Where Will Ali Maaloul Go Next?

Uncertainty Surrounds Ali Maaloul's Next Move After Leaving Al Ahly The future of Tunisian football star Ali Maaloul remains unclear, more than a month after he officially departed Al Ahly, ending a highly successful nine-year spell with the Egyptian giants. The former left-back has yet to announce his next destination, leaving fans and clubs in suspense. Offers From Gulf Clubs Reports have suggested that several clubs from Saudi Arabia and Qatar are interested in signing Maaloul. However, no official agreements have been announced so far. Sources close to the player confirm that he has received multiple offers, but he has not made a final decision regarding his future. Possible Return to Tunisia A potential return to his boyhood club, CS Sfaxien, is also under consideration. According to insiders, the club and its fans are eager to see Maaloul back. However, financial differences remain a major obstacle, given the significant gap between his previous salary at Al Ahly and what he could earn in the Tunisian league. No Move to Another Egyptian Club Maaloul has ruled out any possibility of joining another Egyptian club. He has reportedly refused offers from Egypt out of respect for Al Ahly and its fans, stating that the Red Devils' jersey is the only one he would wear in Egyptian football. Ali Maaloul's Legendary Legacy at Al Ahly During his nine seasons with Al Ahly, Ali Maaloul cemented his status as one of the most influential foreign players in the club's history. He made over 250 appearances, contributing with goals and assists while helping the team win an impressive 22 trophies—including the CAF Champions League, Egyptian Premier League, and Egypt Cup. He also represented Al Ahly in several FIFA Club World Cup tournaments. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Morocco - Zambia: Crossing Shots, Shared Visions

There is nothing to separate them. Morocco and Zambia, the rising stars of African Women's Football, kickoff the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2024 this Saturday at the Stade Olympique in Rabat, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Between shared ambition and extraordinary memories, this much-anticipated fixture sounds as much a revenge platform as it does a declaration of intent. Two Parallel Paths Their progress follows an almost symmetrical tempo. Semi-finalists at the WAFCON 2022, World Cup participants the following year, the two teams embody this new generation that is shaking up the established order. On paper, nothing really separates them. On the pitch, however, recent history has left its mark. Zambia: From the Shadows to the Light 10 years ago, the Copper Queens played almost anonymously. Today, they arrive in Morocco with a strong and bold team, driven by a golden generation. Barbra Banda, Grace Chanda and Ireen Lungu, who emerged at the FIFA U17 World Cup 2014 in Costa Rica, laid the foundations. But it is 25-year-old Racheal Kundananji who embodies the shift into a new era: her world record-breaking transfer to Bay FC for €735,000 has made a lasting impression. "We are both witnesses and agents of change. There is a real new perspective around Zambia, in Africa. It is a source of pride, but also a great responsibility," she explains. At the helm of this ambitious team, Nora Häuptle is new to the WAFCON after a successful experience in Ghana. The Swiss tactician wants to establish an ambitious style. "It is an honour to lead this team full of potential. My goal is to create an environment where players can express themselves freely while developing a strong and cohesive playing identity." Morocco: A Host's Revenge At home, Morocco begin their WAFCON with a status to defend. Finalists in the last edition, the Atlas Lionesses want to improve. And above all, to recover from the trauma of their Paris 2024 Olympics elimination. Last April, they were eliminated by... Zambia. Beaten 2-1 in the first leg, the Copper Queens won 2-0 in Rabat, snatching their ticket to the Games. The defeat is still raw. "This defeat hurt us a lot, especially because it happened on our home turf, in front of our home crowd. But it made us grow. We learned to stay clear-headed, to not let our guard down. This opening match is our way of turning the page and writing a new chapter," sighs Ghizlane Chebbak, the iconic captain and Best Player of the WAFCON 2022. "We want to offer something great to our fans. Winning here, at home, would be more than an achievement. It would be an act of faith." To guide this ambition, the federation has entrusted the reins to Jorge Vilda, recently crowned World Champion with Spain. "Playing a WAFCON at home is enormous pressure. My role is to transform this pressure into energy. We want the Moroccan fans to be proud of a team that is committed, liberated, and true to its values," explains the Spanish coach. The weight of memories, the urgency of the present "It is true that by now, we know each other well," acknowledges Chebbak. And this alone adds spice to a confrontation already laden with symbolism. This Morocco-Zambia match is not just an opening fixture; it is a test of ambition, character and maturity. On the Zambian side, suspicion reigns. This game is unprecedented in the WAFCON, but recent history lends further depth to this encounter. "We have enormous respect for this Moroccan team, which is playing on home soil, making them a formidable opponent," notes Häuptle. "But we have our own ambitions. Every match of this WAFCON will be a battle. Our Olympic qualification is not the end; it is a foundation on which to build. We want to show that Zambia is here to stay." Between a Moroccan team driven by the need to excel at home, and a Zambian team driven by a desire to conquer, the duel promises to be an electric start to the tournament. Two visions, two identities, one certainty: this first clash will leave no one indifferent.

Ahly's Palestinian striker Abou Ali draws Gulf interest after Club World Cup heroics - Egyptian Football

Egyptian giants Ahly have reportedly received lucrative offers from Gulf clubs for Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali following his standout performances at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The 26-year-old forward scored three goals during the tournament, catching the eye despite Ahly's early exit in the group stage. Upon the team's return to Cairo, Ahly were reportedly approached by Qatari side Al-Rayyan, UAE club Al-Wasl, and Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls, all of which expressed interest in signing the prolific striker. According to local media, Al-Rayyan have submitted a $8 million bid, while Al-Wasl offered $7 million. However, sources close to the club suggest Ahly have set a $10 million price tag for their star striker. Ahly sporting director Mohamed Youssef insisted last week that Abou Ali is not for sale, stating: 'The team needs his contributions in the coming period.' However, with interest growing and substantial offers on the table, the club's stance could be put to the test. Since joining Ahly in January 2024, Abou Ali has quickly established himself as a vital figure in the squad. He netted 18 goals in 19 appearances to win the Egyptian Premier League Golden Boot in his debut season. Despite injuries hampering his most recent campaign, he managed 10 goals in 16 league matches, finishing just behind teammate Emam Ashour in the scoring charts. Abou Ali's most memorable moment came in Ahly's final Club World Cup match, where he scored a perfect hat-trick in a thrilling 4-4 draw against FC Porto.
