He made the remarks while addressing a press conference at the Aizawl Press Club, marking 11 years of Modi's leadership.
Quoting PM Modi's statement, "The strength of our nation lies in its people," Antony emphasised that visionary policies have empowered citizens, especially those from marginalised backgrounds, to contribute to the Viksit Bharat (Developed India) mission.
Since assuming office in 2014, Modi introduced the inclusive slogan Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and launched initiatives such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Ujjwala Yojana to uplift the poor and provide access to housing, drinking water, and cooking gas to millions.
Antony pointed to infrastructure as a top priority under Modi's leadership, citing the construction of high-quality highways, universal household electrification, access to clean water, and digital empowerment under Digital India.
"Today's development reflects the PM's vision that every village should be connected by quality roads," he said.
Under the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, free rations are provided to more than 81 crore citizens, ensuring that no one is left behind.
He also highlighted Ayushman Bharat, which offers free healthcare to the underprivileged, the Swachh Bharat Mission, which has improved sanitation in villages and towns, and Jan Dhan Yojana, which has brought over 55 crore people into the banking system.
Referring to Modi's statement, "If villages progress, the nation progresses," Antony said India has made significant strides in security, empowerment, and development and remains committed to reaching those yet to fully benefit from these advances.

Women's empowerment has been another priority, with improved facilities, increased opportunities, and programs aimed at strengthening their participation in the workforce, he added.
Antony also underscored India's growing security capabilities under Modi's leadership, citing strong responses to national security threats, including the surgical strikes after Uri, airstrikes in Balakot after Pulwama, and the recent Operation Sindoor.
He said these actions demonstrated India's military strength to the world.
"The BJP-led NDA government under PM Modi has generated employment, boosted manufacturing, and positioned India as the world's fourth-largest economy," Antony said, adding that Modi's leadership has propelled India onto the global stage, with the developmental achievements of the past 11 years signalling a bright future for the country.

Calcutta HC orders CBI probe into 3 BJP workers' murder in Sandeshkhali

Six years after three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were allegedly killed and their bodies mutilated in Sandeshkhali, North 24 Parganas, the Calcutta High Court on Monday ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. Justice Joy Sengupta directed that the CBI's Joint Director lead the investigation, with progress monitored by the trial court. In June 2019, BJP workers Pradeep Mondal, Devdas Mondal and Sukanta Mondal were found dead. Their families, Supriya Mondal and Padma Mondal, filed two FIRs, and the state CID initially handled the case. Sheikh Shahjahan, a prime accused, was later dropped from both charge sheets, according to the victims' relatives. On January 8 last year, backed by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, the families returned to the High Court, seeking a CBI probe. Shahjahan has been in judicial custody since his arrest on January 5, 2024, following an alleged assault on ED officers during a raid at his Sandeshkhali home. His bail plea is pending before the High Court. Locals, especially women, have long protested Shahjahan's influence, accusing him and his associates of land grabs, forced fish pond construction on occupied fields and harassment of residents. Opposition parties, including the BJP, staged demonstrations in response to these allegations. In June 2019, three BJP-affiliated workers were found murdered in Sandeshkhali (North 24 Parganas) amid violent street clashes between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP. Investigators initially linked the killings to local TMC strongman Sheikh Shahjahan, but the state CID later removed his name from the chargesheet. The families alleged police inaction on a 2019 FIR that named Shahjahan. They even sought court protection and a CBI probe. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said the victims' relatives feared reprisals and were placed in a police safe house for protection.

Her remarks come as External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is currently visiting the United States to participate in the QUAD Foreign Ministers' Meeting. The QUAD, consisting of Australia, India, Japan, and the US, is focused on promoting a free, open, and resilient Indo-Pacific. The alliance began as a coordinated humanitarian response following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Meanwhile, it was earlier confirmed on June 18 that US President Donald Trump accepted PM Modi's invitation to attend the upcoming QUAD Summit in New Delhi. India-US trade talks On June 26, India and the US began another round of bilateral trade talks aimed at finalising an early harvest deal before the US imposes country-specific reciprocal tariffs on imports from 57 countries, including India, starting July 9, according to people familiar with the discussions. Led by chief negotiator and special secretary for commerce Rajesh Agrawal, the Indian delegation arrived in Washington for a two-day round of talks beginning last week. The main goal of this round is to address existing trade disputes and reach an interim agreement that could form the basis for the first phase of a Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) by September or October 2025. After this initial phase, both sides are expected to begin negotiations for a full-fledged free trade agreement (FTA) with the aim of doubling bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030. India is pushing for the US to roll back all current and planned retaliatory tariffs, including a 26% reciprocal tariff – comprising a 10% duty that took effect on April 5 and an additional 16% set to begin from July 9. Sources involved in the talks said most of the elements of a preliminary agreement have been ironed out by negotiators, but final decisions now rest with the political leadership to resolve a few remaining differences. Two major sticking points continue to hold up the deal, they added. India is also urging the US to eliminate safeguard duties – currently being challenged at the World Trade Organisation – such as the 50% tariffs on steel and aluminium and the 25% duties on automobiles and auto parts. In return, India expects Washington to lower its most favoured nation (MFN) tariffs proportionately.
