Nine arrests at TRNSMT Sunday as suspects detained over sex assault and cop attacks
A TRNSMT reveller was arrested over an alleged sex assault yesterday as Police Scotland detained nine festival-goers on the final day of the Glasgow Green bash.
Music lovers descended on Glasgow city centre to see Snow Patrol bringing the curtain down on the third day of the festival on Sunday July 13.
But officers policing the event made nine arrests for offences ranging from sexual assault and police assault to possession of weapons.
Police added revellers at the festival - also headlined by 50 Cent and Biffy Clyro on Friday and Saturday - were detained over common assault.
Suspects were also apprehended over alleged hate crimes and culpable and reckless behaviour.

The force said reports will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
It takes the total number of arrests in Glasgow Green to 19.
Seven people were arrested on day one, when 50 Cent and The Script topped the bill.
Four others were detained on day two, when Biffy and Fontaines D.C. were playing.
One man had been arrested and charged after allegedly leafleting near the festival while wearing a T-shirt showing support for the proscribed group Palestine Action.
A statement released by Police Scotland on Monday said: "Nine people have been arrested and charged in connection with various offences in and around the area where TRNSMT festival was held at Glasgow Green on Sunday, 13 July, 2025.
"The offences included police assault, assault, sexual assault, culpable and reckless behaviour, hate crime and possession of weapons. Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

No protesters were arrested at demonstrations about US President Donald Trump after he began a visit to Scotland, according to police. A 50-year-old woman was issued with a recorded police warning in connection with alleged threatening behaviour at a Stop Trump Scotland protest outside the US consulate in Edinburgh on Saturday, but no arrests were made, according to Police Scotland. In Glasgow, a woman aged 49 was arrested at a 'mass deportation rally' led by Ukip's Nick Tenconi, which was met by a counter-protest in George Square. The woman, who was a counter-protester, was arrested in connection with an alleged obstruction of the police and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. Police Scotland said two arrests were made in Aberdeen at 'other events' on Saturday, but not at a huge anti-Trump demonstration in the city. A spokesperson said the force 'took action at demonstrations and protest events' but did not make any arrests at Trump rallies across the country. In Aberdeen, an 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with a number of outstanding warrants and will appear in court at a later date, according to Police Scotland. A 56-year-old man will be the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal after an alleged assault in Aberdeen city centre. Police Scotland said they could not give further details.

Drug dealer jailed after police track him down due to famous dad
The son of the famous lead singer was involved in multi-million pound drug deals and sentenced to ten years and eight months for the supply of cocaine, ketamine, cannabis and heroin. A 30-year-old drug dealer has been jailed for 10 years after police tracked him down due to his famous dad. A team of specialist cops identified him from messages about his 90s singer father. An associate within their drug network even sent him a picture of his famous dad and made comments which confirmed their relationship. Thomas Hooton, the son of The Farm lead singer Peter Hooton, has been jailed and sentenced to ten years and eight months for the supply of cocaine, ketamine, cannabis and heroin. The 30-year-old drug dealer, who had previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply drugs, was using the name "Ownraptor" and quickly became a trusted broker of multi-million pound drug deals, reports the Mirror. Thomas also wrote in messages that he was driving a black Audi A3 and his "arl fella", meaning his dad, had arranged the insurance. Thomas was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday. On the back of his arrest by Merseyside's Organised Crime Partnership in April this year, Thomas made the decision to plead guilty. He had been using the messaging service EncroChat to broker his drug deals which reportedly had the street value of an estimated £ 1.3million. Police were also able to detect that he had been using more than 40 names for contact and had also set up a county lines supply that covered Scotland, north-east and the south of England. A spokesperson for the National Crime Agency said: "At the very minimum, Hooton was involved in the supply of 42.5kg of cannabis, 3.25kg of heroin, 10 kg of cocaine and 1kg of ketamine." They added: "His messages said he was in possession of around £400,000 and owed £258,000." The offences which led to his arrest were reportedly between March 26 and June 4 five years ago. Detective Chief Inspector Lynsay Armbruster said: "It's clear Hooton was involved in organised crime for a long time before he was charged. His criminal and geographical reach will have taken considerable time to establish. His drug supply operations were on an almost daily basis, they were sustained and spanned the UK working with high level criminals." EncroChat was deactivated in 2020 by a European investigation team. The Mirror has reached out to Peter Hooton for a comment.
