England are assessing Lauren James's ankle injury ahead of the Euro 2025 final.
James sustained a knock to her ankle in the first half of Tuesday's 2-1 extra-time win over Italy in the semi-final.
England head coach Sarina Wiegman took no chances and replaced James with Beth Mead on the right wing at half-time.
Wiegman has made minimal changes to her team throughout tournament n in Switzerland and will be hoping 23-year-old James is fit to feature in the final on Sunday.
England are yet to learn who they will face at Basel's St. Jakob-Park, with the second semi-final between Germany and Spain taking place in Zurich on Wednesday night.
The full England squad were in recovery on Wednesday, with James being assessed by in-camp FA doctors.
Wiegman was asked about the severity of James's ankle knock when she spoke in a press conference after the Italy win.
'She hurt her ankle,' the England manager said of the Chelsea attacker.
'I haven't seen her yet, so I don't what it looks like over the next couple of days. But we had to take her off.'
Lionesses captain Leah Williamson overcame an ankle injury of her own to train with the squad on Monday and was fit to start against Italy.
Although the Arsenal defender was substituted in the 85th minute, that is believed to have been tactical and the fact she started the game indicated she had shrugged off the injury.

Inter Milan & AC Milan Remain Confident About New San Siro Project Despite Legal Issues On 100th Anniversary Of Iconic Stadium

Inter Milan and AC Milan are still confident about the new San Siro project despite some legal issues in the city of Milan. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, reporting on the 100th anniversary of the breaking-ground on the iconic stadium. Inter Milan and AC Milan have been trying to build a new stadium for years now. And for the last year or so, the clubs' efforts have focused on building a new San Siro stadium adjacent to the existing one. The clubs will not tear down the existing San Siro. However, they hope to build adjacent to it, rather than building in a new area. Inter & AC Milan Still Confident About New San Siro Project VERONA, ITALY – NOVEMBER 23. Giuseppe. Marotta of. FC. England races to 109-1 in 16 overs to trail India by 115 runs in fifth and final test

LONDON (AP) — England raced to 109-1 in 16 overs after dominating the morning session on day two of the fifth and final test, which India must win to tie the series. Led by Gus Atkinson's five-for, England quickly dismissed India for 224 on Friday before going on the attack to trail by 115 runs at lunch. Zak Crawley (52 not out) and stand-in captain Ollie Pope (12 not out) are at the crease for England, which leads the series 2-1. Openers Crawley and Ben Duckett (43) propelled England past 50 in only the seventh over, passing the landmark with one of Duckett's two sixes. England has hit 19 fours so far in its first innings — although Duckett was out trying one reverse scoop too many off Akash Deep and getting caught behind. Deep appeared to goad Duckett somewhat after dismissing him, putting his arm around him and leaning in to talk before being pulled away by a teammate. Duckett muttered something back but otherwise did not react. India earlier resumed at the Oval on 204-6 but could add just 20 more runs in 5.4 overs to its first innings before being dismissed. Karun Nair was out for 57, trapped lbw by Josh Tongue (3-57), who has proved an inconsistent but effective threat to batters. Washington Sundar (26) was dismissed an over later by Atkinson, who took 5-33. England's bowlers proved up to the challenge after confirmation at the start of the day that Chris Woakes will miss the rest of the test, leaving the hosts short of a fast bowler and a very useful lower-order batter. England is playing the test without captain and series-leading wicket-taker Ben Stokes through injury. 'A day for Thorpey' England's cricketers donned white headbands in memory of Graham Thorpe on Friday, joining fans in honoring the 100-test veteran. Thorpe, one of the most respected batters of his generation and England's assistant coach as recently as 2021, took his own life last August. Friday would have been Thorpe's 56th birthday and, with the match taking place at his former home ground, Surrey said it was 'A day for Thorpey'. ___ AP cricket:

Italian Journalist Reveals ‘If Atalanta Hadn't Sold Retegui, Lookman Would've Already Joined Inter Milan'

Ivan Zazzaroni anticipates that, had Atalanta not sold Mateo Retegui already this summer, then Ademola Lookman would already be at Inter Milan. The editor of the Corriere dello Sport took to Instagram to detail the Bergamo club's rationale in responding to Inter's offer for Lookman. This is likely to be the decisive day in Inter Milan's pursuit of Ademola Lookman. The Nerazzurri made their second offer for the Nigerian international earlier this week. They upped their bid from €40 million to €42 million plus €3 million in add-ons. Atalanta have not yet given Inter a formal response. But they will give the Nerazzurri their answer today. View this post on Instagram Naturally, La Dea have to consider a number of factors. On the one hand, Atalanta had already managed to keep hold of Lookman last summer. And reportedly, they told the former RB Leipzig and Everton forward he could leave this summer. However, Atalanta are hardly going to allow such an important player for them to leave lightly. (Photo by) And in the meantime, Atalanta just sold one of their talismanic attacking players. Striker Mateo Retegui joined Al-Qadsiah this summer. The Saudi club did pay a massive fee to Atalanta for the Italian international, but this left a big void in their attack. Naturally, the departure of Lookman would only further deprive La Dea in attack. There have been reports that Atalanta want up to €50 million for Lookman. However, according to Corriere dello Sport editor Ivan Zazzaroni, who first broke the story of Inter's interest in Lookman, 'in reality Atalanta have never set a price tag for Lookman.' 'So it's not easy for Inter to get close to a valuation that doesn't exist.' Zazzaroni cautions 'let's wait and see.' 'If Retegui hadn't left, Lookman would have already been an Inter player weeks ago.'
