‘Project Hail Mary' trailer: Ryan Gosling is humanity's last hope in Lord & Miller's sci-fi comedy

Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Project Hail Mary, a sci-fi comedy starring Ryan Gosling as an ordinary science teacher turned unlikely astronaut tasked with saving Earth from cosmic disaster. The film is directed by Oscar-winning duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and adapted from Andy Weir's bestselling novel by screenwriter Drew Goddard (The Martian).
Gosling plays Ryland Grace, a middle-school teacher who wakes up aboard a spaceship, alone and light-years from Earth, with no memory of how he got there. As fragments of his memory return, Grace realises he's humanity's last hope in a mission to investigate a mysterious substance that's threatening the sun's ability to sustain life on Earth. As he pieces together the truth, he also forms an unlikely bond with an alien life form that may be key to his survival.

Joining Gosling is Sandra Hüller, the Oscar-nominated actor from Anatomy of a Fall, who plays the scientist responsible for convincing Grace to leave Earth behind.
Gosling, who also serves as a producer, called the film 'an insanely ambitious story that's massive in scope,' during a CinemaCon appearance earlier this year. The project marks another spacefaring role for the actor, who previously portrayed Neil Armstrong in First Man.
Project Hail Mary is slated for theatrical release in 2025.

Megastar Chiranjeevi's magnum opus 'Vishwambhara' is set to be a visual spectacle with record-breaking VFX shots

Picture Credit: X Megastar Chiranjeevi will be in the much-awaited socio-fantasy entertainer 'Vishwambhara', which is touted to be a visual delight with the film heavily relying on high-quality VFX shots. According to a report by IANS, the upcoming film will include an unprecedented number of VFX shots, making it one of the most visually ambitious projects in recent times. Currently in the final stages of post-production, 'Vishwambhara' is being described as a visual extravaganza. The makers have roped in top-tier VFX studios from across Tollywood, Bollywood, and even Hollywood to bring director Vassishta's grand vision to life. These teams are reportedly working to deliver world-class visual effects that can rival any international production. The report also suggests that the film is being treated as a magnum opus, with no compromise on quality or scale. The film's socio-fantasy backdrop gives ample scope for imaginative world-building, and the VFX-heavy treatment is expected to fully immerse viewers in this richly created universe. Chiranjeevi, who leads the ensemble cast, is said to be thrilled with how the film is shaping up in post-production. Earlier during the film's teaser release, 'Vishwambhara' faced backlash after its visuals were revealed to be AI-generated, not CGI. Producer Malladi Satyanarayana Reddy, while speaking with TeluguOne, admitted that due to the time constraints, the team had to use last-minute AI; however, he mentioned these won't appear in the final cut. The film also features Trisha Krishnan and Ashika Ranganath in key roles, with actor Kunal Kapoor playing a significant part in the story. The film has music composed by Oscar-winner MM Keeravani. The film is now undergoing proper CGI work, with a rescheduled release expected in summer 2026.
