While several Serie A matches were postponed following the death and subsequent funeral of Pope Francis this week, the Atalanta-Lecce game was rearranged for a different reason.
On Friday morning, it was confirmed that the team's longstanding physiotherapist Graziano Fiorita had died during the team's pre-match training camp. The game scheduled to take place that evening was called off, but will now take place on Sunday evening, just two days after the tragic news broke.

Lecce have made it clear that they did not wish to play on Sunday, so soon after the loss of one of their beloved members of staff. Reports on Saturday suggested that the team did not even want to travel to Bergamo for the Atalanta game.

However, reports on Sunday confirm that the team have set off for Bergamo and are due to play against Atalanta at 19.45 BST.
According to updates from TMW, however, Lecce sporting director Stefano Trinchera and team manager Claudio Vino have not travelled with the squad, which is usually a formality.
Additionally, Minister of Sport Andrea Abodi reportedly tried to intervene and arrange another postponement given the troubling few days that Lecce have endured.

Deadline SET for Liverpool forward deal

Chiesa wanted by Napoli One of those touted for a sale has been Federico Chiesa. The 27-year-old appears to be surplus to requirements following a poor first season on Merseyside. He has been left out of Liverpool's preseason tour as he and his representatives attempt to secure a move away. Several teams in Italy - most notably Atalanta and AC Milan - are reported to be interested in the winger. And now it's emerged that Napoli have not gone away - despite reports that they would be seeking a deal for Dan Ndoye of Bologna instead. Chiesa - along with Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling - remain on Napoli's radar as a potential Plan B in case a deal for Ndoye cannot be done. July 30 the deadline for Chiesa deal And Antonio Conte's side are seeking to wrap up this transfer quickly. A report in Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Conte wants his squad complete by July 30 for his team's preseason training camp at Castel di Sangro. 'Chiesa hasn't been called up by Liverpool for their tour of Asia, and his time in England already seems to be coming to an end. Napoli could offer him the chance to redeem himself, provided the winger reduces his salary demands,' a report reads. Chiesa is making around £120k per week on a contract until 2028 - and Italian sides have previously been put off by those demands. © IMAGO - Arne Slot Federico Chiesa Liverpool 2024-25 Back in January, plenty of interest in Chiesa materialised from Serie A when it became clear that he was homesick. Despite the attentions of the aforementioned teams - as well as Roma and Inter - Chiesa stayed at Anfield. In all he played only SIX times in the Premier League - to no great effect - and barely impressed in his other outings either. If Liverpool can make back the £12.5m or so they paid to Juventus last September - and a resolution can be found over his wages - then expect to see Chiesa leave as soon as this week.

He can then meet up with the squad in their Bressanone pre-season training camp. Formerly of Ipswich Town, Chelmsford, Ayr United, Burton Albion, Salford, Fleetwood and of course Kilmarnock, last season he made 38 competitive appearances for his club, contributing one goal and one assist. The situation is moving rapidly, as Football Insider only confirmed today that Kilmarnock had accepted and offer and he would start talks for personal terms.

Manchester United Are In The Running To Recruit This PSG Striker: Should Amorim Get Him On Board?

In a recent report, Corriere dello Sport stated that Manchester United are in the running to recruit Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the France international to the Theatre of Dreams this summer. Kolo Muani's Impressive Loan Spell In Italian Football Kolo Muani enjoyed a decent loan spell at Juventus recently as he managed to produce a run of impressive performances for them on the offensive end of the pitch. The French attacker was involved in 22 matches for the Turin outfit last season, netting ten goals and earning three assists across multiple competitions. The 26-year-old led the line well for Juve based on his average of 1.94 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He kept 52% of his attempts on target. However, Kolo Muani needs to work on improving his link-up play up top after making just 69.9% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via His current contract at Paris Saint-Germain will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, Man United would have to launch a convincing offer if they want to sign the French talent this off-season. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images) Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Get Kolo Muani On Board? Kolo Muani is proficient at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and is a good runner with the ball at his feet. The French sensation can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent's goal. However, he has to figure out a way to improve his ball distribution up top. Furthermore, Kolo Muani might struggle to maintain his good form in the Premier League if Man United manage to snap him up in this transfer window. Still, the Frenchman would undoubtedly bring more quality to Ruben Amorim's frontline. He would serve as an upgrade over Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee at the Mancunian club. Kolo Muani is good enough to compete with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for a regular starting spot at Old Trafford next season. Therefore, Man United would be wise to get him on board soon.
