Projected starting Notre Dame offensive lineman injured in UTV crash. What we know

Notre Dame offensive lineman Charles Jagusah fractured the humerus bone in his left arm in a UTV crash in Wyoming on Saturday, the university said in a statement.
Jagusah has undergone surgery and the initial prognosis is favorable, according to the school, which added that he will return to campus early this week for "further evaluation and continued care." No further timeline was provided.
The 6-foot-7, 333-pound sophomore is an expected starter at guard for the Fighting Irish.
Though this incident came far away from the football field, it marks the second consecutive season that Jagusah has suffered a serious injury.

Prior to the start of the 2024 season, the former top-100 recruit tore his right pectoral muscle during training camp. He missed the entire regular season, but returned for Notre Dame's run in the College Football Playoff, filling in for Rocco Spindler at right guard in a semifinal victory against Penn State and starting at left tackle in a loss to Ohio State in the national championship game.

How much is Florida football's program worth? The Athletic ranks FBS teams by valuation

College football is a big business these days. In fact, the sport is among the biggest cash printers out there when it comes to the entertainment industry, creating billions of dollars of revenue every year. With NIL now here and the collegiate gridiron turned into a de facto professional league, one might wonder how much each school's program is worth as a whole — like how pro sports franchises have a value based on the fiscal aspects of the entity. The Athletic's Matt Baker attempted to answer this query in his rankings of every Power 4 team by how much they'd sell for, in which he put together some numbers based on what we know about the business side of these operations. Of course, he offers the following caveat: "Do not take our numbers to the bank, literally or metaphorically. Instead, consider this a fun attempt at blending back-of-the-envelope math with common sense to price college programs like their professional peers — an exercise that's theoretical for now … but might not be much longer," Baker warns. So, where do the Florida Gators stand in these data? Florida football's valuation, ranking per The Athletic According to Baker's math, the Gators are the 12th most-valuable program in the country and seventh most-valuable in the Southeastern Conference. "The Gators are also pursuing a major stadium upgrade that would significantly change the revenue picture; in January, the chairperson of the university's board of trustees publicly floated a $1 billion price tag for the project," he offers. It is also noted that Florida's average annual football revenue is $98.5 million. However, Baker's counterpoint has been a source of agony for the Orange and Blue faithful. "Florida's downside remains its on-field product. USC is the only other program in our top 12 that has never made the College Football Playoff, and the Gators have suffered through four consecutive seasons without finishing ranked." SEC schools among top-30-ranked program values A full dozen of the conference's 16 member schools cracked the top 30 of The Athletic's college football program valuations, with the Gators sitting near the midpoint at No. 7 among SEC programs. The Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs occupy the two top spots in the league as well as overall, respectively, while the Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 6 overall, No. 3 in SEC), Oklahoma Sooners (No. 7 overall, No. 4 in SEC), Tennessee Volunteers (No. 9 overall, No. 5 in SEC) and LSU Tigers (No. 10 overall, No. 6 in SEC) round out the top 10. After Florida follow the Auburn Tigers (No. 13 overall, No. 8 in SEC), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 15 overall, No. 9 in SEC), Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 23 overall, No. 10 in SEC), Ole Miss Rebels (No. 25 overall, No. 11 in SEC) and South Carolina Gamecocks (No. 257 overall, No. 12 in SEC). Notre Dame 2027 QB target Teddy Jarrard will commit later this week on July 24th

It was announced last week by 2027 Georgia quarterback Teddy Jarrard that he has narrowed down his list to just five schools with Notre Dame making the cut. The Irish won't have to wait long to find out if they'll add the 6-foot, 3-inch and 200-pounders to their 2027 class, as on Monday he announced that he will be making his commitment just a few days from now, on July 24th. The other four teams Jarrard is considering are Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State, as he is looking to shut down the process early. It worked out well for Notre Dame at their 2026 quarterback commit Noah Grubbs, who also opted to end his recruitment extremely early. There is more than enough positive momentum for the Irish, as there has been a few insiders that believe the Blue and Gold will win out for Jarrard. Jarrard has done extremely well during the camp circuit this spring and summer, and has made a jump in recruiting rankings since then. He's currently the No. 195 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite, and would be a great addition to Notre Dame's 2027 recruiting class. Notre Dame will be one of four teams to compete in the 2026 Jax Baseball Classic

Notre Dame will be one of four teams participating in the 2026 Jax Baseball Classic, which will be an early test for them next spring. The Fighting Irish will compete with 2025 national champion LSU, UCF and Indiana in one of the premier early-season tournaments. The event will be held February 20-22 at VyStar Ballpark in Jacksonville, home of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Each team will play the other three opponents once across the weekend slate in a round-robin style tournament. Past Jax Baseball Classic champions include Alabama in 2025 and Virginia in 2024. The weekend will reunite UCF head coach Rich Wallace with the Irish. He spent three seasons with the team from 2020-22. Notre Dame finished the 2025 season with a 32-21 record, including a 14-16 mark in ACC play, and missed the postseason. The Irish picked up an intriguing grad transfer over the weekend in Andrew Graham, a Division II All-American who hit .446 with 14 home runs and 78 RBI in 2025.
