RM8 Mln CBT Trial Of Vivy Yusof, Husband To Begin On April 13, 2026
Judge Rosli Ahmad set the trial dates for April 13 to 17, May 18 to 22, and June 8 to 12, 2026.
'The trial will run for 15 days, and the court has set the next case mention for Oct 27,' said Rosli.
Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin requested the court fix the trial dates agreed upon by both the prosecution and defence. Lawyer M. Athimulan is representing the couple.
Wan Shaharuddin told the court that the prosecution will call 26 witnesses to testify.
The accused, both 37, were not present in court today as their attendance had been exempted.
On Dec 5 last year, Vivy and Fadzarudin pleaded not guilty to a charge of committing CBT in their capacity as directors of FashionValet Sdn Bhd. They were accused of misappropriating investment funds entrusted to them by Khazanah and PNB by transferring RM8 million from FashionValet Sdn Bhd's company account to 30 Maple Sdn Bhd without the approval of FashionValet's board of directors.
The offence was allegedly committed at Public Bank Berhad, Bukit Damansara Branch, 36-40 Medan Setia 2, Plaza Damansara, Bukit Damansara, here, on Aug 21, 2018.
The charge, framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same Code, provides for a minimum sentence of two years and a maximum of 20 years in jail, whipping, and a fine upon conviction.

JOHOR BARU: A honey product trader lost more than RM100,000 after being lured into investing in a cattle-rearing project in Thailand by a businessman with a 'Datuk' title. Mazli Hamzah, 37, said he first met the businessman in 2024 and exchanged contact numbers with him for business networking purposes. 'In March this year, he called me saying he wanted to meet as he was interested in helping grow my business, including marketing my product overseas. Mazli added that he was initially sceptical about the offer, but the man, who is in his 40s, later brought him to meet a Tabung Haji officer at Menara Tabung Haji in the city centre. He claimed that both men mostly discussed the cattle-rearing project, which convinced him that it was a legitimate business opportunity. 'Earlier this month, I handed the businessman more than RM100,000. Soon after that, he kept asking me for more money, which made me suspect that he just wanted my money. 'Everything was done verbally, with no black-and-white agreement between us. However, he did provide me with a receipt after I gave him the money to invest,' he said. Mazli added that he continued calling the businessman for updates on the investment, but his calls and WhatsApp messages went unanswered. 'I then went to his restaurant in Bandar Dato Onn and saw him sitting a few tables away. I called his mobile phone, which he glanced at but ignored. 'When I approached him, he saw me and immediately left the restaurant,' he said, adding that he has since lodged a police report. It is learnt that the businessman was fined RM200,000 by the Sessions Court here last year for using a fake 'Datuk' title from Pahang. He had admitted to fraudulently using a letter of endorsement for recipients of a degree, medal or award from Pahang Darul Makmur, believed to be a fake document. The businessman also pleaded guilty to an alternative charge of displaying the Darjah Indera Mahkota Negeri Pahang emblem on his vehicle at the same time and place, which was also believed to be fake. When contacted, Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat confirmed that a police report had been lodged and said investigations were ongoing. He added that the case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.

Two brothers plead not guilty to kidnapping and assault in Puchong
SHAH ALAM: Two brothers pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court today to charges of kidnapping and voluntarily causing hurt to a man in Puchong last week. V. Kirtik Ram, 19, a lorry attendant, and his brother V. Theshvinram, 18, a despatch rider, were jointly accused of abducting a 21-year-old local man with intent to wrongfully confine him. The charge under Section 365 of the Penal Code carries a maximum penalty of seven years' imprisonment and a fine. A second charge under Section 323 for voluntarily causing hurt could result in a one-year jail term, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both. The alleged offences occurred at Jalan Persiaran Permai, Bukit Puchong, at 6.38 pm on July 22. The court granted bail at RM5,000 each for the kidnapping charge and RM2,000 each for causing hurt. For the second charge, they were jointly charged under Section 323 of the same law with voluntarily causing hurt to the same individual. They face a maximum prison sentence of one year, or a fine of up to RM2,000, or both if convicted of the offence. Both offences were allegedly committed at Jalan Persiaran Permai, Bukit Puchong, Puchong, near here at 6.38pm on July 22.
