Andrea Torres on learning to give herself credit: 'Lahat ng meron ako, na-earn ko 'yun, nilaban ko 'yun'
Andrea Torres turned emotional as she acknowledged that she sometimes forgets to give herself credit, noting that while she still has many dreams to fulfill, she has also already achieved a lot.
In her GMA Integrated News interview with Nelson Canlas, which aired in "24 Oras" Tuesday, Andrea shared that there comes a point in life when she reflects about her goals and whether or not she's on the right path.
"May time pa ba? Nasa tamang landas ba ako? Masyado na bang malaki 'yung dream ko na umaasa akong masyadong maaabot ko ito or kailangan ba maging realistic ka, medyo mag step back ka?" she said.
The Sparkle actress then teared up when she shared that her mindset about appreciating herself has changed recently.
"Medyo nagbago na rin 'yung mindset ko, syempre you have to help yourself. Na-realize ko na minsan nakakalimutan mo na oo, marami ka pang gustong gawin, pero marami ka na rin nagawa, na nakakalimutan mo bigyan ng credit 'yung sarili mo na na-achieve mo 'yun" she said, turning emotional.
According to Andrea, she sometimes thinks to herself why things do not always go easily for her.
"Minsan kasi ang iniisip ko, bakit ganun, bakit sa akin ang hirap? Ba't hindi nagkakaroon ng moments na parang ayan, binigay lang sa 'yo? Siguro mas dapat kong isipin at least masasabi ko na lahat ng meron ako, na -earn ko 'yun. Nilaban ko 'yun," she said.
'And nakatulong 'yun sa 'kin ngayon kasi iba 'yung appreciation mo sa work mo," she added.
During her interview, Andrea also shared how she leans on her family for support. She also called her brother Kenneth who has autism and Down syndrome as her lucky charm.
"Alam naming na binigay siya sa 'min kasi siguro capable kami na magmahal nang ganun kalaki, iba 'yung tanggal ng pagod once ngitian ka, once na i-hug ka, every birthday niya July 27, may big thing na nangyayari sa 'kin. Lucky charm," she said.
Andrea Torres is set to star in the series "Akusada."
She will be joined by Benjamin Alves, Lianne Valentin, Marco Masa, Sandy Andolong, and more.
'Akusada' is directed by award-winning director Dominic Zapata and will begin airing on June 30 at 4 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.

Mitena (Rhian Ramos) has been collecting queens like Thanos collects Infinity Stones. Monday's episode of "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" showed Mitena capturing former queen of Lireo Danaya (Sanya Lopez) and current queen of Sapiro Armea (Ysabel Ortega). Armea was the first to confront Mitena to seek revenge for her mother, Alena (Gabbi Garcia), who was previously captured by the Ice Queen. Mitena used her scepter to torture Armea and trapped her inside a crystal, like she did with Alena. Later, Pirena (Glaiza De Castro) fought many Mine-a-ve soldiers to engage Mitena in battle. Pirena and Mitena clashed in a fierce showdown, wielding the powers of the Brilyante ng Apoy and the Brilyante ng Tubig—the latter of which Mitena had stolen earlier. While Pirena was on the brink of defeat, Danaya arrived just in time to help her sister in the battle against Mitena, wielding the power of the Brilyante ng Lupa. Using her powers and scepter, Mitena attempted to absorb Danaya and Pirena's gems. When they realized what happened, Pirena cast the "Ivictus" spell and vanished from the battlefield. Danaya failed to disengage like Pirena and Mitena succeeded in seizing the Brilyante ng Lupa. She was later trapped inside a crystal, just as Mitena had done with Armea and Alena. Inside the crystal, Danaya prayed to Emre for Terra's safety and protection in the mortal world, choosing to conceal her child's true identity and powers until she comes of age. Meanwhile, another major character died in the episode: Azulan, Pirena's husband and Flamarra's father. "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs weeknights on GMA Network at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." Ysabel Ortega admits she felt challenged by Enchan, fight scenes in 'Sang'gre'
Ysabel Ortega admitted she felt challenged learning Enchan, the fictional language in Encantadia, as well as the fight scenes she had to do in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre." In Aubrey Carampel's report in "24 Oras" Monday, the Sparkle star shared that there were times she would forget the nuances of language when they were shooting scenes for the series. "Sobrang complex pala ng mundo [ng Encantadia], it's literally an alternate universe to the point na first day ko, as in, may mga times na I still forget 'yung mga nuances. May isa akong eksena nasabi ko, 'Tulungan mo ko, please' so syempre nag-cut kami. Sabi nila, 'Ysabel walang please sa Encantadia ha,'" she said. Ysabel also talked about her challenging yet rewarding role as Armea, which required fight scenes. "More on refresher na lang sa sword fighting, kasi sword po 'yung weapon ko dito sa 'Sang'gre,' so of course training din for the scenes that we have," she said. "Nag-t-training talaga kami a day before shooting para talagang ma-master na 'yung mga fight scenes na gagawin namin for the show," she added. Ysabel stars as Armea, the daughter of King Ybrahim (Ruru Madrid) and Queen Alena (Gabbi Garcia) of Sapiro. On last Wednesday's episode, Armea was officially crowned queen of the kingdom following the death of Ybrahim.
