ESPN Reporter Fires Shocking Profanity-Laced Message at Yankees Fans

ESPN Reporter Fires Shocking Profanity-Laced Message at Yankees Fans originally appeared on Athlon Sports. If you're a New York Yankees fan upset with the club's current state, don't take your complaints to ESPN's Jeff Passan. Advertisement To say that Passan doesn't want to hear them is an understatement. Passan didn't hold back in expressing his frustration and disgust with Yankees fans on Monday afternoon. "When I hear Yankees fans complain, I'm like, 'Shut the [expletive] up," Passan said on the "Max Mannis Podcast." Although there is nothing inherently wrong with profanity, it's nonetheless shocking to hear Passan—a longtime MLB insider who is arguably the face of ESPN's MLB coverage—deliver such commentary about Yankees fans. ESPN had not issued a statement on Passan's comments as of publication. New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge interacts with fansJulian Leshay Guadalupe/ / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Mannix, who works for Jomboy Media, noted that the Yankees have long sold the "championship or bust" mentality. However, the Yankees have only won one World Series and two pennants since the start of 2004. Advertisement "You don't have to listen to them," Passan responded. "If that's going to ruin your experience as a sports fan ... If the Yankees say that, and that puts you in a place where you are disappointed or saddened every year, then maybe do something to take yourself out of that realm of disappointed and sadness." Aaron Judge and the Yankees enter Monday at 48-35 and hold a 1 1/2-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East. 'You're Not a Good Loser': Cooper Flagg's Mom Gets Real About Mavericks Rookie

'You're Not a Good Loser': Cooper Flagg's Mom Gets Real About Mavericks Rookie originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Dallas Mavericks' decision to select Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft didn't come as a surprise. He was already considered the consensus top pick even before he started his collegiate career, and he only further separated himself from the rest of the class in his lone season at Duke. Advertisement In 37 games with Duke in the 2024-25 season, the 18-year-old Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks. He helped lead the Blue Devils to the Final Four, putting up 21.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 blocks during the NCAA Tournament. While Cooper Flagg's shooting and ball-handling leave much to be desired, he's expected to make an immediate impact on the Mavericks on both ends of the floor. However, the youngster's skills and physical tools are not the only things that make him a good fit for the Mavericks. According to his mother, Kelly Flagg, his mentality and attitude also align well with Dallas. Kelly Flagg, mother of Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg opens up about her son's personal Wachter-Imagn Images In a recent interview they did in partnership with Chime, Cooper Flagg and Kelly Flagg talked about the Mavericks' desire to win a championship immediately, which bodes well for the so-called "Maine Event" himself. As Kelly Flagg noted, her son doesn't like losing. Advertisement "Something that I'm most excited about being a Dallas Maverick would be going to an organization that, I think, is in a mode that is ready to win," Cooper Flagg stated. "Kind of looking forward to that of being a team that can be competitive and have a lot of really good pieces and really good players I can learn from." His mom then chimed in, saying, "They want to win a championship as much as you do, and you're not a good loser, and that's a win for us." It remains to be seen how much of an impact Cooper Flagg will make in his first year with the Mavericks, but his latest take and his mom's remarks should certainly raise hopes that he will be a big difference-maker for Dallas. Advertisement For what it's worth, prior to the NBA Draft, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James took note of Cooper Flagg's ability and expressed his belief that the former Duke standout "wants to be great." Giancarlo Stanton Concerns Mount After Latest Yankees Loss

Giancarlo Stanton Concerns Mount After Latest Yankees Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It might be time to start worrying about New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton yet again. Advertisement Thankfully for the Yankees, the latest concerns have nothing to do with his health ... we think. As far as we know, Stanton feels well enough following his bout with tennis elbow in both arms to play most days. Instead, the issue is with Stanton's lack of power. The five-time All-Star has no home runs and only a single double in his first 42 plate appearances. Stanton's .270 slugging percentage is easily a career-low, though he's at least reaching base at a .333 clip. In fairness, no one should have expected Stanton to leave the injured list and suddenly resemble Aaron Judge or Shohei Ohtani. He's a 35-year-old injury-prone slugger who missed nearly three months with arm injuries. New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo StantonWendell Cruz-Imagn Images That doesn't mean the Yankees shouldn't start sweating. Perhaps the only positive about Stanton's presence, given his age and the fact that he no longer plays the field, is his power stroke. Advertisement Remember, Stanton mashed like his old self last October, blasting seven home runs with a 1.048 OPS in 62 postseason plate appearances. He also homered in 5.9% of his regular-season at-bats, trailing only Aaron Judge among full-time starters. This year? Not even close—literally. We'll see if Stanton starts July with some home runs, especially as the Yankees look to leave their June swoon behind them. The 48-36 Yankees hold a 1 1/2-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays following Monday's loss to the Toronto Blue Jays.
