EA Sports Unveils Top 25 Rankings For 'College Football 26'
EA Sports Unveils Top 25 Rankings For 'College Football 26' originally appeared on The Spun. EA Sports won't release "College Football 26" until the early stages of July, but the game's top 25 has been released. Advertisement The way-too-early rankings from ESPN have Ohio State and Texas as the top two teams in the country. The Buckeyes lost a lot of talent from their championship-winning roster, but Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs will still be in Columbus anchoring down both sides of the football. The Longhorns, meanwhile, are finally handing the keys to their offense over to former five-star quarterback Arch Manning. Fans are expecting a big year from Eli and Peyton's nephew. Despite all the hype surrounding Ohio State and Texas, neither team received the top spot in EA Sports' rankings. The No. 1 spot surprisingly belongs to Alabama. Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith in "College Football 26."EA Sports. What's bizarre about Alabama being No. 1 is the offense doesn't have a starting quarterback yet. Sure, Ryan Williams is an absolute stud at wide receiver, but head coach Kalen DeBoer has some things to fix. Advertisement Alabama isn't the only team that received a questionable ranking from EA Sports. Here are the top 25 teams in EA Sports' upcoming game: Alabama Texas Ohio State Penn State Notre Dame Georgia Clemson Texas A&M Oregon LSU Miami Florida Texas Tech Arizona State Michigan Ole Miss Oklahoma Indiana SMU Tennessee Missouri Auburn Duke South Carolina Illinois Fans can't believe that Auburn cracked the top 25. Frankly, we can't blame them. The program just hasn't looked sharp under Hugh Freeze. The deluxe edition of "College Football 26" will be available for gamers on July 7. EA Sports releases top offenses for College Football 26
EA Sports has given gamers plenty of content this week in the lead up to College Football 26's July 10 release. The video game developer released the toughest places to play in the soon-to-be-released game, as well as the top 25 overall teams. With the top overall teams already known, EA Sports also released the top offenses in the game, and Colorado is not among them. Arizona State leads the way for the conference with a 91 rating, tied for the best in the game alongside national powers such as Texas, Penn State and Ohio State. The Sun Devils are led by quarterback Sam Leavitt and talented wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, so their high ranking is not surprising. BYU (87), Baylor (87), Texas Tech (87) and Iowa State (85) also cracked the list. Despite featuring a dynamic wide receiver corps and former Conference USA MVP Kaidon Salter at quarterback, Colorado was notably absent from the rankings. With the game set to launch in just a few weeks, the Buffaloes could land just outside the rankings with an offensive rating in the low 80s — a respectable starting point, but one that leaves room to improve. There are question marks surrounding Colorado's offense, most notably at running back and tight end, while several projected starters are also unproven at the Power Four level. To improve their standing in the game, Colorado will have to develop at least a mediocre running game and a passing game that at least somewhat resembles last year's talented group. The run game will benefit from a revamped offensive line led by All-American Jordan Seaton and Power Four transfers Zy Crisler (Illinois), Larry Johnson III (Tennessee) and Mana Taimani (Ole Miss). A lackluster offensive line over the past year, plus a bunch of unproven players, likely contributed to EA Sports' ranking of Colorado's offense. Follow Charlie Strella on X, Threads and Instagram. Notre Dame has a higher ranked offense than defense in EA Sports College Football 2026
As the college football season is getting closer, we are learning much more about how Notre Dame will be featured in EA Sports College Football 2026. We already know that head coach Marcus Freeman and star running back Jeremiyah Love are going to be on the cover, but what we found out on Friday was much more interesting. The team's overall rankings were announced, and surprisingly, the Irish offense was ranked higher than the defense. Advertisement EA Sports has the Notre Dame as the No. 8 offense, coming in with an 89-overall rating, while the defense has a better rating at 90-overall, it's the No. 11 unit in the game. Yes, technically Chris Ash's unit is rated higher, but others are viewed as better, while the offense is viewed as a top-10 group. Notre Dame overall is the No. 5 team in the game, trailing just Alabama, Texas, Ohio State and Penn State, while being ahead of teams Iike Georgia, Clemson, Texas A&M, Oregon and LSU. There is no doubt that many of the people playing the game will choose to use the Irish, as they are one of the most well-rounded teams in the latest version of the franchise.
