All the 2025 Logie Awards nominations revealed
TV presenters All Langdon, Julia Morris, Lisa Millar, Sonia Kruger and Poh Ling Yeow plus veteran Home and Away star Lynne McGranger are competing alongside Blake in the top category.
It makes a noticeable change for the Gold Logie nomination, which is usually fairly evenly split between male and female TV stars. Organisers could be hoping stacking the category with women might up the odds of a female winner, after only three winners in the past 15 years have been women (Kruger in 2023, Carrie Bickmore in 2015 and Asher Keddie in 2013).
And as you'll see in the video at the top of this story, there were awkward scenes at a Logies event held in Sydney this morning, with news.com.au's Andrew Bucklow in attendance to watch it all unfold.
Presenter Tara Rushton announced this year's Gold nominees – but forgot Kruger, who was waiting in the wings to be called to the stage. Rushton had individually invited each nominee to join her on stage, bar McGranger, who she explained couldn't be there.
But there was a visible ripple of panic among the other nominees when Rushton asked the assembled press to 'put your hands together for all your Gold Logie nominees' – with Kruger still left awkwardly offstage, waiting to be announced.
'Oh, hold on – Sonia Kruger! I am never going to live this down,' said Rushton, as Kruger finally made her entrance.
'I'm so sorry, Sonee,' Rushton continued. 'That's me done.'
Elsewhere at the event, news.com.au cornered Hamish Blake to ask the obvious question: What will happen if this year's sole male Gold Logie nominee ends up winning the award?
Blake, who previously won the award in 2022, admitted he was praying that wouldn't be the case.
He told news.com.au in the video below that it felt like a 'mild stitch-up' to be nominated.
'I'm just going to put it on record: never should someone win it less than I should win it this year. I think in this climate, in this day in age, the only guy getting up to win is the last thing anyone wants to see,' he said.
'I'm very happy to be nominated, a wonderful bunch of ladies I'm with … my god, it would be just a disaster if I won it.'
The ultimate winner of the Gold Logie will be determined by public vote and announced at a ceremony held at The Star Sydney on Sunday August 3, broadcast live on Seven.
Voting is now open for all awards and will remain open until 7pm AEST Friday 1 August 2025, except for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter, Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent and the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Reporter which will close 7:30pm AEST Sunday 3 August.
Gold Logie votes will stay open until 10:30pm on Logies night.

Lynne McGranger is the bookies' fave to take out Gold at the 2025 Logies. She's just pleased to be there
Home and Away legend Lynne McGranger heads into Sunday's TV WEEK Logie awards as the favourite to win Gold. If she takes it home, she won't be the only one celebrating. 'My son-in-law messaged me when the news broke about the Gold Logie,' she recounted this week. 'He said, 'I just got you at $3.50 — I put $100 on you', and then he said, 'That's ridiculous, your odds should be much shorter than that!' 'But then within a week, I was $1.70, so now he is very chuffed. 'If I have to get up and make a speech, I'll make it known publicly that he just made $350 off me!' Jokes aside, taking home the coveted Gold Logie would be a fitting bookend to the 33 years McGranger spent on Home and Away playing the beloved Irene Roberts. McGranger, who first joined the soap in 1993, announced she was leaving earlier this year, with her exit storylines — which see her character coming to terms with a devastating Alzheimer's diagnosis — set to play out over the next few weeks. Fans have been invited to say farewell to a TV legend via a specially created website, . They can also show their love via a vote at the Logies. 'It's humbling and really overwhelming to even be nominated,' McGranger says of her nod. 'If I had known this was going to happen, I would have left (the show) years ago! 'But in all seriousness, I am loving the ride — I really am.' McGranger will take her daughter Clancy as her plus-one to Sunday's ceremony in Sydney, where she is up against Sonia Kruger, Hamish Blake, Poh Ling Yeow, Ally Langdon and Lisa Millar for the top award. All those presenters are well-loved, but there can be no denying Irene holds a special place in many viewers' hearts. 'I am so appreciative of all the support I have been getting,' she says of the messages flooding in via Seven's farewell site. Rusted-on Home and Away fans aren't the not the only ones rallying around her — an Instagram meme page called 'Home and a Gay' has long been championing McGranger's iconic performance via satirical posts. She's appreciative of their support, too. 'Have you seen it? It's so funny,' she says. This week McGranger watched her final scenes at a special screening for cast and crew, admitting it was an emotional moment. Producers approached Aussie songstress Jessica Mauboy to use her track, While I Got Time to play over Lynne's final scenes, also used in on-air promotions for the show. 'And it's very moving — the song just lifts things to another level,' she says. The Logies are just the latest engagement in a jam-packed calendar for McGranger, who has been busier than ever since filming her final scenes. As well as enjoying travel time with friends and partner, Paul, McGranger has also been touring her stage show, The Grandparents Club, across the east coast. 'People come up and say, 'how is retirement going?' And I am like, 'What retirement!'' she jokes. 'I am loving it all and I can't complain, but if you see somebody head-first in their soup at the Logies, that will be me — sleeping!' Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News. Hawthorn young gun Jack Ginnivan is the latest AFL player set to be sanctioned for giving the bird to Adelaide supporters. Ginnivan was caught on camera pulling his finger to Crows fans while walking off Adelaide Oval after the Hawks' 14-point loss on Friday night. The 22-year old, who's set to cop a $1000 fine for the incident, took to Instagram to respond to a video of the act with the comment: 'Best coin spent.' FOX FOOTY, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every match of every round in the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season LIVE in 4K, with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Get your first month for just $1. Limited-time offer. Jack Ginnivan caught on camera giving the bird to Crows fans. Jack Ginnivan responded to a video of him flipping the bird. Ginnivan would join the likes of Geelong's Bailey Smith and West Coast's Harley Reid in getting fined for the middle-finger salute in 2025. 'There was definitely a one-fingered salute from Jack Ginnivan,' Herald Sun reporter Jon Ralph said on Fox Footy. 'I think we call that the Bailey Smith ... the going rate is $1000, we saw Bailey Smith double-finger salute and also Harley Reid earlier in the year. 'That's what (Ginnivan) does, that's Hok-ball for you.' Ginnivan was among Hawthorn's best players on Friday night, finishing with 20 disposals and two goals. The youngster's post-game bird weren't his only cheeky antics on the night, with Ginnivan turning to the crowd after kicking an epic goal on his left foot late in the third quarter and pointing to his ear.
