Multiple injuries have been reported at a MARTA subway station after Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour stop in Georgia.
Newsweek reached out to MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) via an online form on Tuesday for comment.
The Context
Beyoncé is currently wrapping up her Cowboy Carter Tour. It began in April in Los Angeles following the release of her record-breaking Cowboy Carter album in 2024.
The "Texas Hold 'Em" singer, 43, announced the news one day after the 2025 Grammy Awards, where Cowboy Carter was named Album of the Year and Best Country Album.
"COWBOY CARTER TOUR 2025," she wrote on social media at the time.
What To Know
Beyoncé had just wrapped her four-day stint in Atlanta on Monday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium when the incident took place shortly after midnight.
Witnesses recalled crowds rushing to leave the venue, according to Fox 5 Atlanta, and MARTA officials told the outlet that a "stampede" occurred on the escalator at the nearby Vine City Station.
When someone began screaming and running, the escalator sped up before coming to a sudden stop, forcing people to fall into one another. Authorities said that one person had broken their ankle and seven more were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, per FOX 5 Atlanta. People were also seen on stretchers and wheelchairs.

The incident occurred following news of an Atlanta car break-in involving Beyoncé's choreographer, Christopher Grant, and dancer Diandre Blue. While they were eating, two suitcases were stolen from their 2024 Jeep Wagoneer rental car.
The 911 call was released by Atlanta news station WSB-TV.
"Someone broke into my car," Grant told the dispatcher. "I was parked in a garage while I went to a restaurant. But they stole, like my computers and everything, but it has the tracker on it."
"They have my computers, and it's really, really important information in there," he added. "I work with someone who's like of a high status, and I really need the, um, my computer and everything."
The theft was captured on camera, and an arrest warrant was issued, the Associated Press reported.
What People Are Saying
The Atlanta Police Department alerted drivers of car break-ins on Facebook earlier this month: "We know quick stops can turn into costly mistakes. It only takes seconds for a thief to spot valuables and break in. Take your bags, phone, and anything important with you every time you leave your car. Don't give criminals an easy win."
What Happens Next
Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour concludes on July 26 in Las Vegas.

Miley Cyrus' Reason Behind Not Going on Tour Explained
Miley Cyrus, known for her electric performances and bold persona, recently opened up about why she is stepping away from touring. The singer recently released her latest visual album, Something Beautiful. While fans anticipated a Miley Cyrus tour to follow the album's debut, the singer revealed that she has no plans to return to the stage for a global trek. And her reason might surprise you. So, here's what Cyrus said about not going on the tour. In a candid interview on , Cyrus explained that her decision to avoid touring isn't due to physical limitations or her vocal condition, Reinke's edema. But it is rather a conscious choice for her emotional and mental well-being. 'I do have the physical ability, and I have the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don't,' she shared. Cyrus stressed that touring doesn't align with her current values and lifestyle, especially her commitment to sobriety. She added that being on the road can be emotionally destabilizing and isolating for artists. 'You're out on the road, and it's hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is a really important pillar of stability in my life,' she said, referencing how some iconic artists suffered due to the pressures of constant touring. Cyrus also admitted to the emotional crash after performing for massive crowds. 'You feel a lot of love, then you totally crash at the end of the show. You start thinking one person loving you is not enough,' Cyrus stated. The Wrecking Ball singer first shared her disinterest in large-scale touring during her June 2023 British Vogue interview, reflecting on how disconnected she felt during her 2014 Bangerz Tour. 'There's no connection. There's no safety. It's so isolating because if you're in front of 100,000 people then you are alone,' she said. Despite stepping away from tours, Cyrus isn't turning her back on performing entirely. She made a surprise appearance during Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour in Paris, performing 'II Most Wanted' alongside the pop icon. 'Brunette Taylor Swift' Goes Viral, Internet Says She's Star's Doppelgänger
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A Philadelphia woman has stunned the internet with her striking resemblance to Taylor Swift, and she even gets stopped in the street by people telling her how much she looks like the singer. Being compared to Taylor Swift is certainly not a bad thing, but Mary Devlin, 28, has heard those comparisons ever since 2006. When she was just 9 years old, one of her aunts pointed out how much Devlin looked like that "new country singer" who was bursting onto the scene. As the years went by, and Swift's presence continued to grow, more and more people told Devlin how similar they looked. Indeed, by the time Swift released her album Red in 2012, and 1989 in 2014, Devlin was working as a live musician, and she told Newsweek that she got the comment "nearly every day." As much as she admires Swift's work ethic and her business acumen, she didn't really have the same aesthetic that Devlin was hoping for. Mary Devlin pictured in her car, showing her resemblance to Swift. Mary Devlin pictured in her car, showing her resemblance to Swift. @beatledirt / Instagram "The comparisons became frequent during Taylor's Red era and all during the 1989 years," Devlin, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, said. "I actually used to hate it because I was trying to look like rock muse Pattie Boyd, and I wanted people to tell me I had a 1960s look, not a Taylor Swift look. "But Taylor having bangs and a vintage look during the 2010s definitely didn't help my case. I got offers to work as a Taylor Swift impersonator back then, but I turned them down." People will go up to Devlin in real life and tell her how much she looks like Swift, or joke that they "didn't know Taylor Swift worked here." It's mostly just brief interactions in person, and Devlin has become accustomed to laughing it off and thanking them. Devlin has even gone viral on Instagram (@beatledirt) for her unquestionable resemblance to the iconic singer. She recently shared a clip joking about how frequently people tell her she looks like Swift, and the post went viral with over 859,000 views in a matter of days. Alongside the video, Devlin wrote in the caption that it's "a weird thing to grow up with" but she understands where people are coming from. Over the years, Devlin has been told about the likeness by people who claim to have been Swift's former neighbors, by photographers at events, and even a former Kansas City Chiefs player too. "I used to hate getting the comment because I'm a singer/songwriter and I didn't want to constantly be compared to one of the biggest stars of our generation," Devlin told Newsweek. "I really wanted to look like Pattie Boyd or Jean Shrimpton. That's why I think it's funny when people think I'm trying to look like her—I just like wearing eyeliner and lipstick. "Now that I'm older, I appreciate the comparison. I know it comes from a nice place and usually it starts nice conversations about Taylor's music. It's wonderful to hear people talk about how an artist helped them in some way." She doesn't just get called a "brunette Taylor Swift" either, as Devlin has also been told how much she looks like Jessica Biel, Liv Tyler, Jessica Pare, Emma Stone and Joni Mitchell. But perhaps one of the strangest elements of going viral for her resemblance to Swift is when social media users get angry about it. Some people will furiously comment that she "doesn't look that much like her," and suggest that Devlin is exaggerating how often she gets compared to Swift. "I don't really care if people don't see a resemblance because I don't try to look like her, but I am sort of shocked when the comments border on being rude or become mean. At the end of the day everyone sees things a little differently," Devlin said. After highlighting how often she gets compared to Swift, the Instagram post went viral and plenty of social media users took to the comments to share their thoughts. One comment reads: "I definitely see it, you really look like Red era Taylor Swift!" Another Instagram user wrote: "Liv Tyler and Taylor Swift had a baby." While another person replied: "The ultimate compliment." Do you have any viral videos or pictures that you want to share? We want to see the best ones!
