New KitKat flavour sends chocolate lovers into meltdown as they race to buy it
Brits have been enjoying the taste of KitKats ever since the chocolate -covered wafer bars were introduced by confectioners, Rowntree's way back in the late 1930s. Now a product of Nestle, who acquired Rowntree's in 1988, the bars come in a whole host of design and flavours.
In addition to the traditional four-fingered bars we all love, KitKat Chunky hit the market in 1999 and has seen a number of variations - often limited edition flavours - go on sale over the years. The latest of those is now available in the UK, having been detailed on Facebook by dedicated foodies, NewFoodsUK.
Sharing a snap of the treat, they wrote: "These Rolo KitKats are amazing!" Rolo also followed the same path of Rowntree's to Nestle, coming in tube-shaped packs made of round, caramel-filled chocolate.
Excited to get their hands on the new offering, which originated in Canada, one Facebook user penned in response: "Need to find them!" Another person commented: "I swear I'm flying to the UK solely for your snacks."
A third confessed: "Oh don't! I'm far too obsessed with chunky KitKats for my own good! It's like the universe doesn't want me to be thin." Whilst a fourth said: "Another amazing KitKat Chunky."
World Snacks UK, who are selling the 48g bars at a price of £2.75 each, state: "This is just the 'break' you deserve! The Kit Kat Chunky Rolo is filled with rich and delectable chocolate, along with silky golden caramel!""The mouth-watering production description continues: "It's a match made in heaven! This Kit Kat Chunky offers a hefty size; you'll have to open extra wide for a bite! Discover an indulgent layer of milk chocolate, crispy wafers and a filling of the famous Rolo caramel!
"Featuring the perfect balance of deeply delicious flavours, you won't want to miss this Kit Kat bar! Ideal for lovers of caramel, this chocolate bar just might make the cut into your regular chocolate rotation!"
The website has a variety of other unusual KitKats on sale, meanwhile, including KitKat pink lemonade flavour, KitKat Neapolitan, KitKat Lemon Crisp and KitKat Birthday Cake.
Back in January, meanwhile, three more KitKats made their debut on UK supermarket shelves. The XL bars, at £1.50 for a 99g bar are as follows:
KitKat Double Chocolate: A cocoa-flavoured filling covered with thick milk and dark chocolate marble swirls.
KitKat Salted Caramel: A salted caramel-flavoured filling in a thick milk chocolate coating with marbled caramel swirls.
KitKat Hazelnut: A hazelnut-flavoured filling, coated with a rich mix of milk and dark chocolate marble swirls.
With the new XL bar, the pieces can now be easily broken off, so there's no excuse not to share and enjoy equal bites with friends and loved ones.

'I named my son Harry Potter and people react in very wild way'
A woman has shared her heartbreak after her friends and family started picking apart of chosen baby name without considering her reasons for it - and it forced her to take drastic measures A woman has sparked a debate after naming her son Harry Potter - but she says there's nothing magical about the name for her. She explained how she took her husband's surname at the altar 10 years ago and originally planned to name her son Louis Michael but shortly before his birth, her dad tragically died. She said on Reddit: "Michael, my husband's middle name being Michael, Louis being a name we both liked. However, during my pregnancy my dad passed away tragically and unexpectedly. He had been having abdominal pain and fatigue for some months and we begged him to get treatment but he didn't. He ended up having an aortic aneurism behind the wheel of his car. He made impact with a traffic pole but he was dead before impact." She says her dad's death "destroyed her" - and caused her 'easy' pregnancy to turn into 'high-risk'. She said: "I'm still mourning him. It's been four and a half months and I'm still not over it. "My dad's name was Harry, and conveniently his middle name was also Michael. I wanted to honour my father by calling my son after him. But that would mean his name is Harry Potter. "Anyway, I decided to not let the book series and movies rule my emotions and decision, and my lovely little boy with big blue eyes and bright-red hair is called Harry Michael Potter." The mum jokingly added: "He's only about three weeks old and we're totally in love and he's a decent little dude, we'll probably end up keeping him." She announced her son's birth with a professional photoshoot, sending the snaps to her close friends and family members in the post. However, she wasn't at all expecting them to inundate her with their thoughts on his name. She added: "Being a birth announcement Harry's full name is on the announcement. I've been getting an unending amount of ridicule and shaming from people for calling my son Harry. "To add insult to injury one of my so-called 'friends' shared the birth announcement with a meme page and now I'm getting it from everywhere. "My husband and I love the name, there's no question of keeping it, but I'm at the point where I'm considering asking my husband if he would mind if we change Harry's last name to my maiden name, so he'd be Harry Michael Vaughn. I'm pretty sure he'd agree since he's getting annoyed too. "The worst is the shaming online. Y'all know the toxic culture of Facebook and mum-groups, I'm having people accuse me of child-abuse, people saying I need to have the authorities, CPS, whatever, called on me." Commenting on her post, one user said: "If you think you get ridiculed it's nothing compared to what your son is going to get." Another user added: "Firstly, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. You can name your kid whatever you want but be aware that, even though the name has tremendous meaning to you, the average person (and future employers) will only think of it as the book character and not a homage to your late father. A third user said: "Even if this is real, this is terrible. You're going to honour your father by having your son be constantly ridiculed. Smart." One more user said: "The people who are mocking you are — but you, your husband and your son will have to deal with this literally for the rest of his life. "You need to come up with some strategies to address it in real life ('he's named for my late father' accompanied by a cold stare should work) and to handle the online hate (which may just be ignoring it). "Then you'll have to teach those strategies to your son. Congrats on the baby, and I'm sorry about your dad."

'He was a well loved figure in British rock music and played many memorable shows not least the legendary 1981 Monsters of Rock show at Castle Donington with AC/DC, Whitesnake/David Coverdale as well as tours with Iron Maiden Def Leppard and many other legendary artists. "Mike Freeland remembers him fondly as a 'bloody great vocalist!' "It's an honour for us to continue to play his music and we will always think of him every time we hit the opening notes to 'Warhead'. "We send our deepest condolences to Paul's family and friends and also the many fans around the world who love his music. "Play his music loud and sing along! "Thank you. Rock in peace Paul." Paul Mario Day was recruited by bassist Steve Harris when he formed Iron Maiden in 1975. Day was the band's first singer, and stayed with the band between 1975 and 1976 before being replaced by Dennis Wilcock. Ozzy Osbourne funeral plans revealed Paul Di'Anno later took over from Wilcock, who would perform on the band's first two records. Speaking to Blabbermouth in 2019, Day said of his Iron Maiden exit: 'Steve was saying, 'You've got to get better. You've got to be more in the audience's face. You've got to be commanding. "You've got to be a hero.' And I agreed with him, but I didn't actually know how to make that happen." The singer said he was "gutted" by the decision but he "learnt a big lesson". He added: "What Steve was doing was trying to make the band big. He knew what he wanted. "What he wanted is what he got. He got one of the biggest bands on the planet. As much as it hurt, as much as it upset me, I learnt a big lesson that day. I really did. I used that emotion, I guess, in my singing.' Day never returned to the band for any of their reunions and focused on performing with More. The group skyrocketed to fame with their 1981 album Warhead and went on to perform at the 1981 Monsters Of Rock festival with fellow rock legends including AC/DC, Def Leppard, and Whitestnake. Day also became the frontman for Wildfire between 1983 and 1984. The following year he stepped in to sing for Sweet and band guitarist Andy Scott wrote in tribute: 'Mick Tucker and myself put together the first new line-up of Sweet after the hiatus of the original band. "We needed a singer and when Paul arrived for the audition we looked no further. "Our first dates were in Australia, total sell-outs which boded well for the future. Europe followed suit and 3 sold out nights at the Marquee in London produced a live album, video and DVD. "'Live at the Marquee' did well in various charts around the world and Paul's vocal performance has stood the test of time.' Day, born in London, has lived in Australia since 1986.
