Major EastEnders legend hospitalised after fall - and a fan-fave is to blame

Metro4 days ago
Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) makes a desperate attempt for cash in EastEnders next week – with devastating consequences for one resident.
As viewers of the BBC One soap know, Oscar is desperate to evade thuggish associate Fat Mike (Tai Hilferink), who he grassed up to the police for stealing a car.
In retaliation, Mike attempted to petrol bomb his house, and has continued to try and seek revenge by leaving a series of threatening messages and, in last week's episodes, left a knife in the kitchen chopping board as a stark warning of what he's capable of.
After the two lads came face to face in Monday's instalment, a paranoid Oscar attacked a hooded figure in the hallway of sister Lauren's (Jacqueline Jossa) house, believing it to be Mike.
…but it was Peter (Thomas Law)!
In upcoming scenes, Mike is back on the scene and announces he needs £5,000 in exchange for Oscar's family's safety.
At a loose end with where to find the cash, Oscar makes an attempt at forming a business deal with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), but his attempts fall flat and he has to confess all to Lauren.
Will she offer to help?
Across the Square, Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) has been betting against his fiancée Yolande's (Angela Wynter) wishes, and is on cloud nine to see he and Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) have bagged a whopping £6,000!
Yolande is furious – having already warned that she'd call off their upcoming wedding if she found him gambling again – but little does she realise, the money won't be staying in his hands for long.
The family are all in The Vic when Oscar foolishly breaks into the Fox-Trueman household in a bid to steal the winnings, but is caught in the act by Patrick.

Desperately to escape, Oscar pushes Patrick to the floor, leaving him unconscious.
Just as he makes to leave, Howie returns. Oscar hides and then darts out, and luckily his face hasn't been seen. Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and sister Kim (Tameka Empson) return from the pub and are shocked to discover what's happened. More Trending
Concerns grow for Patrick when he's rushed into hospital, while Lauren is suspicious of Oscar's overwhelming worries for a man he doesn't really know.
Later, realising he's planning to leave Walford, she confronts him with the stolen cash.
When the police start doing door to door enquiries, Oscar knows that the time is ticking on his new life.

He plays conman Gazza, who must master a Caribbean accent and culture to impersonate a notorious Jamaican gangster for a £3million payout. Peter previously told The Sun: "When I read the script, I spent the whole time laughing. 'It was warm, with a deep, heartfelt message about what someone would do to care for the person that they love. "It was also a beautiful tribute to Jamaica. 'But for me, working on Jafaican has been a dream come true. Sir Anthony Hopkins mocks Kim Kardashian's face wrap

The Welsh actor who was born in Bridgend, went to Monmouth Boys' school in Pontypool and has links to Newport, rebirthed his Hannibal Lecter character to mock Kardashian's SKIMS face wrap. Fans were left howling when Kardashian launched her new 'Ultimate Face' product from her shapewear line, comparing the garment to the Silence of the Lambs' villain Lecter's bite restraint mask worn by Hopkins in the 1991 film. Hopkins was awarded an Oscar for his on-screen role as the cannibal and wore a nude post-surgical mask in a social media post saying: 'Hello Kim, I'm already feeling 10 years younger. Goodbye.' This was before he recreated the legendary 'fava beans and Chianti' scene and captioned the clip: 'Thank you, Kim. Don't be afraid to come over for dinner.' Fans responded with hilarity online, expressing their shock at Hopkins being the one they expected to roast Kim about her new product.

Gary Busey, 81, pleads guilty to groping woman at New Jersey horror movie convention

He now faces between one and five years of probation and fines STAR IN DOCK Gary Busey, 81, pleads guilty to groping woman at New Jersey horror movie convention OSCAR-nominated actor Gary Busey has pleaded guilty to a sex crime after allegedly groping a woman at a horror movie convention in New Jersey. The Lethal Weapon star, 81, admitted during a Zoom court hearing on Thursday that the incident was 'not an accidental touching'. One victim claimed Busey placed his face near her chest and allegedly asked 'where she got them' before reaching for her bra strap. Busey initially denying any wrongdoing — even telling paparazzi in Malibu that 'none of that happened' and the women 'made up a story'. But the actor has now pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. Advertisement Under a plea deal, three other counts of criminal sexual contact and one count of attempted criminal sexual contact were dropped. The actor now faces between one and five years of probation and fines. He will also have a criminal record and must submit a DNA sample. His sentencing is scheduled for September 18 via Zoom. Advertisement Judge Gwendolyn Blue denied a motion from Busey's defense attorney, Blair Zwillman, who argued the case should be dismissed due to what he called a 'faulty investigation' and alleged failures by police to question certain witnesses. A police affidavit from 2022 claims that after detectives contacted Busey, he told them 'sometimes it is possible to accidentally touch someone in a specific body part'. Sex fiend who targeted boy, 8, in tent at Scots beauty spot was spotted fleeing scene by victim's horrified dad He also allegedly even asked authorities to apologise to two victims and persuade them not to press charges. In a statement at the time, Monster-Mania Convention said Busey was 'removed from the convention and instructed not to return' immediately after complaints were received. Advertisement 'The safety and well-being of all our attendees is of the utmost importance,' attorney Nikitas Moustakas said, adding that attendees were encouraged to file police reports. The guilty plea marks the latest controversy for the veteran actor. Just days after being charged in 2022, Busey was photographed in Malibu with his pants down on a public bench, his hand buried in his crotch. His spokesperson later claimed he may have needed to relieve himself, saying, 'Perhaps at his age, he realised he couldn't get to the bathroom in time.' Advertisement Busey, who rose to fame with his Oscar-nominated role in The Buddy Holly Story, has a history of troubling incidents. In 2011, a former Celebrity Apprentice employee accused him of sexual assault, telling the Daily Beast that he groped her and forced her hand onto his genitals. He also faced drug charges in 1995 after police reportedly found cocaine and marijuana at his Malibu home, and has been arrested in the past on suspicion of spousal abuse. The actor's son, Jake Busey, has previously said his father was never the same after a 1988 motorcycle crash that caused severe brain damage, claiming the injury left him 'more impulsive and prone to anger and delusions of grandeur.'
