While the "cryptic" online posts didn't confirm any exact details, fashion fans have shared their excitement over the potential return.
The beloved shop has gone through a rollercoaster few years but now looks to be making a highly-anticipated comeback.
Cryptic posts
Topshop posted a picture of a store hanger on Instagram earlier this week.
The beloved brand, which was purchased by Asos alongside Miss Selfridge in 2021, remained tight-lipped about the latest development.
It simply captioned the post: ""
The store's acquistion occurred after the collapse of its former owner Arcadia.
After purchasing both fashion outlets for a combined £330 million, Asos sold 75% in Topshop to the Danish holding company Heartland.
This deal, amounting to £135 million, also included a stake in Topshop's counterpart Topman.
Topshop recently confirmed it plans to open up stores again this year.
Michelle Wilson, MD at Topshop and Topman, told Drapers that the brand has something up its sleeve for August.
Pull&Bear Opens New Flagship Store at Silverburn: Fashion Fans Celebrate in Glasgow!
And with recent posts on the Topshop account hinting at a new development, this may not be far off.
Recently, the brand posted a series of tennis balls with Topshop printed on them in preparation for the upcoming Wimbeldon final.
"Game. Set. Topshop," the brand wrote in the caption of the cryptic post.
High street return
Topshop and Topman are set to return to the high street for autumn via a wholesale partner.
'We have something planned in August to bring Topshop back into real life again, with a more semi-permanent presence than the one-day pop-up,' the Managing Director said.
Why the high street still rules!
Fabulous' Fashion Director, Tracey Lea Sayer shares her thoughts.
I WAS 10 when I first discovered the utter joy of high-street shopping for clothes with my mum and nan.
Going into town on Saturday became a family tradition – a girls' day out we would look forward to all week.
My mum's favourite shop was M&S, where she would gaze at jackets with big shoulder pads and floral sundresses, while my nan would make a beeline for John Lewis and their classic coats and elegant court shoes.
I was all over Tammy Girl – Etam's little sister – and Chelsea Girl, which was later rebranded to high-street fave River Island.
I would spend hours in the changing rooms, watched keenly by my two cheerleaders, who gave the thumbs up – or thumbs down – on what I was trying on.
Frilly ra-ra skirts, duster coats, polka dot leggings, puff balls, boob tubes… I tried them all, often making my nan howl with laughter.
Fashion wasn't so fast back in the 1980s and every item was cherished and worn until it fell apart – literally – at the seams.
At 18, I went to art college and my tastes became more refined.
Extra cash from a part-time job in a bar meant I could move on to slightly more expensive stores, like Warehouse, Miss Selfridge and the mecca that was Topshop.
I knew at this point I wanted to work in fashion because the high street had totally seduced me.
One day, I wrote an article for a competition in a glossy mag about my love of retail therapy and my favourite LBD – and I won!
That led me to where I am today – Fashion Director of Fabulous.
It's not just me that loves the high street – big-name designers are fans, too. When Cool Britannia hit in the '90s, they all turned up in one big store.
Designers at Debenhams was a stroke of genius by Debenhams CEO Belinda Earl, designer Ben de Lisi and fashion director Spencer Hawken, who introduced diffusion ranges from John Rocha, Matthew Williamson and Betty Jackson, to name a few.
This meant we could all afford a bit of luxury and wear a well-known designer's signature style.
Years later, I hosted a night with Debenhams and Fabulous for 250 readers, who were in awe meeting all the designers. It was a real career highlight for me.
In 2004, H&M started rolling out their international designer collabs.
Karl Lagerfeld was first, followed by Roberto Cavalli, Marni, Stella McCartney, Maison Martin Margiela, Sonia Rykiel, Comme des Garçons, Balmain, Versace and many, many more. I could barely contain myself!
Then in 2007, Kate Moss launched her first collection with Topshop, with thousands queuing along London's Oxford Street.
I remember sitting behind Ms Moss and Topshop boss Philip Green at a London Fashion Week Topshop Unique catwalk show.
I had my three-year-old daughter, Frankie, in tow and we both made the news the next day after we were papped behind Kate, my supermodel girl crush.
At the time, the high street was on fire. Who needed designer buys when Mango stocked tin foil trousers just like the designer Isabel Marant ones and you could buy a bit of Barbara Hulanicki's legendary brand Biba from Topshop?
High street stores even started to storm London Fashion week.
Although Topshop Unique had shown collections since 2001, in 2013 River Island showed its first collection in collaboration with global superstar Rihanna, who was flown in by a friend of mine on a private jet. KER-CHING!
A whole new generation of high profile high street collabs followed.
Beyoncé created Ivy Park with Topshop's Philip Green and I even flew to LA for Fabulous to shoot the Kardashian sisters in their bodycon 'Kollection' for Dorothy Perkins.
I am pleased to say they were the absolute dream cover stars.
Fast forward to 2024 and while the high street doesn't look exactly like it did pre-Covid, it has made a gallant comeback.
Stores like M&S, Reserved and Zara, and designer collabs like Victoria Beckham X Mango and Rochelle Humes for Next are giving me all the feels.
The supermarkets have really come into their own, too, smashing it with gorgeous collections that look expensive, but at prices that still allow us to afford the weekly shop.
The last 30 years of high street fashion have been one big adventure for me. Bring on the next 30!
'In the shorter term that will be something with partner support and in the longer term we will do something standalone."
Wilson said she was "excited to see Topshop back in person" and said their collaboration "will surprise people".
In April this year, Topshop launched a pop-up at Defected Records and shoppers went wild for it.
They recorded a sale every three minutes, which Topshop bosses have said is proof that there is demand for the adored store.
Wilson added that they aren't trying to "recreate" the Topshop that millions knew and loved.
She explained that the clothing store will be given a 2025 makeover to allow it to compete with the current climate.
Shopper reactions
"This could be an Oasis level comeback!! Biblical," wrote one excited Instagram user.
"As someone who used to work in Topshop, this is everything," agreed another person.
"Desperately looking for clues…. Is this what we ALL are hoping for?!" commented a third fan.
"Please god get back and save the high street shopping experience," pleaded another shopper.
"The world is healing," joked another Topshop enthusiast.

Bryan Mbeumo offers fresh Man Utd hint as Ruben Amorim gets £10m boost

Manchester United remain keen on Bryan Mbeumo, who has continued to make it clear he wants the move, as player sales elsewhere benefit Ruben Amorim's budget this summer Manchester United's transfer business has firmly stalled with Matheus Cunha still their only major summer signing after he joined from Wolves for just over £60million earlier in the summer. Their attention is now on Bryan Mbeumo, who has excelled for Brentford, but they've seen two bids for the forward rejected and are yet to return with a third bid. The player himself wants the move but the Bees have not eased off their valuation. ‌ Ruben Amorim also has a number of players whom he needs to either back or more on. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho all headed out on loan last term but are back at Old Trafford despite not appearing to be part of the plan. ‌ Alejandro Garnacho is another man who could be on his way out as the club look to bolster their funds with a No 9 thought to be on their shopping list. A dire Premier League underlined the need to change the look of the squad and here's the latest news coming out of Manchester. Mbeumo's latest hint Mbeumo has liked Leny Yoro's Instagram post after he confirmed his return to United training in what is the latest hint that he's keen on making the switch. The Cameroonian has made no secret of his desire to move on and take up the opportunity at the Premier League giants, who are trying to land more firepower in a bid to get them back up the table. His latest move on Instagram has appeared to underline his motivation to move on. ‌ He liked Yoro's post despite the pair having no prior involvement as team-mates. The Frenchman put up a post that read: "ReUnited" alongside an image of him going through his paces and Mbeumo was among those to like the post, along with current Old Trafford stars Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot. Club banking £10m plus from sell-on fees United's summer business is being aided by the millions they are receiving from sell-on fees they previously included in deals with Alvaro Carreras - who never played a game for the club - due to bank them more than £7m. ‌ Newcastle have just signed Antony Elanga from Nottingham Forest, which has cost the Magpies £55m. As per the clauses inserted in the deal that took Elanga from Manchester to Nottingham, United will land 15 percent of profit on any deal. Given he moved for £55m, United are said to have picked up around £6m of the fee, reports The Telegraph. Former United left back Carreras is set to land them even more cash as he is on the verge of leaving Benfica to join Real Madrid for around £43m after an impressive year in Lisbon. He moved to Portugal 12 months ago for around £7m, which means Benfica will pocket around £36m of profit. 20 percent of that - £7.2m - will go to United and further bolster their summer budget. ‌ Juve agree Sancho fee Juventus have agreed a £17.3m deal with United for Jadon Sancho as the player looks for a way out of Old Trafford following Chelsea's decision to send him back after his loan move. According to La Stampa the Red Devils were holding out for closer to £25m for the former Borussia Dortmund man, who cost them £70m back in 2021, but have decided to ease on their demands in a bid to get the flop out the door. Sancho refused to budge on his £350,000-a-week wage when Chelsea considered signing him, meaning they pulled out of a deal as they refused to pay that much. His salary could still prove a major sticking point when it comes to negotiations with Juventus.

Fans rejoice as beloved Friends actor, 32, makes a surprising comeback

He once starred in one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time but Cole Sprouse, 32, has come a long way from his days on the Friends set. The former child star, who portrayed Ross Geller's son Ben in seven episodes of the beloved series, is now best known for his lead role in Netflix 's Riverdale. But it's another project that has fans rejoicing once again this week. Sprouse's side hustle is running a chaotic, cult-favorite Instagram account called @camera_duels, where he posts candid snaps of fans who try to secretly photograph him in public by snapping a photo of them back. The account became a viral sensation a couple of years ago but in June 2023 Sprouse stopped posting to it. 'It started because I was pissed off,' Cole previously told Wonderland magazine. 'I try to approach a lot of the strange trappings of celebrity and the culture with comedy… the actions and feelings and vibes that people put off when they're about to do something like that is so obvious and comical that it begs a duel.' The account was originally meant to shame people who tried to sneak photos without asking. But it has ironically turned into a bucket list item for fans with many admitting they now try to stage a stealth photo just to be featured. 'That was an oversight on my behalf,' Cole admitted. 'I should have seen that coming!' Now Sprouse is back posting to his Instagram. Last week he shared a rambling yet poetic takedown of a father in a Speedo snapping a photo of him at the beach. The caption included everything from commentary on the surveillance state to the unfortunate visibility of 'a 50+ shivering meatus' behind thin swimwear. Fans couldn't get enough and the post left followers fangirling over him. His account now boasts over 4.6million followers, with each post bombarded with fan messages. Sprouse played Ben for just seven episodes between 2000 and 2002 but suddenly disappeared from Friends without explanation. The real reason was because his character was written out as the show to focus more on Ross' relationship with Rachel and later, their daughter Emma. Still, despite his brief time on the show, the Friends fans have not let go. Fans have speculated that Ross may have lost custody of Ben off-screen, due to his increasingly erratic behavior. Sprouse himself has even joked about the theory, agreeing that Ross 'wasn't the most present father' during a previous GQ interview. In 2015, a Reddit user named D.F. Lovett hypothesized that Cole's character still existed but that Ross lost custody of him. 'Friends was on for ten seasons, but Ben doesn't show up in person after episode 12 of season eight,' the Reddit user posted. The post continued: 'He's only mentioned six times in the remaining 54 episodes after his last appearance. 'People like to give Ross the benefit of the doubt, wondering if perhaps he was a better father off-screen. Perhaps his children met but the audience never saw. 'The more likely answer is that he was such a deadbeat father that he completely faded away from his son's life, pretending to his family and so-called friends that he still saw a boy he barely knew.' Sprouse has also previously shared details of his time on set and admitted he had a major crush on Jennifer Aniston while filming Friends at just eight years old. 'I had a really, really hard time working with Aniston because I was so in love with her', he confessed to the New York Post. 'I was infatuated. I was speechless. I'd get all bubbly and forget my lines and go completely blank. It was difficult.' The role on Friends was Cole's first acting job where he starred without his twin brother, Dylan, because the sitcom didn't require both twins. Sprouse went on to star on Disney's The Suite Life of Zach and Cody with his brother before landing a role as Jughead in Riverdale after graduating from college. Sprouse said fans still regularly recognize him as Ben from Friends. 'Because Friends is on Netflix, there's renewed interest,' he explained in an interview with Marie Claire in 2022. 'People can call me 'Ben' on the street and I will turn around.'

Lorraine Kelly films show for ITV rival amid 'opening eyes' to new projects

Lorraine Kelly was away filming last month and it's now been reported that she was working on a 'big budget' travel show for Channel 4 ahead of changes to her ITV talk show TV presenter Lorraine Kelly is said to have filmed a "big budget" project for Channel 4 recently. Ahead of changes to her long-running ITV talk show next year, it's been teased that she's considering other options that she could explore. Lorraine, now 65, has fronted her eponymous show for more than a decade, with it having launched in 2010. It was however announced by ITV earlier this year that, from January next year, episodes will be reduced to 30 minutes. It was also revealed that the show will then only run for 30 weeks each year. ‌ Following the news, last month, Lorraine shared that she was away and teased that she was having "big filming adventures" in Norway. She said in a video message on Instagram: "I'm in the land of the midnight sun. It's absolutely glorious. It's a project that I've wanted to do for years and years, and finally it's actually happening. I'm heading really, really far north." ‌ It's now been reported by the Sun that Lorraine flew to the country last month to work on a travel show for Channel 4, rather than ITV. A source told the outlet that the broadcaster was "delighted" to have signed up Lorraine for the project. The source said it was "exciting" for her to do "something different" and to be back on location somewhere. They teased that amid the shake-up at ITV daytime shows, her "loyal" fans will support Lorraine "wherever she goes". ‌ They said: "Despite the apparent slight in the ITV daytime shake-up, Lorraine's loyal fanbase isn't to be underestimated and they will follow her wherever she goes. She's survived in this business a long time, and she's a master at rolling with the punches." It's also been reported by the outlet that the production role Head of Lorraine is being axed at ITV. It's claimed that her two producers are set to instead report to bosses on This Morning. The source said that it casts doubt on the future of the talk show and claimed that her current contract finishes next year. The source teased: "She's opening her eyes up to the many options available to her." ‌ ITV said in a statement: "We have always said that from January 2026, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will be three editorially distinct shows which will be produced by one team. These changes are not about the performance of the shows or the staff. We can assure our viewers that their favourite daytime shows will remain familiar to them on screen." Although best known for her work on ITV, Lorraine has appeared on other channels over the years too. It includes her having been on Channel 4's the Last Leg on several occasions and she mentioned the show on a podcast recently. She teased last month that she's able to be "a bit naughty" on shows away from ITV's Lorraine. As reported at the time, she said to Tom Kerridge on the Proper Tasty podcast: "40 years in TV last year was incredible. I got a BAFTA. 'Here's a BAFTA for being alive.' I thought, 'Hang on a minute, I'm not done yet'. "I think now I can be a lot cheekier. Because I've always been a bit naughty. Not so much in the morning, but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that." She teased: "You can be unleashed. And I quite like that. You do have to have a self-edit button and I'm finding mine is not operating as much as it should."
