Throughout the decades, Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon has sold tens of millions of copies around the world. These days, it can typically be found on rankings in many Western nations. In fact, it almost always appears on multiple tallies in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The album is so immensely successful that several versions have been released throughout the years, and fans snap them all up in large numbers.
In the band's home country of the U.K., multiple editions of the blockbuster have reached several lists. A more recent version of The Dark Side of the Moon finds its way back to numerous charts at the same time while also flying onto others as it seems that interest in the rock collection may never dwindle.
The Dark Side of the Moon on the U.K. Charts
The Dark Side of the Moon can currently be found on four charts in the U.K., reappearing on two of them. The bestseller soars back onto both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums rankings, coming in at Nos. 94 and 99, respectively.
The same Pink Floyd project also lives on the Official Album Downloads and Official Rock & Metal Albums charts. On the former — which looks at all genres and ranks the most downloaded full-lengths in the U.K. — The Dark Side of the Moon pushes north from No. 88 to No. 82. The classic is a non-mover at No. 18 on the list of the bestselling rock and metal titles in the country. Coincidentally, this take on The Dark Side of the Moon has now spent 18 weeks on that roster.
Pink Floyd's Iconic Set Beats The Band's Newest
Just two releases by Pink Floyd appear on the charts in the U.K. at the moment, and The Dark Side of the Moon is the only one that finds space on more than one roster. The group hit No. 1 on multiple tallies in the country earlier this year with At Pompeii - MCMLXXII, and while that live project has largely disappeared, it can still be found on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. It sits at No. 26 on that style-focused ranking, down from No. 19.

‘Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake' Continues To Look Really Lovely

The upcoming Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake still continues to impress and look lovely in its latest trailer. While the Western version of the Nintendo Direct omitted any mention of Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, the Japanese version covered the game quite a bit. Thankfully, Square Enix uploaded the trailer to their channel and in English, too. Unlike the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, this new instalment combines the first two games into one package. This makes sense, as the first two games were a lot shorter than the third game in the series. Moreover, Dragon Quest III was the narrative start of the original Erdrick trilogy, before Dragon Quest XI came along at least, and it makes sense storywise that the first two Dragon Quest games would follow the third for these remakes. It's also important to point out that in the first Dragon Quest, you only play as one character, that of Erdrick. Or, more accurately, the descendant that gets to use that name. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder The second game includes more characters for your group, but the first Dragon Quest is a more solitary endeavor, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out in this new remake. I am also loving the very British voice acting and dialogue. It fit really well for the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, and this looks to be just as good, if not better. The other big news is that Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will also be released on Switch 2, as well as the original Switch, which I think is great. Dragon Quest has a very Nintendo-specific heritage to it, and it just feels right that Nintendo's latest console would also be supported for a game like this. Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will be released on October 30 for Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, via Steam. Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube. I also manage Mecha Damashii and am currently featured in the Giant Robots exhibition currently touring Japan.

Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour in planning row with neighbours over new shed

Pink Floyd Guitarist David Gilmour has found himself embroiled in a row with his Hampstead neighbours over his choice of shed. The 79-year-old's planning application, filed retrospectively, has sparked letters of complaint from neighbours, mainly those whose gardens back onto his own. The green shed, which according to the application measures just under two-by-three metres, was built in the back corner of his garden to replace a previous shed and small 'summerhouse'. The chief objection comes from the Hampstead Hill Gardens Residents' Association, which argues that: 'The application should be rejected as the structure now in place is obtrusive, overbearing, and significantly more visually and physically intrusive than what was originally approved or what stood there before.' In its letter, published on Camden Council's planning website, the residents' group argues that the shed should have been built on the footprint of the original structures as agreed in planning permission issued in 2023, but that it is now a claimed two metres closer to the boundary fence, as first reported in the Camden New Journal. 'The decision we hope the Council will make is that it is removed as soon as possible to stop the continued harm to neighbourhood amenity,' it stated. 'We urge the Council to resist being misled by this retrospective rationalisation and to refuse this application. 'Allowing it would be a signal to all applicants that they can ignore the terms of their permissions.' A neighbour responding to the application also suggested that the fact the shed is now close to the fence means it cannot be blocked from view by vegetation. 'The applicant's garden is long and ours is very short which makes this stand out all the more. You can see why they want the shed at the fence but their gain is our loss,' the resident commented. The Hampstead Neighbourhood Forum has also asked for a gap behind the shed for wildlife to pass by and to provide space for plants. Another complaint from a Hampstead Hill Gardens resident stated: 'I noticed during the construction of the building that extensive foundations were being laid down for a building that claimed to be a mere garden shed. 'I then subsequently noticed the extensive landscaping around it. Both of these facts and its size indicate that the owners may have more ambitious and different uses for the building than that of a garden shed.' The application by Gilmour's household points out that: 'The replacement of these two buildings with a single well-designed new garden shed would have less impact than the previous arrangement.' 'The replacement shed is of traditional construction and has been carefully designed to be appropriate within the garden of this listed building. 'The shed is painted green to minimise its visual impact. As such, the modest size of the shed, good design and colouring mean that there would not be any harm to the setting of the listed building or that of neighbouring listed buildings. 'Nor would the proposal adversely impact the character of the conservation area.' The rocker has previously created a striking seaview mansion in Hove, East Sussex, and also once gave all the proceeds of a house sale in Maida Vale to a homelessness charity. Mr Gilmour has been contacted for comment.
