Beyoncé's Houston concert takes a dramatic turn mid-air
During her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter tour stop at Houston's NRG Stadium on Saturday, 28 June.
Beyoncé faced a terrifying moment when the flying car prop she was riding suddenly tilted dangerously mid-air.
The red convertible, normally upright during her performance of 16 Carriages , began to slant sharply, according to Daily Mail.
This caused the 43-year-old singer to slide in her seat and prompted her to urgently command, 'Stop, stop, stop' into the microphone as the music abruptly cut out.
The incident stunned the crowd and was captured on video by fans, who gasped and shouted for the crew to intervene.
The vehicle hung suspended by cables above the audience. Despite the alarming situation, Beyoncé remained remarkably calm and composed. She even smiled at the crowd while holding onto the cables for safety. BEYONCÉ REMAINS PROFESSIONAL
After a tense few moments, the car was carefully and slowly lowered back to the stage. The singer briefly exited before returning to finish her set.
Once safely on stage, Beyoncé addressed the audience with warmth and gratitude, saying, 'I wanna thank y'all for loving me. If I ever fall, I know y'all will catch me'.
This heartfelt message resonated strongly with fans, who praised her poise and professionalism during the scare.
One fan remarked, 'Omg she scared me. So glad she's safe and nothing happened!! SOMEBODY GETTING FIRREDDDD'.
This was not the first technical glitch Beyoncé has encountered on the Cowboy Carter tour.
In May, a robotic arm on stage malfunctioned during a Los Angeles show, spilling a drink meant for the singer.
Earlier in London, her fringed chaps unexpectedly fell off mid-performance, yet she handled it with grace and humour.
The Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour, supporting her acclaimed 2024 album Cowboy Carter. It has been a major spectacle, blending country-western themes with futuristic stagecraft.
The tour began in April 2025 in Inglewood, California, and is scheduled to conclude in July 2025 in Paradise, Nevada, with 32 stadium shows across the US and Europe.
Beyoncé's quick thinking and calm demeanour turned a potentially dangerous malfunction into a memorable moment of strength and connection with her fans.
This proves once again why she remains one of the world's most iconic performers.
