Akhanda Godavari Project marks a significant milestone: Pawan Kalyan
East Godavari (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 26 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan on Thursday said that the Akhanda Godavari Project marks a significant milestone in the cultural, spiritual, and economic potential of the Godavari region.
Earlier in the day, he and Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat performed bhumi puja for the 94 crore project on the banks of the river Godavari in Rajamahendravaram City here.
'Respected Hon'ble Union Minister Sri @gssjodhpurJi (Gajendra Singh Shekhawat), It was an honour to have you in Rajamahendravaram for the foundation stone ceremony of the Akhanda Godavari Project. This project marks a significant milestone in the cultural, spiritual, and economic potential of the Godavari region,' Kalyan said in a post on X.
Kalyan also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
'From rejuvenating the historic Havelock Bridge to transforming Pushkar Ghat, and creating enriching experiences like the Kadiyam Nursery Centre, the Nidadavole Temple development shows a deep commitment to development and preserving our heritage. With the 2027 Godavari Pushkarams in sight, this effort will truly redefine cultural heritage tourism in Andhra Pradesh's progress. My heartfelt thanks to Hon'ble Prime Minister Sri @narendramodi Ji and the @MinOfCultureGoI @tourismgoi for the constant support from the Union Government in realising this dream project,' Kalyan said.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Shekhawat said that the project will boost heritage tourism, ushering in a new era for Godavari's spiritual and economic landscape. He added that the project will revitalise the iconic Havelock Bridge, redevelop Pushkar Ghat, create a Kadiyam Nursery Experience Centre, and enhance pilgrim infrastructure at Nidadavol.
'Wonderful to be in Rajamahendravaram along with Andhra Pradesh Dy CM Shri @PawanKalyan garu to participate in laying the foundation stone of the 'Akhanda Godavari' project,' Shekhawat said in a post on X.
'At a cost of 94.44 crore, this transformative cultural-tourism project under the SASCI scheme will revitalise the iconic Havelock Bridge, redevelop Pushkar Ghat, create a Kadiyam Nursery Experience Centre, and enhance pilgrim infrastructure at Nidadavolu. It will boost heritage tourism, ushering in a new era for Godavari's spiritual and economic landscape,' he added. (ANI)

"Solar energy is also being promoted along with green hydrogen. Work is being done on many alternative sources of energy. All these efforts have made India capable in the field of energy," he said. The Chief Minister said that many works have been done in the field of oil and natural gas. Gas pipelines are being expanded under One Nation, One Grid. The gas distribution system has been expanded and made more convenient than before. Bio CNG plants are being set up. Schemes like the Ujjwala have brought a revolution in society. Many policies have also been implemented for oil production. India has also increased investments in the oil and natural gas sector abroad, the Chief Minister said. He said ONGC has done many such works in Uttarakhand, which are benefiting the state. (ANI)

"Prayed for Viksit Delhi along with Viksit Bharat," Delhi CM offers prayers at Uttar Pradesh's Banke Bihari Temple
Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 29 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday offered prayers at Uttar Pradesh's Shri Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, where she wished for a 'Viskit Delhi' along with a 'Viskit Bharat.' 'I prayed that we have a Viksit Delhi along with Viksit Bharat. The nation may progress... We may work for Delhi with all our capacity,' the Chief Minister told ANI. Chief Minister Gupta was in Mathura district for a Govardhan Parikrama, a 21-kilometre-long pilgrimage to and around the Govardhan mountain. Prior to Parikrama, the Delhi Chief Minister, speaking to ANI on Friday, said, 'Today we have come for Govardhan Parikrama with our team. We will also have darshan of Banke Bihari... While addressing a meeting in Mathura, CM Gupta highlighted initatives for the people in the dairy sector to ensure that cow dung does not pollute the Yamuna river, mentioning initiatives for the diary colonies and other developmental projects in Delhi. 'We will not only build new cow sheds, but we will also provide all the facilities to all the dairy colonies. We have already started setting up 4 CNG bio projects in Delhi... We have taken this initiative to utilise cow dung properly. We will establish as many CNG bio projects as needed for the city of Delhi within two years, so that even a small amount of cow dung will not be carried to the Yamuna River and harm it,' she said. The Govardhan mountain is situated at a distance of 25 km from Mathura on the Mathura-Deeg road. According to the legend, Lord Krishna kept this mountain (Giriraj Parvat) on his little finger (finger) for seven days and nights to save the Brajwasis from the fierce rains and storms caused by the anger of Indra, the king of the gods. Jaipur's green lung in peril: AAP MP Sanjay Singh seeks PM Modi's intervention to save Dol ka Badh forest
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 29 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in saving Jaipur's Dol Ka Badh forest from destruction. The Rajasthan government plans to convert the forest into a commercial hub, featuring a Prime Minister's Unity Mall, a Fintech Park, and hotels, which would involve cutting down approximately 2,400 trees. Sanjay Singh, in a letter to PM Modi, mentioned that the project is against the 'ideology' of PM Modi's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' mission and would harm the natural form and ecological balance of the area, exacerbating Jaipur's already poor air quality and destroying habitats of various plant and animal species. 'Currently, there are plans to convert this invaluable heritage into construction works like Pradhan Mantri Ekta Mall, Fintech Park and Hotels etc., which is extremely harmful to the natural form and ecological balance of this area. It is very sad that the Rajasthan government is cutting 2400 trees in your name. This is completely opposite to your ideology of 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'. Trees are being cut here in your name, which is very sad', Sanjay Singh wrote in his letter. Furthermore, Sanjay Singh mentioned that the 'Dol Ka Baad' forest region is home to 85 bird species, some of which are on the verge of extinction, and diverse biodiversity, making it an invaluable part of Jaipur's environment. The AAP MP highlighted that 'Dol ka Baad' is not just a forest area but an 'invaluable part of Jaipur's environment.' 'I would like to draw your attention to a very important environmental issue, which is related to the protection of Jaipur's historic, ecological and biodiversity-rich urban forest area called 'Dol Ka Baad'. This area is home to approximately 2,400 lush green trees, 85 bird species, some of which are on the verge of extinction, and diverse biodiversity. It is not just a forest area, but an invaluable part of Jaipur's environment', Sanjay Singh's letter read. Since 2021, local citizens and environmentalists have proposed transforming the forest into a biodiversity park, which would feature structures such as a Climate Justice Centre, an Herbal Research Zone, an Environmental Education Centre, and a Biodiversity Museum. This would not only protect the environment but also contribute to sustainable economic development. Since 2021, local citizens, social organisations, and environmentalists have been working continuously to protect this area. This movement is not being fought by any political party, but by the common citizens of Jaipur. A people's movement called 'Save Dol Ka Badh' is actively working to conserve the Dol Ka Badh forest area and has submitted a proposal to the government for a biodiversity park as a positive solution. It includes structures like Climate Justice Centre, Herbal Research Zone, Environmental Education Centre and Biodiversity Museum, which will not only protect the environment but will also be effective in local public interest', Sanjay Singh asserted. Earlier on June 7, Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed support for the youth protesting against the proposed felling of trees, emphasising the need to prioritise nature, environment, and wildlife protection. He urged the state government to adopt a softer approach and engage in dialogue with the protesters Addressing the young protesters, the Congress leader urged the state government to adopt a softer approach and engage in dialogue. 'I have spoken to all the people here. Everyone here says that we are not opposed to development; they want investments and support for the government's schemes. But they believe that, which I also agree with, if we can protect nature, the environment, and animals, then that should be our first priority,' Pilot stated. 'I think the government should adopt a soft attitude on this and should communicate... I am with the passion of the youth who are here to protect the ecosystem and ecology,' he added. His comments align with the Adivasi Congress's stance, which described Dol Ka Badh as 'not just a forest but a symbol of biodiversity, traditional lifestyle and environmental balance', warning that destroying it for projects like the PM Unity Mall threatens future generations. Hundreds of citizens, including students, environmentalists, and social workers, have participated in protests, rallies, and demonstrations to raise awareness about the issue and demand protection for the forest.
