Emmerdale star confirms very unexpected new friendship for Moira Dingle

Metro2 days ago
Moira Dingle is no stranger to chaos, but in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, the beloved character finds herself fighting multiple battles. From betrayals at home to a terrifying farm break-in, Moira's world is crumbling fast.
Natalie J. Robb, who plays the iconic Moira Dingle, teases that just when it seems like things can't get any worse, a surprising new character enters the scene, but this potential friendship may come with strings attached.
'Moira's always been feisty,' Natalie says. 'Moira has always been unpredictable like that, and if anyone threatens her home, and particularly her children, she always sees the red mist. That's never changed; it's been like that since day one. Maybe it's more severe as time's gone on and she's hit the menopause.'
Right now, Moira's under serious pressure. After a slurry leak on her land, she's hit with a huge fine, one that pushes her to the brink financially. Worse still, she learns that Joe Tate was pulling strings behind her back.
'A lot of this is coming from the slurry leak, that fine has really put her in trouble, that's Mackenzie's doing, although it's actually John's,' Natalie explains. 'She has all these people going behind her back, making deals behind her back. People are trying to push her out, especially Joe Tate. Everywhere she goes, she's stuck, she's got her back against the wall, and her stress levels are getting higher and higher.'
Moira lodges an appeal, but unbeknownst to her, it's already been sabotaged. 'Joe Tate paid the water board to not allow it to go through. She finds that out and obviously confronts Joe,' Natalie reveals. 'It's like a proper battle, we're the peasants and they're the ones that really don't care. They don't care about the land, it's all for access roads and routes to keep different parts of land connected, which she later on finds out.'
Joe then pushes Kim Tate's offer to buy the farm, a tempting lifeline that comes with a catch. Moira could stay on as a tenant farmer, but the land would no longer be hers.
'She thinks about it at first because the offer is quite good, and they propose that she can still stay on the farm as a tenant farmer,' Natalie says. 'In this day and age, it's quite a common thing… but they don't own it and at any possible time when a contract ends, they can leave and they wouldn't have any say.'
Even Cain is conflicted. 'He doesn't want her to sell, obviously, and he certainly wouldn't want Kim Tate to be the one that buys it,' Natalie explains. 'Nor does Moira, but she also can't deal with the stress. And Cain, after her tumour and everything else, he sees her getting stressed so says he will back her regardless, even though it's not something that he wants.'
Things escalate when a break-in at the farm leaves Moira's son Kyle in danger. Two masked intruders, tied to a drug plot involving Robert, scare the boy, who ends up injuring one in self-defence.
'Kyle hears something in the barn so he goes in and sees two guys with balaclavas on, quite frightening,' Natalie says. 'They start threatening him and he panics and pushes the pitchfork out and it catches one of them in the leg. The other one's about to hurt Kyle, and then Moira comes in with a shotgun.'
Moira assumes Joe is behind the attack and defies Cain by going to the police. 'She's thinking Joe Tate's gone a step too far,' Natalie explains. 'She tells the police it's him, and no one threatens my children. Kyle's traumatised because of what happened before with him shooting Al, so that brings things up for him.'
But when she confronts Joe, it backfires, badly. 'She's like, how dare you do this to my children,' Natalie says. 'He says something that makes her mad and she goes to punch him. Lydia jumps in front of her and gets punched in the ear which is quite horrific. I'm devastated that it's Lydia of all people.'
That single moment sparks a fierce Dingle family feud. 'Obvs Moira doesn't handle it in the best way,' Natalie admits, 'but [Sam] knows that she hasn't deliberately done it to Lydia. He's divided more because Cain then threatens Lydia not to press charges. I'm saying to Cain, 'You didn't threaten her, did you?' and he's like, 'No, not at all', but obviously he does, and it all comes out.'
Now, Moira must repair broken relationships and deal with a new threat, Celia, a sharp-edged woman renting nearby farmland. Natalie teases. 'She's quite hostile and she's very rude when we first meet. She says, 'I know you need the money and I'd like to rent your farm' for like literally next to nothing, and I'm like, 'No, that's not gonna happen.'' More Trending
But Celia quickly changes tack. 'She starts to befriend her and Moira actually quite likes her in the end,' she adds. 'The question is, Celia could be working with someone else to try and push her out, but it's whether Celia will stick with that. She's someone she doesn't want to be reckoned with.'
Despite everything, Natalie hopes Moira's resilience shines through. 'She always has problems with the farm, doesn't she? But it's real life, I suppose, because it is tough for farmers out there,' she reflects. 'Hopefully, good things can come from it, new ideas can be made to work on the farm, like glamping sites and things like that. That's in my head, that would be nice.'
As Moira's personal and professional lives collide, fans can expect emotional showdowns, shifting loyalties, and a possible new enemy hiding in plain sight.

'She's doing everything she can to keep things together,' Natalie concludes. 'It's just sad that all these people are trying to get a piece of her, and there are more people that are going to come into it with more threatening behaviours. There's some dark people coming into it, which I'm sure you know about.'

Emmerdale legend released from prison as a shock decision is made

Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) meddling has caused a feud to form between Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) in Emmerdale. Joe was put in charge of Kim Tate's (Claire King) grand plan a few days ago. As she left for Dubai, Joe decided to focus on getting Butlers Farm from Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb). He pounced on his prey after learning that Moira had received more bad news from the water company. Due to Moira being in a vulnerable position when Joe put forward the idea of her selling, it meant she was very tempted. Moira changed her mind on signing the contract when she discovered Joe had paid Noel from the water company to deliberately reject her appeal. She then faced a nightmare when two teens broke into a barn, and immediately thought that Joe was responsible for organising it. At Home Farm, Joe told Moira that his plans, as ruthless as they are, never involve putting children in danger. Moira didn't believe him and went to punch Joe, but poor Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) got in the way. Moira was arrested and taken to the station in this evening's episode and while this was happening, Cain was on the warpath. He found Lydia and told her to lie to the police if she got questioned about Moira hitting her. Lydia was unsure about this, but Cain threatened her and said she didn't have a choice. While Cain was playing bad cop, Joe took a different approach. He spoke to Lydia and Sam and said that he likes them both, and said Moira shouldn't get away with an act of violence. More Trending Moira ended up getting released from prison due to the complaint getting dropped. Unfortunately though, that wasn't the end of the matter. In the pub, Cain and Sam continued to argue. Cain felt frustrated over Sam's loyalty to the Tates, while Sam looked at his brother differently after his confrontation with Lydia. Emmerdale 'final showdown' as 'three characters will take down John'

Emmerdale viewers are convinced that three characters could bring an end to John Sugden in a 'final showdown' with another sad death also predicted on the ITV soap Viewers of Emmerdale think they've sussed out how the John Sugden storyline will end. ‌ With one character onto the killer and no going back, and a "life-changing" storyline on the way for two characters linked to him, fans think it's all about to come to a head. We have another resident dangerously close to unravelling the dark truth about John too, and fans think it's only a matter of time before his criminal ways come to light. ‌ Robert Sugden wasted no time in deciding his long-lost brother John was a "creep" and a baddie when they met just a few months ago. A showdown in prison amid their rivalry over Aaron Dingle, John's husband and Robert's ex-husband, left Robert unnerved. ‌ He was determined to expose John to everyone, sensing something wasn't right with him and that he was hiding something dark. Since then, he's remained on the case to figure out what John is capable of. John didn't help matters by threatening his sibling, but that said he's won over the entire village who have no idea the things he's done. He's targeted a number of residents over the past year, from drugging people, to causing a deliberate allergic reaction and even killing Nate Robinson. ‌ He framed a character for a harassment campaign he'd set up, and all of this was to play the hero as well as be needed by those in the village. It paid off and no one, asides Robert is suspicious. At one point Mackenzie Boyd was and he became an enemy of the character, only to pay the price and be blamed for a slurry leak on his sister Moira Dingle's farm. John feigned support and Mack believed he was a good guy and left him alone. But Robert is slowly unravelling John's behaviour, and he isn't the only one. Paddy Kirk is volunteering on a helpline, the very helpline a guilty John has been messaging and calling after struggling with his guilt. ‌ Paddy is the exact person who has been messaging John, urging him to open up and speak over the phone. Neither of them realise yet who they are speaking to, but surely it's only a matter of time before one or both of them figure it out, and if John confesses to a crime or two before then, the game could be up. Factoring all this in, fans are convinced it will be these three characters, Mack, Paddy and Robert, who ultimately put the pieces of the puzzle together and expose John. They think events will lead to a "final showdown" and that the trio will team up and end his reign of terror. ‌ Some fans think Aaron will figure it out too and could be someone who brings his own husband down, while Cain Dingle and Victoria Sugden have also been suggested. It's clear Robert is a threat to John, just like Mack once was, so will he put a stop to his investigation? Could Robert or even Mack lose their life in a last death, given Aaron and Mack's mystery upcoming storyline? Taking to social media, one fan theorised: "Robert is obviously suspicious, but won't be believed. And obviously, he only has an instinct that John is a wrong 'un, and a belief that there's police have got it wrong about Nate's death. "He's a long way from understanding what has really been going on. I think they'd is still a role for Mack to play in exposing all John's secrets (and presumably Paddy, too). There'd be great drama in seeing Mack, Rob and Paddy all coming together to save Aaron in some big final showdown." ‌ Another fan said: "I hope he ends up confessing to Paddy via the helpline chat thing and Paddy works with Robert to piece it together." A third viewer predicted: "I actually think it will be Paddy, Mack, Aaron or Vic. And later Robert will be like I told you so. "I'm enjoying the storyline and can't wait to wait it all play out." As of the possible final kill, another fan commented: "I wouldn't be surprised if John kills Mack when he's about to be exposed, being caught by Aaron. And then Aaron is kidnapped by John, leading to a Robert, Cain and Paddy team up."
