Paris prosecutor opens investigation into Hamraoui's harassment claims against PSG

Washington Post17-06-2025
PARIS — The Paris public prosecutor's office said on Tuesday that an investigation has been opened based on former Paris Saint-Germain player Kheira Hamraoui's allegation of moral harassment against the soccer club.
Hamraoui lodged the complaint in May, when French media reported that the midfielder claimed she had been subjected to a campaign of insults, threats, denigration and cyber-harassment by several teammates. She now plays in Saudi Arabia for Al-Shabab.

Olympic gold medalist Zheng Qinwen pulls out of the US Open after elbow surgery

NEW YORK (AP) — Olympic gold medalist Zheng Qinwen withdrew from the U.S. Open on Monday, two days after announcing she had arthroscopic surgery on her right elbow because of 'persistent pain.' The sixth-ranked Zheng was coming off a first-round loss at Wimbledon last month. 'Over the past months, I've been dealing with persistent pain in my right elbow during training and matches,' the right-handed 22-year-old from China said on social media Saturday. 'Despite trying various treatments to manage it, the discomfort never fully went away.' Zheng said she anticipated her recovery would take months, so the exit from the year's last Grand Slam tournament was not a surprise. The U.S. Open begins Aug. 24. She was replaced in the field by France's Leolia Jeanjean. ___ AP tennis:

Texans sign veteran corner Arthur Maulet

The Texans kick off training camp in Houston this week and have added another depth piece ahead of camp. According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans and veteran cornerback Arthur Maulet have agreed to terms on a contract. Maulet has four career interceptions and has played in a total of 85 career games with multiple teams. Maulet had a strong 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens as a slot corner and blitzer, but was limited to three games in 2024 due to injuries. Maule, who is looking to repeat 2023 in Houston, has a shot to come in and compete for a depth spot in a strong Texans secondary.
