Introducing next generation nepo baby Eric Cowell as he moves more into the spotlight: How Simon and his fiancée Lauren Silverman's son, 11, enjoys yoga and has a godfather figure in Bruno Tonioli - but he's 'never spoiled!'

Daily Mail29-05-2025
gave an unprecedented look into the life of her youngest son Eric who she shares with her fiancé Simon Cowell as she opened up in a new interview this week.
The 47-year-old entrepreneur and socialite spoke lovingly about Eric, 11, while making an appearance at The Chelsea Flower show with Simon's Britain's Got Talent co-star Bruno Tonioli.
Part of the next generation of nepo babies, Bruno insisted that Eric is 'not spoiled at all' and is 'very well brought up' despite his famous parents.
Bruno also lifted the lid on Simon, 65, and Lauren's life in the Cotswolds where he said Eric loves to get involved in family yoga sessions when Bruno comes to stay with them.
The interview marks the continuation to Eric being more in the spotlight after his life being kept very private for much of his early life.
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop.
It began with Eric appearing on Britain's Got Talent with Simon last May after years of the couple not rarely showing his face or speaking about him in interviews.
Now Lauren has revealed that Bruno is very much known as 'Uncle Bruno' to Eric who 'loves him'.
Bruno added of Eric while speaking to Closer magazine: 'He's not spoiled at all actually. Eric is a very, very, very well brought up kid. I mean he's not spoiled at all.'
On Eric now coming to some of the BGT shows as he moves more into the public eye Lauren said in the interview: 'It's a family show. And the nice thing is, like the other judges, like Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, all of their kids and Eric they've grown up together.
'So it's a really nice family kind of vibe there. It's lovely!'
Earlier this month Simon gave a rare insight into his family album as he shared pictures of his lookalike son Eric during sun-soaked dog walk.
The music mogul shared rare snaps of his 11-year-old son with his 2.7million followers as they posed with their German Shepherd dog.
The father and son duo rocked similar outfits for the outing, both donning dark T-shirts with Simon opting for a pair of black tracksuit bottoms while Eric donned black shorts and Nike trainers.
Simon and Eric were also seen crouching down petting their adorable pet pooch and the TV star was seen holding a ball in his hand.
He wrote: '1. Love, 2. Even more love, 3. It was a long walk'.
And in December last year, Simon showed his competitive side as he enjoyed a swimming race with his son Eric.
The TV judge took to Instagram as he shared a rare video of the pair as they took to the pool to go head to head.
Eric secured the victory as he exclaimed: 'I win I win', before celebrating and ordering his dad out of the shot.
Talking to the camera, Simon joked: 'Well that was difficult but it was worth it,' as Eric boasted: 'I won, I won, get out the picture, I won.'
The music mogul looked to be enjoying an escape from the UK winter as he donned a pair of stylish shades in the sunny pool.
Simon teased in the caption: 'I still think I won! Love, Simon x'.
Last May Simon let his son Eric and Amanda Holden 's daughter Hollie gatecrash the Britain's Got Talent auditions.
Japanese skipping act Haribow took to the stage, sending the audience wild as they begged the judges to give them a golden buzzer - but all of them had already been used.
As the crowd's chants grew louder, Simon said he had 'never heard a reaction like that before' before gesturing to his son Eric to push the button.
'Okay… alright… You do it,' Simon said, as Eric and Hollie, 12, leapt to their feet and darted for the judges' bench, slamming the golden buzzer and sending Harbow through to the live semi-finals.
Simon said: 'That was my son, Amanda's daughter, egged on by the audience. We are going to see you in the finals, congratulations.'
Last June Simon broke down in tears as he revealed he felt he 'had nothing to live for' after his parents died but that having his son saved him.
He spoke in one of his most open and emotional interviews ever on the Diary of a CEO podcast with Steven Bartlett where he told how after his losses he 'reached the point where nothing mattered'.
He spoke of his incredible relationships with his mum Julie and dad Eric and the devastation he felt at their passing - before being 'saved' when his partner Lauren told him she was expecting a baby.
They welcomed their son Eric in 2014 - which Simon said 'changed everything' after his mental state reached the 'lowest level possible'.
He said as he broke down: 'Before him I had reached the point where nothing mattered. It all hit me so hard. Being on TV I felt like a clown because I was dying inside. I put on loads of weight.
'If I was going to be hit by a bus the next day - I wasn't worried about anything like that. The whole time was dark. It was the lowest level. I can relate when people say that being alive doesn't matter anymore.
'I thought "what have I got to live for?" I didn't want to take my own life but I thought "if something terrible happens to me it wouldn't bother me". I do still suffer with depression sometimes.'
He spoke about descending into a deep depression in the midst of his grief and realised that 'material things meant nothing'.
Simon also became a workaholic to deal with his pain, explaining: 'After losing them all the material things I had meant nothing.
'I was on a downward spiral. I was desperately unhappy so I thought I would just become a vampire and I would work till 7am.
'I got addicted to that lifestyle. I had to find something to fill the loss and I became a workaholic. I was very successful but so unhappy. '
On finding out Lauren was pregnant he added: 'I got the call from Lauren and she said "are you sitting down?" That's how you know it's something big!
'And it changed everything. It made me happy again, it was perfect.'

The Couple Next Door finale review — the swingers go ludicrous

When I reviewed the first episode of The Couple Next Door (Channel 4) I wrote approvingly that it seemed as if it might be a little less crazed than series one and its swinger neighbours. That'll teach me. The finale was completely, utterly off its head. Watching it was like fever-dreaming after a night on the cheese and port plus a tab of LSD. Were we really expected to believe that Jacob (Sam Palladio), the mild-mannered, slightly dull anaesthetist, would turn overnight into a mad, conniving wife-killer because he feared being exposed for making a clinical error in not giving a patient potassium, which caused his death? Or something. Yes, Jacob probably would go to prison for framing the hot nurse Mia (Aggy K Adams) for it, but please. Would he really try to murder the love of his life just because she said she'd sussed him? He took her to the partly built new hospital wing and gave her coffee laced with morphine … in the middle of a busy day at work! Hello? What about cameras? And why were there conveniently no workmen there, even though the building was still being finished? 'It'll be over soon,' he said like a true baddie as Charlotte (Annabel Scholey) staggered like a shot stag and he used her phone to write a fake suicide note. • The Couple Next Door review — C4's hottest drama is still shameless 'You're having a breakdown!' she managed to say before passing out, a ludicrous bit of exposition. These four words supposedly explained his complete character change to instant psychopath. If this is what real hospitals are like — medics popping illegal pills and altering patient records, senior doctors having threesomes with the sexy new nurse from Norway — no wonder you can't get your hip replacement. This scene was even more preposterous than the one earlier in the series when Charlotte passed out on the sofa after too much wine and Jacob and Mia had sex on a chair 2ft away when his wife could have woken at any second. What a pity Alan the pervert (Hugh Dennis) didn't have his telescope out that night. The content would have sustained him for weeks. Actually I'll say this for The Couple Next Door, which is based on the Dutch series Nieuwe Buren: there aren't many series that would make the local peeping Tom the hero and have his voyeurism save the day. If he hadn't been training his big instrument on Mia in her house, he wouldn't have seen that she was being terrorised by her former therapist, with his terrible man bun and who had abused her as a traumatised teenager, and managed to save her. Dirty old man in woolly hat comes good! Actually, Alan was the best character in it, having been in the first series a completely unlikeable perv who treated his wife selfishly. In this series he found his redemption by showing shame, contrition and genuine kindness to Charlotte's dementia-suffering father, Henry (Jeff Rawle). There was even a sniff of romance with Yvonne (Tanya Moodie) and the possibility that he would look after Henry while Charlotte went off to do good works in Mozambique (don't ask), presumably while Jacob rotted in jail, something she seemed to get over pretty sharpish. • Read more TV reviews, guides about what to watch and interviews Just when I thought it couldn't get any more ludicrous it ended with Mia in Antwerp working as a tour guide wearing a ridiculous wig and eyeing up the next couple she was going to seduce into a throuple. Hilarious. You're probably thinking: surely they can't wring another sex and swingers series out of Appleby Drive, Leeds? (Yes, I know it looks more like a suburb of LA.) Oh, I think they probably can. I just pray that next time it isn't the newly reformed Alan throwing his car keys in the fruit bowl.★★☆☆☆ Love TV? Wes Streeting orders his officials to turn their focus to keeping patients safe during doctors strikes after peace talks with the British Medical Association broke down

Wes Streeting has ordered his officials to turn their focus to keeping patients safe during doctors strikes after union peace talks broke down. The health secretary has told the British Medical Association that 'all areas of engagement' with its leaders will now 'cease' so mandarins can 'prioritise minimising the impact of the strike action'. He said it is clear they have 'chosen a path of full dispute', showing 'scant regard for patients' and and accused them of failing to act in 'good faith'. Up to 50,000 resident doctors - formerly known as junior doctors - will walkout for five days from 7am on Friday in pursuit of a 29 per cent pay rise. They have already received above inflation pay rises for the past three years, worth an extra 28.9 per cent in total, following previous strikes. The BMA and Department of Health and Social Care held talks over the weekend with the aim of negotiating a settlement. But the BMA's resident doctors committee rejected the proposal on Tuesday and said it would plough ahead with industrial action. Mr Streeting responded to the leaders of the RDC today criticising them for turning their back on a deal in favour of a 'reckless and irresponsible' walkout. In a letter, seen by the Daily Mail, he wrote: 'The decision taken by your committee to commence strike action this week is reckless and irresponsible. 'Strike action should always be a last resort. 'Instead, it seems to be the BMA RDC's weapon of choice, with scant regard for patients or other NHS staff who will be left picking up the pieces of your actions.' He said he had been clear he could not offer higher pay rises but was willing to negotiate on other areas that would improve their finances and working conditions. 'There have been multiple discussions in which it is now clear that you have not engaged in the same good faith,' he added. 'Strike action costs the NHS in so many ways, and there are significant implications not only to patients but on the improvements that this government can deliver to the NHS for everyone. 'With strikes going ahead, I cannot in good conscience let patients, or other NHS staff pay the price for your decision. 'You have clearly chosen a path of full dispute, and this has consequences for the whole of the NHS system. 'I will therefore be asking my department to prioritise minimising the impact of the strike action and all areas of engagement with the BMA RDC will, by virtue of your decision, now cease.' Mr Streeting said he came into office with a 'genuine desire' to work with the resident doctors to improve their lives but they have 'squandered that opportunity and exhausted our good will'. He finished by urging them to reconsider their position and said resident doctors on the frontline would have a 'better path to a brighter future' if they had 'better leadership'. Membership groups representing NHS managers have warned the strikes will cause widespread disruption and put patients at risk of harm. Opinion polls show the public is opposed to the industrial action, which could see consultant members of the BMA cashing in by charging £6,000 to cover on-call rotas over the weekend. The union says the pay of resident doctors has been cut in real terms since 2008 and it wants to achieve full pay restoration.

Love Island in ‘fix' row as fans insist producers are meddling in couple after shock return is confirmed

LOVE Island has been engulfed in a new 'fix' row as fans insisted producers are meddling in one of the couples. It was confirmed that one former ITV2 contestant in this series is set to make a dramatic return to the long-running dating show. 7 7 7 On Love Island, Shakira Khan is supposed to be very happy in a couple with Conor Phillips. However, he expressed that she might be putting up walls within the confines of their relationship on Love Island. She later admitted in the morning that she was battling "suppressed emotions," when it comes to Harry Cooksley. This was after the professional footballer became closed off after he made his partnership with Helena Ford 'exclusive.' Shakira admitted: "I'm trying, but it doesn't help that Harry and Helena are in my face all the time. "Because I'm constantly battling suppressed emotions and it's not like I want to act on it." She added: "If I put all my cards on the table with Harry, he would act on it. The exclusive doesn't mean jack s***." It was previously confirmed that Conor's villa ex, Megan Forte Clarke, would be returning to the villa. Many viewers have grown suspicious of the timing as Conor and Shakira's relationship faces problems. They allege that producers have had a role in the apparent breakdown of the fledgling romance as they took to social media in droves. On X - formerly known as Twitter - one fan wrote: "This episode feels so manufactured, Conor coincidentally doubting his feelings towards Shakira and Megan surprisingly turning up ?? I hate the producers." A second stated: "The producers are defo setting up for Conor to go back to Megan once she's back in the villa. What have they got against Shakira when Meg and Helena are right there." While a third claimed: "Megan was only brought in to shake up Shakira and Conor and I think that's very unfair," As a fourth user wrote: "The producers seeing Shakira not fancying Conor the day before they create a love triangle by sending Megan in."
