 18 on the list of the bestselling rock and metal titles in the country. Coincidentally, this take on The Dark Side of the Moon has now spent 18 weeks on that roster. Pink Floyd's Iconic Set Beats The Band's Newest Just two releases by Pink Floyd appear on the charts in the U.K. at the moment, and The Dark Side of the Moon is the only one that finds space on more than one roster. The group hit No. 1 on multiple tallies in the country earlier this year with At Pompeii - MCMLXXII, and while that live project has largely disappeared, it can still be found on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. It sits at No. 26 on that style-focused ranking, down from No. 19.

Taylor Swift's Country Roots Are Showing On The Charts

Taylor Swift's Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and her self-titled debut reenter Billboard's Top ... More Country Albums chart as fans revisit her early country days. LONDON, ENGLAND - FEBRUARY 20: Taylor Swift performs on stage The BRIT Awards 2013 at The O2, on February 20, 2013 in London, England. (Photo by JM Enternational/Redferns) There are rumors that Taylor Swift is working on a new album — possibly another massive pop collection. For now, the singer, her team, and her label are remaining mum on the subject, as is typically the case, as the world will hear from her when she's good and ready. As millions prepare for what may be another major pop moment, Swift's country roots are once again visible on the Billboard charts as fans revisit some of the earliest tunes in her discography, cuts and projects that helped turn her into the household name she is today. Two Swift Titles Return to the Top Country Albums Chart Swift fills two spaces on the Top Country Albums chart this week. Both of her titles return to Billboard's ranking of the most consumed country collections in the United States after being absent just last frame. Speak Now (Taylor's Version) reenters the tally at No. 48, while her self-titled debut project is back at No. 50, landing in the lowest rung on the roster. A Look Back at Taylor Swift's Country Beginnings Swift began her career with her self-titled effort, which dropped in 2006. That set — released when she was still just a teenager — produced hits like "Our Song" and "Teardrops on My Guitar" and quickly turned her into a household name. Speak Now (Taylor's Version) arrived in the summer of 2023 as part of her ongoing re-recording series, which may now be over. The updated take on Speak Now came 13 years after the original and featured slight reworkings, as well as previously unreleased tracks. Chart-Topping Success With Country Titles Taylor Swift and Speak Now (Taylor's Version) rank among the singer's eight No. 1s on the Top Country Albums chart. She's only missed the top spot with two projects, and one of them peaked at No. 2. Her self-titled full-length spent 24 weeks ruling the list, while Speak Now (Taylor's Version) managed only a pair of frames in first place. The original Speak Now, however, held on for a lucky 13 stays — her favorite number. Vinyl and Sales Charts At the moment, Speak Now (Taylor's Version) can only be found on the Top Country Albums chart, while Swift's self-titled effort is rising across multiple rankings this week. The full-length that started it all lifts to No. 14 on the Vinyl Albums roster and jumps 20 spots to No. 25 on the Top Album Sales list.
