For instance, 100 cameras have been placed in Satpur, Ambad, and Indiranagar areas. Sarkarwada now has 32 cameras, while Chunchale is covered by 52 cameras. As many as 156 cameras have been deployed across Nashik Road, Upnagar, Deolali Camp, Panchavati, and Adgaon areas. Currently, another 84 cameras are in the process of being installed in the Bhadrakali area, further expanding the reach of the surveillance network. This comprehensive surveillance will expand even more with the help of the Smart City project. As part of this initiative, 1,300 additional CCTV cameras have already been installed at 350 different locations. These cameras are soon expected to become fully functional, integrating with the police's existing and planned network. The combined effort will provide extensive and robust security coverage across the entire city of Nashik, enhancing public safety significantly. A police officer, while talking to TOI, said, "With the exception of cameras in the Bhadrakali area, where plans are afoot for live transmission to the Bhadrakali police station, other cameras will be standalone with the capacity to store the footage for about a month. " The officer added, "Thus, the police can check the footage of the cameras as and when required. While investigating a crime, the police generally take help of CCTV cameras to check from where the criminals may have arrived and in which direction they left after committing a crime." Under the guidance of CP Sandeep Karnik, the police are also appealing to the citizens, shopkeepers, and other traders to install cameras that capture the area in front of their respective establishments.
