Box Office: Housefull 5 collects Rs 162 crore in 3 weeks, Akshay Kumar's comedy caper emerges as an average success
Housefull 5 adds Rs 10.30 crore in third week, cume reaches Rs 162 crore
Bankrolled by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Housefull 5 recorded a decent run at the box office. After storming Rs 114.40 crore in its opening week, the comedy caper netted Rs 37.35 crore in its second week, surpassing the Rs 150 crore net mark at the Indian box office.
The movie got a major hit with the arrival of Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par and could add just Rs 10.30 crore to the tally in its third week, with Rs 65 lakh coming on the third Thursday.
The total cume of Housefull 5 now stands at Rs 162.30 crore net at the Indian box office. Looking at its trends, Housefull 5 is expected to wrap its theatrical run somewhere around Rs 166 crore to Rs 168 crore net in India, which is an average result for such a big-scale franchise movie.
It will lose more screens to this weekend's releases, MAA, F1, and Kannappa. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar will be seen portraying the role of Lord Shiva in Kannappa.

Assi Assi hazaar ka make-up chahiye. Earlier they used to bring home cooked food, but now they want diet food. They want drugs at night and diet food in the morning.' When further probed and asked if the drug culture still exists in the industry. 'Of course it exists. Kuch actors ke toh aankhon mein hi aapko dikhega drug hi drug hai.' In this chat, he also opened up on nepotism and said that people are here basis on their own merit. He added that a person will work only if they talent. Former CBFC ( Central Board Of Film Certification ) Chief and film-maker Pahlaj Nihalini is always known for being quite vocal about his opinions. Nihalini in the recent interview has spoken harshly about the growing costs of entourage of actors. He revealed the kind of demands which actors have. He also added that earlier heroes never interfered with the casting of heroines but it started with Akshay Kumar who referred Kareena Kapoor for his film 'Talaash'. Pahlaj said that this was the first time in his career that he saw such a demand. 'Earlier, producers and directors used to cast and heroes wouldn't interfere in casting. The first actor to interfere in casting with me was Akshay Kumar in Talash in 2002. He told me that 'we can start the movie tomorrow, and you can give me any amount that you want, but the heroine of this film will be Kareena Kapoor.' It was one of the most costly film of that time, it was made in Rs 22 crore. This was the first time in my career that an actor had demanded a certain cast,' he said. He said that now a days, the actor only decides everything about the film - right from the director to actresses or technicians. 'Aajkal toh yeh pura racket hai. Aaj kal sab kuch actor ka hi hai.' When asked about the reason why Akshay wanted Kareena for the film, he said, 'Sometimes, as the actors grow old they want to star against younger actresses so that their own age looks less.' In this interview, he also spoke about Govinda and was asked if he was arrogant. Reacting to it, he said, "Govinda was always insecure in everything. His father was a huge hero of Mehboob Khan. Diljit Dosanjh tries to douse rumours of removal from 'Border 2', drops video from the shoot
Mumbai: Contrary to the previous reports that Diljit Dosanjh has been removed from "Border 2", it looks like the Punjabi actor and singer continues to remain a part of the sequel. Putting the rumor mills to rest, Diljit has shared a video from "Border 2" on his office Instagram handle. As he entered the location, he was welcomed with a loud cheer by the crowd.
