Leave Me Alone
The venue is the latest venture from corporate-bigwig-turned-bar-owner Hirohisa Tamonoki. The forty-something former tech VIP from Akita prefecture opened the bar at the end of 2024, finally fulfilling 'a dream he'd left behind' after decades in the corporate world. A self-proclaimed introvert, Tamonoki aimed to create a space for people like himself who never quite fit in. He also wants to attract individuals with a passion for the music genre that reigns supreme at his bar: noise.
From the disorienting percussive sounds of Japanese noise legend Merzbow to the abrasive vocals of American experimental rock band Swans, you'll get your fill of sonic brutality through track after track of harsh noise, industrial noise, noise rock and so on. The harshness of the bar's soundtrack is in contrast to the intimate nature of the space, but somehow it works. 'It's not for everybody,' says Tamonoki. 'But if you get it, you get it.'
The bar's drink options are less eclectic (but no less tasty), and feature various kinds of whiskey and gin – think classics like Hakushu, Hibiki, Sakurao and Kanomori. A speciality cocktail menu is in the works and currently features mezcal negronis and seasonal fruit gin and tonics.
Invitations to Leave Me Alone are strictly through DM only. If noise music is your thing and you're thinking of stopping by, request the location by contacting the bar via Instagram @leave_me_alone_bar.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce finally go 'Instagram official' with 13 sweet snaps
After months of dating, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have finally gone 'Instagram official' with their relationship, sharing a series of loved up snaps online After months of fan excitement and keeping a relatively low profile about his love life, Travis Kelce has finally taken things to the next level and made his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift official on Instagram. The Kansas City Chiefs' tight end embraced the modern tradition of confirming a relationship via social media, offering fans a glimpse into their blossoming romance. On Thursday, Travis shared a series of photos documenting their summer adventures together in what marked a huge milestone in their relationship journey so far. Travis, who boasts 6 million followers on Instagram, posted a collection of snaps from their recent holiday. The images showcased various moments of their relationship, from boat trips to dining at upscale restaurants. One photo captured the couple enjoying a snowy landscape, while another showed them sharing a moment on an ice rink. In one particularly sweet image, Taylor is seen tenderly holding Travis's face as they pose with friends. Captioning the post, Travis wrote: "Had some adventures this offseason, kept it 100.", reports the Express. As soon as the post was live, fans and fellow celebrities flooded the comments section, expressing their delight at this significant step in the couple's relationship. Former NBA player Chandler Parsons chimed in with: "the hard post !" acknowledging that this was the first time Taylor had featured on Travis' Instagram feed. Betty Crocker, the baking behemoth, also couldn't resist chiming in, suggesting the post might just "break the internet." Among the collection of images, one specific photo caught the sharp eyes of fans, as it unveiled that Kelce's phone lock-screen is a snapshot of the smitten pair. In a discreet tribute to TayTay, the post included a total of 13 images, which happens to be Taylor's lucky number. The 35-year-old pop superstar and American footballer Travis have been an item since September 2023 and it seems they are as hungry for each other as always. The couple have supported each other on the road - with Travis, 35, tailing Taylor on her epic Eras World Tour which finally climaxed at the end of last year, and she attending games he played for his team, the Kansas City Chiefs. The couple have been reasonably happy to talk about their romance - with Travis occasionally talking about his girlfriend on his podcast, New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, 37. And Taylor has declared her love to Travis while on stage and collecting awards. However up until now, the couple have never officially confirmed their romance on social media, making Travis' photo carousel all the more poignant.

Hong Kong's anime convention returns bigger and better this year
Anime and manga fans, our time has come! The 26th Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong (ACGHK) returns this year with anime voice actors, singers, Japanese brands, cosplayers galore, and more to check out. A major part of the event every year is the exhibitors and booths with anime and cartoon merchandise, with plenty of art, clothing, accessories, and creations by toy designers from 12 global regions to look through. Keep an eye out for limited-edition wares, such as the global debut of the Sailor Uniform Rilakkuma series, and just 300 sets of Golden Warrior models limited to this venue only. The number of doujin booths will be significantly increased for this year's ACGHK, with over 550 stalls including 80 international offerings from Japan, South Korea, Europe, the Americas, and more – this is a great opportunity to check out self-published manga, art, and works by global creative minds. As part of Ani-Com, the Comics Masters Gathering will also bring together six European comic big names, six Chinese comic artists, and two Hong Kong artists in a showcase of their different styles and skillsets. Of course, no anime convention is complete without half the venue filled with fantastical cosplayers, and this year is no exception. With Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle just releasing in Japan and already smashing box office records, we're betting there'll be a lot of Tanjiro and Nezuko costumes. Either way, the best cosplayers will be judged at the Anime Cosplay Competition 2025, which also serves as the regional qualifier for the World Cosplay Summit 2026 in Japan, so let's see which winning duo is representing Hong Kong at next year's finals. Don't leave without seeing live performances by popular anime idols, including singer and voice actor Yui Makinoa, and even a meet-and-greet session with popular Japanese virtual idol group Fuwamoco Vtubers. Get ready to geek out for five consecutive days, from July 25 to 29, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

‘Lost the best friend I ever had': Kelly Osbourne pays tribute to Ozzy
The rock legend was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019 and died at the age of 76 on Tuesday morning, surrounded by his family. In a heartfelt message posted to her Instagram stories on Thursday, Kelly shared lyrics from the Black Sabbath song Changes, a track she famously re-recorded with her father. 'I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had,' she wrote next to an emoji of a broken heart. Released in 2003, their reimagined duet hit number one on the UK Singles chart. The duo became only the second father-daughter act to top the chart, following Nancy and Frank Sinatra in 1967. Osbourne's death came a few weeks after he reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates on July 5 to play a farewell gig at Villa Park – a stone's throw from where the band was formed in 1968. After the live performance, Osbourne and his wife Sharon celebrated Kelly's engagement with her long-term partner Sid Wilson, a member of the heavy metal band Slipknot. The day after the gig, Kelly thanked her father's fans for attending his last live performance. She wrote on Instagram: 'To say that yesterday was magic was an understatement! 'Thank you to everyone who came to support my dad. Thank you to the fans who without we are nothing! 'My dad got his moment in the sun! He was able to say thank you and good bye in the most beautiful way!' Tributes to Osbourne were led by his Black Sabbath bandmates, including Terence 'Geezer' Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward, along with celebrity friends including Kiss star Gene Simmons and Queen guitarist Sir Brian May. Earlier on Thursday, Status Quo frontman Francis Rossi spoke on ITV's Good Morning Britain and described Osbourne as 'wild'. He said: 'He was a great young guy. And then obviously, American success got to him, I think. And it gets to a lot of us. You get carried away with all that stuff that one shouldn't. I did and I'm over it.' Osbourne was also described by the Lord mayor of Birmingham, Zafar Iqbal, as a 'proud Brummie' who helped put the city 'on the world map'. Mr Iqbal met the founding members of the heavy metal band, formed in the city in 1968, when they were presented with the freedom of Birmingham in June. He told the PA news agency: 'He (Osbourne) was very important and he was a proud Brummie. He loved the city. He will be much missed, I think, and he was loved by so many people in the city.' Other stars have also honoured the 'Prince of Darkness' by paying tribute to him during live concert performances, including Lady Gaga, Coldplay and Alice Cooper, who praised him for performing until he 'couldn't do it any more'.
