UFC Vegas 105: Trending Fighter Could Be Fighting For Her Job
Diana Belbita, a 28-year-old Romanian fighter with a 15-9 overall record.
She was the top trending fighter early Friday evening after successfully weighing in for her fight on Saturday against Dione Barbosa.
Belbita will battle Barbosa on the early prelims, and per Tapology, the former is a massive underdog at plus-700. The biggest underdogs on the card will often draw tons of search traffic because bettors are checking to see if there is potential for a huge win.

Belbita is in a tough spot. She's currently on a two-fight losing streak, and she's already lost twice to Molly McCann, a fighter who recently hung up the gloves following a submission loss at UFC London.
A third consecutive loss for Belbita would make her a prime candidate for separation from the UFC. Belbita's predicament gets even tougher when you consider her opponent. Barbosa is also hungry.

While she lost her last fight, a unanimous decision to Miranda Maverick in July 2024, Barbosa had won four straight before that setback, and an injury kept her out of the Octagon.
Barbosa is expected to win because she is the massively superior grappler, and Belbita has struggled with submission defense throughout her career. McCann, who has also struggled with her submission defense, defeated Belbita via armbar in the latter's last fight.
Pitted against someone like Barbosa, this fight has all the makings of a first-round submission win for the Brazilian. If you're looking for a potential route to an upset for Belbita, it's tough to find one.
She's only won one fight in her career via strikes, and the last time that happened was in 2018—well before she made it to the UFC. Perhaps she'll pull a rabbit out of her hat on Saturday, but it's not something I'd bet on.
Here is a look at the updated fight card with weigh-in results.
Here are all of the official weights for Saturday's event which begins at 6 pm ET on ESPN Plus, per UFC.com.
*Cortavious Romious weighed in above the bantamweight limit of 136 pounds. He forfeits 20% of his purse to his opponent.
**The bantamweight bout between Davey Grant and Daniel Santos has been cancelled.
Be on the lookout for post-event coverage on Saturday night with results, bonus winners and fallout.

UFC signs former GLORY title challenger Yousri Belgaroui for Azamat Bekoev showdown
After two appearances on Dana White's Contender Series, Yousri Belgaroui will finally make the walk to the octagon. Belgaroui (8-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) takes on Azamat Bekoev (20-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in a middleweight bout at a UFC Fight Night event on Oct. 18 from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, promotion officials announced Monday. The pair were originally in discussions to fight at Saturday's UFC on ESPN 71 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, but the bout was scrapped due to Belgaroui's visa issues. Belgaroui, 33, split his two appearances on DWCS. In his second attempt at a UFC contract, the former GLORY Kickboxing title challenger scored a late TKO of Taiga Iwasaki at DWCS 71 this past September, but still wasn't awarded a deal. Belgaroui fought both former UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira in kickboxing, but lost to both of them. Bekoev, 29, is on a an eight-fight win streak. The former LFA champion finished both Zach Reese and "The Ultimate Fighter," Season 32 winner Ryan Loder by first-round TKO in the UFC. With the addition, the UFC Vancouver lineup includes:

Paul Felder criticizes Ilia Topuria for preferring vacating over fighting Arman Tsarukyan
Paul Felder is tired of UFC champions not fighting the rightful No. 1 contenders. Felder was particularly talking about UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC), who said he'd vacate the title before fighting Arman Tsarukyan (23-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC). Felder acknowledges it may be gamesmanship by Topuria, but can't help but be baffled by this mindset. "The guy's the No. 1 contender," Felder said of Tsarukyan on the "Believe You Me" podcast. "And to say that you would rather relinquish the belt than fight him is? Come on, man. We're getting a little carried away. We've talked about this before where these guys in this generation of fighters, when they get to this top position now, are so willing to jump around weight classes and and try to deny fighting guys. "It's like, that's not how it f*cking works, man! If the guy's No. 1 and the UFC says, 'This is the guy,' you're the champ. You're holding that belt. That's who you fight. If you're the best and he's not on your level and all this kind of stuff, then prove it! Just go out there and prove it. I hate that, and I'm not saying that I think that he doesn't think he could beat him." Granted, Tsarukyan will likely have to fight one more time after withdrawing from his title fight against Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 in January. Topuria recently said he thinks his first title defense will be against either Justin Gaethje or Paddy Pimblett, but Felder is irked by "El Matador" ruling Tsarukyan out of the equation. "I hate it. I was like, come on, man, here we go," Felder said. "Here we go again. Now you've got a champion who's just looking for the biggest thing. Look, the UFC is not going to try to put you in a position that's not going to be a big thing."

UFC Vegas 108 Main Event Odds, Picks, Predictions: Taira Vs. Park
This Saturday, the UFC is back at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for the first time since late May. The fight promotion blows the dust off the facility for UFC Vegas 108. The August 2 UFC Fight Night is headlined by a short-notice main event that finds Tatsuro Taira taking on Hyun Sung Park in a flyweight scrap. We look at the betting odds, picks, and predictions for the UFC Vegas 108 main event matchup. The UFC Vegas 108 full fight card airs on ESPN and ESPN+. The preliminary card for the UFC Fight Night event begins at 6 p.m. ET. The main card follows at 9:00 p.m. ET. UFC Vegas 108 Main Event: Tatsuro Taira vs. Hyun Sung Park Tatsuro Taira (16-1) rose through the UFC flyweight ranks fairly quickly. He joined the UFC in May 2022 with a record of 10-0, and after winning the Shooto flyweight title. Taira opened his UFC career with a unanimous decision win over Carlos Candelario in May 2022. He followed that with back-to-back submission wins in contests where he earned 'Performance of the Night' bonuses, defeating C.J. Vergara and Jesús Santos Aguilar. Wins over Edgar Chairez and Carlos Hernandez in 2023 followed. In June, Taira got the first true test of his UFC career when he faced Alex Perez in a main event on a UFC Fight Night card at the Apex. At the time, Taira was the No. 13 ranked fighter in the UFC's flyweight division, and Perez, who had fought Deiveson Figueiredo for the UFC 125-pound title in 2020, was ranked No. 5. The fight ended when Taira took the back of his opponent in the center of the Octagon and forced him to the mat, putting enormous pressure on Perez's knee and causing an injury that brought the fight to a halt in the second stanza. From all appearances, and judging from his comments after the victory, the move that finished the contest was a designed technique. That win put Taira at No. 5 in the UFC rankings, earning him a shot at former UFC flyweight title challenger Brandon Royval, who entered the October 2024 contest as the No. 1 ranked in the UFC's 125-pound division. Royval and Taira put on a 'Fight of the Night' bonus-winning scrap, but the more experienced Royval took home the split-decision win, handing Taira the first loss of his professional career. The 25-year-old Taira is currently the No. 6 ranked UFC flyweight. Hyun Sung Park (10-0) won Road to UFC in early 2023 with a knockout of Seung Guk Choi. He followed that with a knockout of Shannon Ross in late 2023. Park did not compete in 2024 having had fights against Andre Lima and Nyamjargal Tumendemberel cancelled. He returned to the Octagon in March, scoring a first-round submission win over Carlos Hernandez at UFC Vegas 106. I wrote of the 29-year-old at the time, 'HyunSung Park looked excellent at UFC Vegas 106, moving to 3-0 in the UFC's flyweight division. Park used effective striking to hurt Carlos Hernandez against the fence. That striking made Hernandez move to the clinch, but Park showed his overall MMA ability in scoring a takedown, which led to a back take and a rear naked choke sub at 2:26 of Round 1. The 29-year-old Park looks ready for a test in his next outing as he has picked up three finishes in three UFC outings.' He gets that test in a big way and on short notice on Saturday night. Park has only gone the distance once in his MMA career. UFC Vegas 108 Main Event: Tatsuro Taira Vs. Hyun Sung Park Opening Odds And Betting Line Movement When BetOnline announced its opening odds for Taira vs. Park, Taira was the -300 betting favorite over the +240 Park. Today, Taira is listed at -355 by the site, while Park is the +280 betting underdog. UFC Vegas 108 Main Event Tale Of The Tape: Tatsuro Taira Vs. Hyun Sung Park Age: 25 Height: 5'7' Reach: 70' Stance: Orthodox Age: 29 Height: 5'7' Reach: 66' Stance: Orthodox UFC Vegas 108 Main Event Predictions And Picks: Tatsuro Taira Vs. Hyun Sung Park The good news heading into this fight is that Park is not coming into UFC Vegas 108 fully unprepared. He was booked opposite Steve Erceg for next week's UFC Vegas 109 card, so he will at least face Taira with most of a fight camp behind him. However, that fight was scheduled for three rounds, while this contest is a five-round affair. Taira is a good striker, he is better on the mat. However, he is aware how fights are scored, so he'll engage in striking before moving to his grappling. Park, on the other hand looks to grapple first. Taira is the more well-rounded fighter in this contest and that will allow him to carry the day. The pick is for Taira to win via stoppage. I see him scoring a knockdown against Park, but I'm unsure if the finish will be more strikes or if Taira follows things to the ground to get the sub. Considering Taira's grappling skills, go with the submission. We will have more on the UFC Vegas 108 fight card as fight night nears, including live results, reactions, highlights and more on fight night.
