Hailee Steinfeld reveals summer plans with Josh Allen
Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen are not done celebrating. The couple just tied the knot on May 31 in Santa Barbara, Calif., and kept a low profile in the weeks that followed their ceremony. They went on a honeymoon and posted photos online, but have not disclosed where they decided to spend their first trip together as husband and wife. Now, in the latest edition of Steinfeld's newsletter, Beau Society, she shares what she has up her sleeve for the summer.
Steinfeld began the newsletter by speaking about how much fun she had at the ceremony, reception, and their afterparty, where they decided to stay out until 3 a.m.
'When we say the dance floor was popping, it was literally bowing. Our band brought the greatest energy, and in the final minutes of our reception, we jumped on stage with them, and Josh had a rockstar moment quoting the infamous 'I'm not leaving… I'm not [expletive] leaving!' They played us off, and Josh and I made our way to the after party,' she wrote.
Prior to their after-ceremony celebration, Steinfeld shared with her readers how 'stunned' the Buffalo Bills quarterback was when he saw her.
'Okay, Josh says we have to talk about my dress now because I 'stunned' him when I got to the altar,' Steinfeld wrote.
She wore a strapless white Tamara Ralph gown, which she paired with opera gloves, a lace veil, and pearl and diamond earrings.
The couple will be spending their summer in Southern California before Allen begins the Buffalo Bills training camp on July 23rd. Steinfeld shared that she and Allen have simple plans on the calendar this summer.
'4pm dinner. Can you tell we're on East Coast time? I kind of love an early dinner, though,' she joked.
She shared that her last summer was busy with filming for Sinners, where she starred as Mary alongside Michael B. Jordan. The Ryan Coogler-written and directed film stayed at No. 1 at the box office for three weeks straight.
'I'm feeling inspired to make the most of the season! Last summer, I was filming 'Sinners,' which was a life-changing career highlight,' she wrote. But this summer looks a little different. I have a handful of travel commitments for work… but I mostly plan to spend a lot of time barefoot at home, reading, reflecting, cooking, trying new things, and focusing on all things Beau Society.'
The Oscar-nominated actress shared that she wants to start making her own ice cream this summer and that she wants to prioritize her fitness by running 30 miles in 30 days.
'I can't stop thinking about all the possibilities. I'm thinking we'll start with strawberry (not my favorite, but Josh likes it) or coffee crunch,' she wrote.
'Seems manageable if you're thinking a mile a day, but I like to let my body rest on the weekends, so I'll have to double up some days,' she said about her fitness goals.
Another plan she wants to have this summer is to have a dinner party.
'The dress code is 'come as you are,' and everyone brings something for a family-style dinner,' she added.
After their summer plans, next up for Allen is the beginning of his eighth season in the NFL. The Bills first game will be a rematch against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 7.

City of Wilkes-Barre holds Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration
Jul. 5—WILKES-BARRE — The United States' 249th birthday was observed under the sun at Kirby Park on Friday with the city's Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. Food and craft vendors, amusement rides, carnival games, musical performances, and an enormous firework display in the evening were open to the crowd, which came from a variety of areas to celebrate American independence in Wilkes-Barre. The United States Army Field Band performed a free concert on Tuesday, July 1, at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, and, earlier on July 4, the traditional Bernie's Run benefited the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA. At the free concert, veterans in the audience were saluted for their service. It's these kinds of community actions that Mayor George Brown considers when thinking about the Fourth of July. "Today, seeing everybody out and enjoying the beautiful day, knowing that today we're going to have great music, great vendors, and then, at the end, we're going to have a great fireworks display... That'll be the culmination of the Independence Day weekend...," Brown said. "I'm very proud to be an American." Brown, who noted that his father served during World War II in the South Pacific, was chatting with passersby throughout the afternoon, whether they were from the city or not. "What happens in Wilkes-Barre pulls in people from different townships," Brown said of the all-encompassing nature of the Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. David Harter, of Mountain Top, was one of the residents who came to Wilkes-Barre from elsewhere in Luzerne County. The main draw to Kirby Park was the music. "The groups," Harter answered when asked about why he chose to come to the Wilkes-Barre for the Fourth of July for the second year in a row. Triple Fret, Eddie Day & TNT, Fuzzy Park, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic were on Friday's performing schedule. "The only suggestion that I would have is to put some shade trees out there," Harter added, pointing to a large sunny spot in the field in front of the Kirby Park stage. In addition to the musical performances, Harter was looking forward to the fireworks at night and the assortment of food options situated behind him. "I think after we're done listening, we're going to do a walk-through to check out the vendors," he said. Other celebrants came from even further away to experience Wilkes-Barre. Kenneth Jones, of New York, said he walked around Kirby Park and the River Common on Thursday night, and realized that Friday would be an exciting day for the community. That's why he was back for the holiday, keeping cool in the shade and watching over the Kirby Park pond. Jones said that most of his time in Northeast Pennsylvania has been spent in the Poconos, but is now realizing that Wilkes-Barre has a lot of history and nature to explore. In the context of the modern era, the admirable bonding displayed by the people in Kirby Center for the Fourth of July taps into some much-needed community-building. "We were just saying every community should have it," Jones said of the Fourth of July celebration. "It brings community together. Especially in the times we're living in now, we need all the community fun we can have while we can have it."

Former NFL LB Bryan Braman fights rare form of brain cancer
Former NFL linebacker Bryan Braman is fighting a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, at the age of 38. Diagnosed in February, he has had multiple surgeries while undergoing treatment in Seattle. Via a GoFundMe page has been created to assist Braman with expenses arising from his treatment. As of this posted, more than $53,000 has been raised. Former teammate J.J. Watt has given $10,000, and other former teammates have contributed. Advertisement Braman and Watt joined the Texans in the year — 2011. Braman was undrafted, but he made the team and remained in Houston for three seasons. He played the next four years with the Eagles. Braman capped his NFL career with a win over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII. En route to the championship, Braman blocked a punt in the divisional round win over the Falcons. Braman, who appeared in 97 career regular-season games, contributed mainly on special teams. One of his more memorable moments came in the final game of his rookie season, when he lost his helmet and still made the tackle on a punt return.

ESPN analyst slammed for saying Fever is 'more dangerous' without Caitlin Clark amid injury absence
Amid Caitlin Clark's extended injury absence from the Indiana Fever, at least one media pundit has suggested the team is better without the superstar. ESPN's Carolyn Peck said on the network on Thursday that Indiana is a "more dangerous" team without Clark on the floor. "I think that Indiana is even more dangerous when Caitlin Clark doesn't play, because she's a ball-dominant guard," she said. "The ball's in her hands a lot, so you know what you need to try to take away. But when you look at Indiana now, they've got so many weapons." Peck gave specific praise to Fever players Kelsey Mitchell, Aari McDonald and Aliyah Boston. Peck did not appear to give praise to Fever stars Sophie Cunningham or Lexie Hull. "When you have a point guard like Kelsey Mitchell, and Aari McDonald making plays on the perimeter, and a post like Aliyah Boston, I'm gonna tell you: Indiana, they are a threat. And it's specifically on the defensive end," Peck said. Peck's comments went viral on social media, inciting the wrath of Clark's loyal supporters. Barstool founder Dave Portnoy reposted the clip of Peck's comments on X, writing, "I knew this was gonna happen." The popular sports commentary X account "BricksCenter" also shared the clip, writing, "Their hatred toward CC needs to be studied." Hundreds of smaller accounts made their criticisms of Peck's analysis known. "ESPN would be a lot more 'dangerous' without Carolyn Peck," one user wrote. Another user wrote, "All of Peck's takes on CC last year ended being wrong and I don't expect anything different from this season." One user even went so far as to say, "ESPN analyst Carolyn Peck is a hater and a fool." Peck was the women's basketball head coach at Purdue when current Fever head coach Stephanie White was a player there. Together, they won the NCAA title in 1999. Clark has missed the team's last four games with a groin injury and will miss a fifth on Saturday against the LA Sparks. She previously missed five games with a quad injury. With Clark, Indiana is 5–4, averaging an 85.0 offensive rating. Without Clark, the team is 5–4 with an average 80.2 offensive rating.
