SAW XI Delayed Indefinitely, THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER 2 Takes Its Fall 2025 Release Date

Yahoo25-03-2025
It appears that Jigsaw will not be appearing this fall to terrify moviegoers, as is tradition. Sadly, it looks like Saw XI has been delayed indefinitely, thanks to disagreements behind-the-scenes. This news originally came to light late last week. But Lionsgate isn't leaving a proper horror film out of their Halloween season plans. Despite Saw XI being taken off the calendar, via The Hollywood Reporter, we've learned that Lionsgate has turned over the September 26 slot to a different horror show, The Strangers: Chapter 2.
This doesn't mean that Jigsaw won't be back at some point, however. No, the iconic cinematic killer never goes away for very long. He simply makes too much money to ever retire. On Monday, Lionsgate shared a 'statement' from Billy the Puppet, the ventriloquist dummy used in most of the films by the character of John Kramer, aka Jigsaw: The statement, rather hilariously, came over LinkedIn, where Billy's status remained 'Employed.' It said 'I've seen the rumors. They say it's Game Over. You all should know me better than that. The game is never over.' With ten entries in the Saw franchise since James Wan's 2004 original, it is very evident that indeed, the game will never be over. One way or another, Jigsaw will always find a way to come back.
Meanwhile, getting the coveted spooky season release window is a show of confidence from Lionsgate in The Strangers franchise, which began in 2008. Lionsgate then revived the franchise last year, announcing a whole new trilogy for the home invasion horror series. Madelaine Petsch reprises her role after starring in The Strangers: Chapter 1, which Lionsgate released in May, 2024. This marks the second feature in the planned stand-alone The Strangers trilogy. Lionsgate shot the second and third movies consecutively after the first one. Hopefully, we'll find out soon what the future holds for the eleventh Saw movie as The Strangers takes its place.

Scooter Braun and Justin Bieber ‘Squash' Their Issues as Music Exec Steps Down as HYBE CEO

Scooter Braun and Justin Bieber have reportedly buried the hatchet. Two years after their decision to part ways professionally, the 'Baby' singer, 31, allegedly still owed the HYBE America CEO millions of dollars in connection with his cancelled 2022 Justice tour. However, the pair have 'squashed their issues and are in a good place' now, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A source told the outlet that Braun, 44, wanted to make sure this was done before stepping down as CEO so he could 'leave the company, and Justin, in a good position.' As for what's next for the music mogul, he is set to transition into a new role as senior advisor to HYBE founder Bang Si-Hyuk. Braun will also join the HYBE Board of Directors. 'Scooter has been an extraordinary partner, a visionary executive, and a true catalyst for cultural exchange,' Chairman Bang said in a statement. 'His contributions have been vital in establishing our ambitious presence in the U.S. market. I am deeply grateful for his leadership, his astute instincts and his unwavering passion for artists. We wish him immense success in his exciting next chapter and look forward to continuing our partnership in executing HYBE's global vision.' The news comes weeks after Braun spoke out on the current status of his relationship with the 'Peaches' artist during a June appearance on the Diary of a CEO podcast. 'I'm very proud of what we achieved and always rooting for him,' Braun explained, but noted that his friendship with Bieber was 'not the same' as it once was. 'We worked together for so long and we had such extreme success, and I think you get to a point as a man where you want to show the world you can do it on your own,' he continued. 'And I completely respect that. I think at this point, that's what he's doing. Myself and everyone from the old team is rooting for him.' For the time being, Braun said he would be a 'cheerleader from side' for Bieber, as he hopes for all the artists that he's worked with – which include Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande – to be successful in the industry. The music manager also clarified that he wasn't 'hurt' by Bieber's decision to part ways, adding that he'd felt the same way at the time. 'I wanted to find out who I was, I wanted to experiment with a different career,' he shared. 'We were both communicating enough with each other. The writing was on the wall.'

Nostalgic arcade restaurant chain unveils new spinoff concept

Nothing is more nostalgic than arcades, with neon lights, endless games, and a little competition among friends. Winning tickets was addictive, and collecting as many as possible to redeem them for prizes made us want to stay all day, if our parents - or our allowances - allowed it. They were like the kid-friendly version of casinos, which might have been early signs that a slight gambling addiction was on the way for some. Nonetheless, they formed a memorable part of our childhoods. The financial strains were too much for the business to handle, leading it to make a devastating decision that all companies fear. The new Chuck's Arcade locations are now open nationwide across major malls in St. Petersburg, Florida; Trumbull, Connecticut; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma; Victor, New York; Buford, Georgia; El Paso, Texas; Nashua and Salem, New Hampshire; and St. Louis. These first few locations are only the beginning, as Chuck E. Cheese is planning a massive expansion, with 10 more upcoming locations across eight states.
