Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray jointly participated in a rally in Mumbai to celebrate the victory after the Maharashtra state government rolled back its decision to introduce Hindi as the third language in primary schools.
Referring to Raj Thackeray's questions at the rally- 'What is the third language in UP or Rajasthan?' and 'Why is Hindi being forced on non-Hindi-speaking states while Hindi-speaking states remain economically backward?', Stalin said, 'I know the union government, which gives preference to developing Hindi and Sanskrit, will have no answers to these questions.'
'Will the union government shed its vindictive approach of insisting on the three-language policy under the NEP and release the Rs 2,152 crore SSA funds to Tamil Nadu?' the CM asked.

The statement comes following the killing of Bihar-based businessman Gopal Khemka outside his house in Gandhi Maidan locality at 11.40 pm on Friday. Khemka, who was reportedly associated with the BJP, was shot dead by an unidentified armed assailant when he was about to alight from his car. Khemka's murder comes seven years after miscreants had gunned down his son in Hajipur. Following the murder, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar convened a meeting on Saturday to review the law and order situation and instructed officials concerned to complete the investigation into the killing of Khemka at the earliest. The Congress leader also asserted that in the upcoming polls, the vote will not be just to change the government, but to save the state. Tejashwi also attacked the NDA government saying that law and order has collapsed in Bihar and went on to claim that the state has witnessed "65,000 murders" in the last couple of decades.

In an advertisement carried in newspapers in Hindi, the office of the Bihar Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has now asked voters to submit forms without the required documents. Following backlash and concerns regarding the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) electoral rolls in Bihar ahead of the assembly polls, the state's poll body on Sunday eased the rules where the people now can submit the filled-out electoral forms without the requisite documents if they do not possess them. In an advertisement carried in newspapers in Hindi, the office of the Bihar Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has now asked voters to submit forms without the required documents, which can be submitted later. 'Fill and submit your enumeration forms with documents and your photograph to BLOs as early as possible. If you do not have requisite documents, send the filled-out, signed forms to the BLOs," the advertisement said. 'If you provide the required documents, it will help the Electoral Registration Officer to process your application more easily. If you are unable to submit the required documents, the Electoral Registration Officer may take a decision based on a local inquiry or verification of other supporting documents," the advertisement further read. The state's poll body has further directed the Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) to upload all the filled-out, signed forms, while the documents can be submitted later.
