Anne Hathaway and Davina McCall confirm the T-bar necklace as a huge jewellery trend! 15 to shop now
Now, we have good news and bad news. The bad news? We've found the exact piece Anne Hathaway wears – the FORME Diamond Toggle Necklace by Jemma Wynne – which retails for a modest £9,030. Eek! The good news? We've rounded up 15 of the best designer lookalikes from affordable jewellery brands like Missoma and Abbott Lyon for you to shop now.
If you need any more convincing that the T-bar is the jewellery trend to try, Celebs like Davina McCall, Ellie Goulding, and Taylor Swift have been papped in Tilly Sveaas' bestselling T-bar chains over the last few years.
'T-Bars are a design classic that will never go out of fashion,' Tilly Sveaas, founder of her eponymous jewellery brand, tells Cosmopolitan UK. 'They're rooted in tradition but translate so well in our modern world. They really stand out when worn on screen or in the press. They also have huge styling versatility, partly because they transcend age and sex.'
The closest lookalike to the £9k diamond and gold iteration Anne Hathaway wears is probably the Giant Gold Jewelled T-Bar on Curb Chain by Tilly Sveaas, which ranges from £425–£450 (depending on whether you opt for a 40 or 50cm chain). It's plated in two microns of 18kt gold, encrusted with solitaire crystals on both sides of the bar and loop, and has a two-year warranty. Even so, it is a bit of a pricey pick.
For those on a budget, the best affordable T-bar necklace has to be PRYA's 18kt gold-plated Willow T-bar Necklace at just £24. It's water and sweat-resistant, tarnish-free, and comes with a two-year warranty. We know a bargain when we see one.
Not a gold lover? PRYA's silver Willow T-bar Necklace is perfect for those looking for cool-toned jewellery that doesn't break the bank.
We're pretty confident when we say the statement necklace is a capsule wardrobe staple. In fact, we have it on good authority that it's a piece everyone should have in their jewellery box.
'[T-bar necklaces] are one of the easiest pieces to wear and style because they tap into that timeless, heirloom feel,' says Carrie Elizabeth, founder of her eponymous jewellery brand.
'But what makes them so special is their structured, minimal design — they exude that mix of old and new that makes them modern, effortlessly cool, and an absolute must-have right now.'

Lucinda Williams Is Opening a New York City Honky-Tonk
Lucinda Williams is opening her own bar, and, no, it's not in Nashville. Rather, the Americana grand dame is bringing country music and honky-tonk vibes to New York's East Village with 'Lucinda's,' making its official debut on Thursday at 169 Avenue A. Ahead of the public opening, Williams will perform an intimate concert on Tuesday night to be livestreamed on SiriusXM's Outlaw Country channel beginning at 9 p.m. ET. Laura Cantrell will open with her own set, and the Honky Tonkin' in Queens DJs — Moonshine and Prison Rodeo — will spin records. More from Rolling Stone Clifton Chenier Was a Music Icon. The Rolling Stones and Lucinda Williams Want You to Know Why How Craig Finn Made the Seventies L.A. Record of His Dreams Willie Nelson's 2025 Luck Reunion Was Like No Place on Earth Williams is credited as a 'co-founder' of Lucinda's in a press release. According to the release, the bar, located in the building that once housed storied rock club Brownie's and, most recently, Coney Island Baby and Lola, will be overseen by Laura McCarthy and Kelley Swindall. 'We are really excited to have a down-home, honky tonk country bar in the East Village,' McCarthy said. 'There is some kind of magic for music in that location. I have felt it since we opened Brownies in the late 80s. It's exciting to do this with Lucinda and the team.' Lucinda's will feature weekly bluegrass nights, songwriter open mics, and live country music every Friday and Saturday night. The last Thursday of every month will be designated as the East Village Cxntry Club, an all-inclusive queer country party. While the venue is a tribute to Williams' hard-won career, it also pays homage to the late Jeremy Tepper, a friend of Williams and the brains behind SiriusXM's Outlaw Country. Williams' most recent album of original material was 2023's Stories From a Rock n Roll Heart. Last year, she released a record of Beatles songs she recorded at Abbey Road studios. She'll kick off August with three appearances on the Outlaw Music Festival tour with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan. ‘KPop Demon Hunters' and ‘Expedition 33' Are Having a Moment
Have you watched KPop Demon Hunters on Netflix or played Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? Chances are the answer is 'yes,' and if not, you've certainly heard of them: both were released earlier this year to fairly glowing reviews (if not outright critical acclaim) and performed very well commercially. The latter, a turn-based RPG from newcomer Sandfall Interactive, will likely pick up some awards at year's end, while Netflix is planning to go all in on KPop. Along with talks of sequels and an ever-growing wave of merchandise, the streamer submitted the mid-movie song 'Golden' for Academy Award consideration. Both may also wind up jumping to live-action; Expedition had a movie announced months before the game's release, while Netflix is reportedly mulling over a remake with human actors. There's at least one movie, game, or show that becomes the talk of the town each year, but the way KPop and Expedition have been moving feels more significant than most. Both of them certainly build on the foundation set by their predecessors; musically, K-pop has been a popular genre for years, but it's possible general audiences didn't fully know just how much until now. Even if folks didn't watch KPop Demon Hunters, they've sure heard the music, which has risen in the charts in the weeks after release and beat real groups like BTS and Blackpink. (In a fun nod to the film, the two bands, Huntrix and the Saja Boys, became the highest-charting female and male K-pop groups for U.S. Spotify while competing against each other.) Several prominent artists in the genre have reacted to or covered the film's music, which has also become a viral sensation in Korea. Even before that point, viewers had KPop fever the moment the credits rolled and immediately demanded Netflix greenlight a sequel and shared their ideas for a TV spinoff. View this post on InstagramMeanwhile, Expedition 33 was built on the back of decades' worth of turn-based RPGs made in Japan, from heavy hitters like Final Fantasy and Persona to modern cult classics Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Whether you knew the influences or not, that didn't stop the game from feeling like a breath of fresh air (well, paint) at a time when the industry could've used some good news in between the next rounds of layoffs and cancellation-focused news. It's also a game that did its job too well: between bad faith actors and a general need to deify Sandfall for making a strong debut title, the RPG has become overwhelmed by discussions about what its success could and should mean for the industry—and, more pointedly, the ever-evolving Final Fantasy franchise, whose mainline installments have taken more of a real-time combat focus—that subsequently smothered any real talks about its mechanics or late-game narrative swerves. Sandfall's kept its head down and focused on updating the game (and probably its next project next), so it's hard to know how much of this has gone to their heads, for better and worse. For folks hoping for some originality, KPop Demon Hunters and Expedition 33 couldn't have come at a better time. The 2020s have seen franchises start to buckle under continuous sequels and expanded universe games, prompting many to go back to their old ways, if not reboot entirely. So many headlines have focused on what's being rebooted or remade, what's coming back for another go years or decades after the fact. Original works feel more rare than they have in some time, even despite the odds becoming increasingly stacked against them. It's always been a crap shoot as to what originals will land with audiences and to what degree, as seen with the split between how they took to 2023's Elemental versus Elio this past summer. But when one seems like it's got the juice, there's hope that it can build up the proper momentum and find an audience so it becomes a true great. Or failing that, it can always be a stepping stone towards later projects from its creators and gain more attention down the line. Netflix will get to fulfill several of its KPop-related ambitions, and if Sandfall ever makes an Expedition sequel, players will be all over it. But the most interesting thing about them is seeing the shadow they'll have both cast years after the fact and what new creations come to follow in its footsteps. And if what comes next looks, sounds, and plays as great as what inspired them or finds their own voice, it'll all have been worth it. Want more io9 news? The First Look at Meryl Streep and Simone Ashley's ‘Devil Wears Prada 2' Gala Dresses Is Here
THE RUNDOWN A sequel to The Devil Wears Prada wouldn't be complete without a scene at some version of the Met Gala. Luckily, the movie filmed their take on the iconic fashion event on Friday, August 1, at the Museum of Natural History. Photos from the set show Meryl Streep dressed as her character, Miranda Priestly, wearing her idea of a perfect red carpet ensemble. Naturally, it's stunning. In the new behind-the-scenes images, Streep can be seen posing with Stanley Tucci, playing Nigel, wearing a rich red gown with an asymmetrical neckline, one long sleeve, and a dramatic full skirt. She had her short platinum hair swept back and wore statement earrings with red and white jewels and a red stone ring. Tucci wore a black tux with a polka dot bowtie and a long black and white scarf. Bridgerton's Simone Ashley, who plays a new character in The Devil Wears Prada 2, was also seen on set in a sculptural take on the little black dress. The skin-tight ensemble featured sheer panels across her torso and an elevated neckline of netted fabric decorated with black rhinestones. She accessorized with a small black purse, hair ornaments, and shimmering tights. Ashley's character details have been kept under wraps so far. Aside from Streep and Tucci, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt are returning for the sequel, and new cast members reportedly include Lucy Liu, Pauline Chalamet, Kenneth Branagh, Tracie Thomas, B.J. Novak, and Justin Theroux. Hathaway recently spoke about returning to the world of DWP with WWD. The star is also reprising her role in the upcoming The Princess Diaries 3. 'I was so beautifully cared for on both of those films,' she said of her experience as a young actress on set in the original movies. 'I was so guided and looked after and cared for by the communities that made both of those films in particular, each of their directors, Garry Marshall and David Frankel.' She added, 'I'm so excited that now I can do that for other people, that now I have the knowledge and the experience and the confidence to take care of other people on sets in which I'm looked at as a leader.'
