J.P. Vaswani's 107th birth anniversary observed as Global Forgiveness Day

Pune, Aug 2 ( UNI) Dada J.P. Vaswani's 107th birth anniversary (jayanti) was observed today by individuals and organisations across the world as Global Forgiveness Day. This year's theme was based on the power of 'letting go'. Dada J.P. Vaswani championed the transformative power of forgiveness, teaching that it is essential for inner peace and healing. In this spirit, Global Forgiveness Day is observed on 2nd August, Dada's birthday, with the Moment of Calm at 2 p.m. as a designated time to forgive, said release today. The 'Let-it-go' box was unveiled recently by Didi Krishna Kumari, Head of Sadhu Vaswani Mission. The box is a symbolic tool that encourages individuals to release negative emotions such as anger or fear by writing them down and dropping them in it. The initiative teaches people not to suppress negativity, but to give it up completely — freeing themselves emotionally and spiritually. 450+ boxes were placed in locations across several countries. Many positive reviews poured in. The Lion's Club and corporates such as Mastercard and WeWork took part in the practice. Spiritual organisations, including Parmarth Niketan, Brahma Kumaris, and Shrimad Rajchandra Mission, also observed the Moment of Calm. School principals across India expressed appreciation for the practicality of the 'Let-it-go' box. Sadhu Vaswani Centres in places such as Singapore, Barcelona, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong also joined in the observances, release added. UNI SP RN

Engaging teaching content is the only way in the age of multiple distractions and social media: UoH VC

Teachers should create crisp content that will keep students engaged and make them future-ready. Engaging educational content is the only way out in the age of multiple distractions and social media,' University of Hyderabad (UoH) Vice-Chancellor B.J. Rao said at an outreach programme on Saturday. At the Direct-to-Home Swayam Prabha programme, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Rao called upon teachers to come forward to create content that is relevant and engaging. Chief coordinator of the programme Arun K. Tangirala emphasised the need to focus on the country's goal of expanding education using all modes of delivery and the need for alignment of Open Education Resources (OERs) to the specific requirements of learning. He also encouraged teachers to use emerging technologies such as AI to stay ahead and to teach students to use it ethically.

IIT-Madras organises Youth Farming Conclave

Chennai, July 2 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT Madras) in partnership with We The Leaders Foundation organized Youth Farming Conclave 2025 in collaboration with several organizations. This conclave marks a major step forward in youth-led agricultural transformation in Tamil Nadu. The event was held at IIT Madras Research Park to demonstrate how modern technology, sustainable practices, and traditional farming knowledge can come together. This one-day conclave brought together young farmers, students, agri-innovators, and institutional leaders to collectively reimagine agriculture as a space for innovation, regeneration, and youth-led enterprise. Addressing the event, Mr. Manoj Kumar, CEO, Naandi Foundation, said the Foundation has managed to convert one million farmers to organic farming. "Most of our work is in Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. We might want to start in Tamil Nadu also". In the last 25 years, the entire focus of the Foundation has been to make people ask three questions --Has the farmer, who made this food that has come to my plate, made profits or is he loss-making? Is this food good for me? By the time this food has come to my plate, how much has it damaged this planet?, he said. Mr. Manoj Kumar said 'How do we ensure that everyone always eat quality food? We have tests to ensure that every food is safe and we should make it the normal. If we want the planet to be regenerated, like the cells in our body, that is the correct way to grow food. We have successfully implemented this in Araku Valley. The only way we can do all of this is if the country decides to go back to its roots.' Speaking about the 'Internship for Farmers' initiative launched during the conclave, former IPS Officer K. Annamalai, who is the Chief Mentor, We The Leaders Foundation, said the 'Internship initiative will provide an exposure to those interested in agriculture. Eight organic farmers have come forward to open their doors to youngsters interested in learning about agriculture. The objective is to plant the seed of farming in the mind of youngsters while they are pursuing studies. The benefits of such initiatives will be felt in the generations to come, he said.
