Pakistani man charged with sodomy, sexual assault in Shah Alam
Muhammad Hassan pleaded not guilty to all charges, which were read out in Urdu before Judge Norazlin Othman.
The accused faces two counts of unnatural sex under Section 377C of the Penal Code, involving a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old boy.
The alleged incidents occurred on June 26 and May 18 near Section 27 in Shah Alam.
If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison and caning.
Additionally, Hassan was charged with robbing a 19-year-old of RM230 under Section 392 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 14 years, a fine, or whipping.
In the same proceedings, he was accused of sexually assaulting two boys, aged eight and 13, in May and June.
These charges fall under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, punishable by up to 20 years in prison and whipping.
Deputy public prosecutors Nurul Sofea Jaysal and Ruthra Raj Selvarajoo handled the case, while the accused remained unrepresented.
Hassan, through an interpreter, requested court-appointed legal aid, citing no family or contacts in Malaysia.
The court scheduled the next hearing for September 23 to finalise document submissions and legal representation. – Bernama

"So far, the police have recorded statements from three individuals, namely Dr Mahathir's grandson, a security guard and a maid. The police are also analysing the evidence received, including fingerprints, and this may take some time," he said. According to reports, the residence belonging to the former Prime Minister's grandson was broken into, resulting in the victim losing RM1.8 million worth of jewellery. It is understood that the incident was discovered by the maid at 3 pm last Wednesday after she found the gate at the back of the house had been cut and her employer's room was ransacked. Contractor charged with using false documents in RM50,000 claim
ALOR SETAR: A contractor pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here on Monday (July 28) to an alternative charge of using forged documents for claims worth RM50,000 eight years ago. Fakhruziyahdy Shaari, 53, was charged with using a set of forged documents regarding maintenance work on 16 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the Community Rehabilitation Centre, Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Camp in Kem Lapangan Terbang Sungai Petani on Nov 20, 2017. The charge, under Section 471 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 465, provides for a maximum jail term of two years or a fine, or both, upon conviction. Police investigate four reports from Dataran Merdeka rally
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed receiving four reports linked to the rally held at Dataran Merdeka on Saturday. One case involves an effigy resembling Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim being caned near the National Mosque, while the other three pertain to drone usage. Acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad stated that the effigy incident is being investigated under multiple laws, including the Sedition Act 1948, the Penal Code, and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. 'The case has been referred to the Classified Crime Investigation Unit in Bukit Aman,' he said during a press conference.
