
N.S. man charged with sexual assault and weapons offences
Shelburne District RCMP received a sexual assault report involving a firearm on May 9.
Following an investigation, police say a woman was unknowingly given a noxious substance, held against her will and sexually assaulted at a residence in Shelburne County.
'Officers executed a search warrant at the home on May 22, seized evidence related to the offences and safely arrested a man who is known to the victim,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP.
Robert Sean Williams, 51, has been charged with:
sexual assault with a weapon
two counts of uttering threats
administering noxious thing
kidnapping
voyeurism
two counts of overcoming resistance to commission of offence
10 firearms offences, including, but not limited to, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and careless use of a firearm
Williams has also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and psilocybin. He was remanded into custody pending future court appearances.
Shelburne District RCMP is leading the ongoing investigation.

Manitoba suspect faces half-dozen charges after armed, chaotic ambulance scene
A Manitoba man is in custody facing a raft of charges after a wild incident Monday morning that began in the back of an ambulance. Officers from the Winnipegosis RCMP detachment were called around 10:45 a.m. to help EMS in transporting a patient from Pine Creek First Nation to a hospital in Dauphin. Police learned that the patient had attacked a paramedic with shears, and when they arrived, he was still armed, and approached police with the weapon. An attempt to slow him down with a stun gun was unsuccessful, police said, and the man fled the scene on foot, heading north on Highway 20. A child in the back seat of the vehicle wasn't harmed during the struggle. Story continues below advertisement According to police, the man then aggressively approached officers until he was eventually stopped with a stun gun (after a non-lethal round was fired and had no effect) and arrested. A 38-year-old man now faces charges including assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes, resisting a peace officer, assault on a peace officer with a weapon causing bodily harm and two counts of robbery with an offensive weapon. He remains in custody and RCMP continue to investigate.

Man faces two first-degree murder charges in alleged hit and run in Alberta
GLEICHEN — An Alberta man faces murder charges in the deaths of two men who police say were struck by a vehicle while they were walking with a group of people over the weekend. RCMP say 27-year-old Trayton Runningbird and 45 year-old Clifton Saddleback were among a group of five people walking on the Siksika Nation, east of Calgary, on Saturday night when the group was hit. Two people hospitalized after motorcycle and car collide in Antigonish County
Two people were taken to hospital after a motorcycle and Honda Civic collided on Highway 104 near Linwood, N.S., Sunday afternoon. Antigonish County District RCMP responded to the crash between exits 37 and 38 around 4:45 p.m. Police say both vehicles were travelling west but the collision happened in the eastbound lane. The motorcyclist, a 58-year-old man from Ontario, and his passenger, a 60-year-old woman from Ontario, were both taken to hospital with injuries. The RCMP did not say whether their injuries are considered serious or life-threatening. The driver of the car, a 79-year-old man from Connecticut, and his passenger, a 73-year-old woman from Connecticut, were not injured. Police say several witnesses provided information and dashcam footage and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Highway 104 was closed for several hours Sunday.
