Emmerdale villain Dr Crowley returning to ITV soap
Now, he is coming back to the show to seek revenge on Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
The villain was at the centre of many theories during his previous storyline with Joe.

James Hillier's character last appeared on the ITV soap on March 31.
Joe Tate hired the shady doctor to treat him and secure him a kidney transplant after being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.
Joe and Dr Crowley spiked Joe's half-brother, Noah Dingle, but he proved not to be a match.
Joe's paternal half-uncle, Caleb Miligan, was later found to be a match, so Joe took his kidney after Caleb was stabbed.
Dr Crowley transplanted it into Joe before fleeing the country, with it later revealed that he may have told Joe a fake name.
At the time of the storyline, Emmerdale viewers were full of theories surrounding the dodgy doctor.
A post was made on the r/Emmerdale Reddit page, one fan said: "I just find Dr Crowley such a weird addition to the show and Joe's storyline.
"Something is telling me that either he isn't really a doctor, or he has ties to the Tates.
"Why would he help Joe and go to so much length and secrecy to do so? How comes only Joe has seen him, and no one's seen him sneaking into home farm?"
They also questioned why the relationship between Joe and Crowley appeared to be "a bit closer than doctor and patient".

Another said: "He's probably just some dodgy private doctor willing to go to lengths as Joe is willing to pay."
However, others questioned whether he was a real doctor at all.
Now, the villain is on his way back to Emmerdale to exact revenge on Joe.
Spoilers for this week reveal that Joe wakes up in a makeshift hospital after being knocked out.
Dr Crowley is revealed to be watching over Joe, with the exact nature of his revenge unknown.
Some fans believe he has a connection to a character already on the show.
One said: "Omg it's the doctor that Kim's dating."
Another added: "I think Crowley is Kim's new interest."
Teasing the situation to The Sun, actor Ned Porteous, who plays Joe, spoke about the moment his character wakes up to see the doctor looking on.

He said: "[Joe's] very confused, very scared. A very powerless situation for Joe to be in."
On working with James again, he added: "He's a really, really lovely guy.

Traditional public service media should be more discoverable on YouTube
Its report, Transmission Critical: The Future of Public Service Media, says the Government should bring forward legislation to help 'ensure that PSM content is prominent and easy to find on the platforms, and on fair commercial terms.' The regulator and competition authority has made a number of recommendations in its action plan that is seeking 'urgent clarity from the Government on how TV will be distributed to reach audiences in the future.' Group director for broadcasting and media at Ofcom, Cristina Nicolotti Squires, told the PA news agency: 'We've called it (the report) Transmission Critical because we think that public service media is under real threat. 'Broadcasters are experiencing quite tough financial challenges. The business model changes with audiences fracturing everywhere.' According to research from Barb, which is responsible for calculating UK TV official viewing figures, viewing on linear channels has fallen significantly in recent years and this decline is expected to continue. The report says that public service broadcasters (PSBs) will have to work 'much harder to create content that audiences want to watch' on platforms like YouTube as 'they are competing with every other content creator in the world.' Ms Nicolotti Squires said: 'We're not saying they have to go on YouTube, but we're just saying that public service broadcasters have got to make great content where audiences are, and audiences are increasingly going onto YouTube. 'They all have different deals with YouTube in terms of commercial returns, and that's down to them. But I just think it's important that the programmes that they're making, public service programmes, are available where people are. 'So just delivering on the linear channels, obviously, we're seeing that viewing has fallen significantly in those areas. So it's a question of, as I said, pretty much putting these great programmes where people are watching them.' A key objective of the Media Act, passed in 2024, was to make it easier to find content from PSBs like the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 on smart TVs. Ms Nicolotti Squires said Ofcom is now calling for 'a logical next step on video sharing platforms'. She added: 'It might require some further legislative changes to regulation. We're starting the conversation rather than finalising it all.' The report says that stable and adequate funding is needed from the Government and emphasises that discoverability on online platforms is particularly important for news and children's content. It also recommends that online platforms invest in media literacy skills while forging ambitious strategic partnerships that can compete with global streaming platforms. On top of this, Ofcom is launching a review of its regulation of broadcast TV and radio that will seek input from stakeholders about the priority areas for reforming regulation. Sarah Rose, president of Channel 5, said: 'We are pleased that Ofcom's review highlighted the challenges producing specialist children's content and called for commercially viable funding models among its recommendations. 'Channel 5's Milkshake! continues to navigate those challenges to remain the only public service broadcaster offering a daily programming block which targets preschoolers with original content rooted in the UK's Early Years Foundation framework.' A spokesperson for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) said: 'We welcome Ofcom's Public Service Media Review and we will now consider its recommendations.' YouTube has been approached for comment.

Coronation Street icon opens up on ‘imposter syndrome' after 34 years on TV
Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney has opened up about living with Imposter Syndrome, and how it impacts her in the acting industry. Claire currently plays Cassie Plummer in the ITV soap, but became a household name when she joined the cast of Brookside. In 1991, Claire's first scenes as Lindsey Corkhill aired. She then played the role until the show's end in 2003. It was landing this role that saw Claire first develop feelings of Imposter Syndrome, which often sees someone experience self-doubt over a long period of time. 'I kept quiet, watched and learned. I have terrible Imposter Syndrome. I still do now in Corrie, I still get it sometimes', the star said recently. In her chat with The Speakmans on their podcast, Claire added: 'Oh god all the time, all the time. Like what you said before, your instinct is like, 'Oh I've been very lucky', well actually I worked hard and I've earned the miles, do you know what I mean, I've earned my stripes, but I do still get it. 'I spent six years being shocked every time my contract got renewed, six years, even now, I never expect a contract to get renewed. I'm like why should we think [that]? Our business is not based on safety is it and security, it's transient.' Claire also said that she believes having no expectations with things like contracts keep her feeling humble. Emmerdale icon Claire King signs new contract on ITV soap
Claire King, who plays the feisty Kim Tate, made a full-time comeback in 2018 after making her name on the show in the 1990s. The beloved actress debuted on the programme in 1989 and quickly became known for her devious ways at Home Farm. Now, The Sun has confirmed that the 63-year-old will be sticking around in the Dales for the foreseeable future after impressing bosses. Feisty Kim Tate will remain on Emmerdale.
