WrestleMania 42 location: WWE event returns to Las Vegas for second straight year

WrestleMania is headed back to Sin City.
WWE will hold WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium for the second consecutive year, the company announced. It will be held April 18-19, with WrestleMania weekend events like SmackDown, the Hall of Fame Ceremony, NXT Stand and Deliver, and Raw After WrestleMania also taking place in the city.

Wrestling's grandest event returns to Las Vegas after WrestleMania 41 took place there this year on April 19-20. This will be the second time in WWE history that WrestleMania will take place at the same venue in back-to-back years. The first instance was in 1988 and 1989 when WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V was held at the Atlantic City Convention Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The announcement comes weeks after WWE decided to move the host city for the 2026 edition of the event. In February, The Rock revealed during an episode of SmackDown that WrestleMania 42 would take place at the Caesars Superdome April 11-12. However, that changed three months later.
In a joint statement with TKO Group Holdings, Inc., owner of WWE, The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation said WrestleMania 42 wouldn't take place in Louisiana, and instead the city would get the event in the future and New Orleans would get Money in the Bank 2026. No reason was given for why WWE changed plans.
Digital screens display WrestleMania logos during the Undisputed WWE Championship match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes during WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 20, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Why did WWE choose Las Vegas for WrestleMania 42?
WWE did not specify why it opted to run it back in the same arena, but the idea of bringing WrestleMania back to Las Vegas was likely too enticing to pass up.

Not long after the news about the location being moved, NOLA.com reported Las Vegas was the leading contender to host. While it wasn't an ideal decision for most fans since WrestleMania just took place there and the show has traditionally gone around the U.S., it made sense why the move was made.
WrestleMania 42 was a major success for WWE with the largest gate for any event in its history, with more than 124,000 fans for both nights. The event also broke merchandise, sponsorship and hospitality experiences records. WWE also was granted upwards of $4.24 million in tax credits for having the event in the city, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Plus, it can't be forgotten that TKO Group Holdings Inc., owner of WWE, also owns UFC, which is based in Las Vegas. Ownership's familiarity with the location and how to maximize profits from it is an easy move.
The Las Vegas Strip was the ideal place to hold multiple events within close proximity of each other, rather than having to jump around different parts of the city. Mix in the fact the city is a top tourist destination, fans will definitely take over, generating millions for Las Vegas. WrestleMania 41 was too big of a success to not try again.
WrestleMania Las Vegas history
With WrestleMania returning to Allegiant Stadium, it will be the third time the event takes place in Las Vegas. Besides WrestleMania 41 in 2025, the first time it happened in the city was in 1993 when WrestleMania 9 took place at Caesar's Palace. It was a notable event since it was the first time WWE held the event outdoors.

For most the early years, WrestleMania was held in arenas, but it has taken place in stadiums since WrestleMania 23 in 2007 – with the exception of WrestleMania 36 due to COVID-19.
This will mark the third WWE event Allegiant Stadium has hosted in its short history. SummerSlam 2021 took place at the indoor stadium and was the first professional wrestling event to happen there. The attendance of that event was 51,326.
While it hasn't been confirmed, T-Mobile Arena is likely to host the shows part of the weekend. SmackDown, NXT Stand and Deliver and Raw After WrestleMania took place at the arena, and the Hall of Fame ceremony was at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel.
WrestleMania 41 was headlined as John Cena's final one as 2025 is his final year of in-ring competition. He beat Cody Rhodes in the main event to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship and become a record 17-time champion.

Lionsgate & Universal's Michael Jackson Biopic ‘Michael' Moves To Pre-Summer 2026

Lionsgate and Universal's Michael Jackson biopic Michael is officially moving to Friday, April 24, 2026, and that's a global theatrical release. At the same time, we hear that a second movie about Jackson remains in development. More from Deadline 'Good Fortune' Trailer: Aziz Ansari Comedy With Keanu Reeves & Seth Rogen Headed For TIFF Ryan Fleck & Anna Boden's 'Freaky Tales' Sets HBO Max Premiere Date Lionsgate Marketing Heads JP Richards And Keri Moore Exiting Company We told you at CinemaCon there were distribution plans afoot for this on the Antoine Fuqua directed, Graham King produced feature. Michael will also get a release on Imax screens. The delay with Michael has been twofold, one being length — there was a first cut in excess of three and a half hours. There have also been reports that the initial cut of the movie made references to 13-year old Jordan Chandler, who accused Jackson of molestation, and who the pop singer settled with for $20M in 1994 with no admission of guilt. The Jackson estate explicitly wanted nothing about Chandler in the film, which led to more shoots on the production. Three-time Oscar nominee John Logan penned the screenplay. Jackson's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, plays the King of Pop. Currently, there aren't any major studio wide entries on April 24 next year, hence a great choice for Lionsgate. Michael will open in the wake of New Line/Blumhouse's Lee Cronin's The Mummy and Amazon MGM Studios/Miramax's Liam Neeson starring, Frankie Shaw directed 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank on April 17. Michael will also precede the May 1 release of 20th Century Studios' The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Warner Bros/Legenary's Animal Friends. This is the third time that Michael has moved. The pic's first release date was April 18, 2025 then Oct. 3, 2025. Oscar winner King's previous music biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, won four Oscars and grossed over $910M at the worldwide box office. Kino Films is releasing the movie in Japan while Universal has the rest of the world. The Voice: Which Former Contestants Should Return for Season 29?

Fans of The Voice let out a collective chorus of 'Hmm' when the NBC sing-off revealed the changes being implemented for Season 29's Battle of Champions (which premieres in spring 2026). In particular, eyebrows were raised over the Knockouts round twist in which coaches Adam Levine, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson bring back two former contestants apiece to duke it out in what the show has dubbed an In-Season All-Star Competition to be judged by former coach CeeLo Green. On one hand, it seems unfair to the new contestants who will have made it to the Knockouts. They ran a gauntlet to get that far, only to then have to contend with past favorites. On the other hand, it's an intriguing proposition. Who among us doesn't have singers from past seasons that we'd love to see come back and win the whole shebang? I might not tune in for one coach over another, but you bet I'd make The Voice appointment TV to hear Team Legend's Katie Kadan again! More from TVLine Chicago P.D. Check 'em out, then hit the comments with the past contestants that you most want to come back and try, try again. Amanda Brown (Team Adam Levine) The Season 3 standout's Playoffs cover of Aerosmith unequivocally told all future contestants that if they thought they could do better, ahem, dream on. Sarah Grace (Team Kelly Clarkson) Just a kid during Season 15, when she was axed in the Semifinals, Grace had the chops even then to go all the way; she just… well, didn't. (Marvel at her 'Amazing Grace'/'House of the Rising Sun' mash-up above.) Katie Kadan (Team John Legend) Though the Season 17 belter had a memorable look, enviable wit and an unforgettably resonant voice, she only scored a third-place finish. (Buckle up for her cover of Janis Joplin's 'Piece of My Heart' above.) Jershika Maple (Team John Legend) The term 'powerhouse' was all but coined to describe the Season 21 contestant whose soulful vocals should've landed her higher than fifth place. (Lend an ear as she slays Natalie Cole's 'Inseparable' above.) James Wolpert (Team Adam Levine) The alt-rocker left us intoxicated with his Playoffs cover of Joni Mitchell's classic 'A Case of You' but still got eliminated in Season 5's Semifinals. Klay Thompson Reveals How Being ‘in Love' with Megan Thee Stallion Has Upped His Golf Game

Klay Thompson has become better in more ways than one since making things official with Megan Thee Stallion. The Dallas Mavericks shooting guard, 35, recently planned a date at a nine-hole golf course with Megan, 30, that was chronicled on her Instagram and TikTok pages on Wednesday, July 23. The video begins with the rapper explaining that he let her choose her outfit. The basketball player went to Academy Sports + Outdoors to purchase a couple of options, which included a pink athletic skirt and a lavender collared t-shirt, as well as a black athletic skirt with a white t-shirt. The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Play now! Megan ultimately chose the white shirt, paired with the pink skirt, while Thompson opted for black shorts, a baby blue collared t-shirt and a black hat that read "Protect your energy." After explaining that she had a meeting to attend before her date with Thompson, the video cut to a clip of the two riding in a golf cart driven by the NBA star. Thompson was then seen sitting on a bench while Megan pointed out fish in a lake. She then cuts to a closer look at her outfit as she tells Thompson, "You picked it? You think it's cute?" "Uh-huh. You even got the cute shoes on [and] the shirt. I did well," he says. "I'm really proud of myself." The two ultimately then start golfing, as Thompson jokes that he is Tiger Woods. After he hits a ball, the two go look for it to continue playing, and Thompson calls Megan his "good luck charm." Megan eventually attempts to hit a gold ball herself with Thompson guiding her every step of the way. The video ends with the two sharing a kiss, and Thompson declares that "ever since I've been in love, my golf game's reaped all the benefits." The couple first sparked romance rumors when Megan posted an Instagram photo with Thompson in the background in early July. On July 16, they made their red-carpet debut at the Inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City.
