Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke join Zach Braff in Scrubs revival

Perth Now11-07-2025
Zach Braff will be joined in the Scrubs revival by Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke.
The medial comedy-drama has officially been given a series order by ABC and not only is the show lead Zach reprising his role as Dr. John Michael 'J.D.' Dorian, he will be joined by his former co-stars as Dr. Chris Turk and Dr. Elliot Reid, his on-screen wife, respectively.
Zach shared the news on his Instagram Stories, singing to the tune of Scrubs' theme song: "I can't do this all on my own/I need Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison" to the tune of the Scrubs theme, Lazlo Bane's "I'm No Superman."
Sarah shared a number of throwback photos of herself, Zach, and Donald on Instagram along with the simple caption: "YAY!!!"
Bill Lawrence, who created the original Scrubs - which ran for 182 episodes between 2001 and 2010 - will return as executive producer.
He said in a statement: "Scrubs means so very much to me. So excited for the chance to get the band back together."
In announcing the series for the revival, the official logline stated: "JD + Turk scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way."
When Scrubs was rebooted for a ninth season with the focus on a new batch of interns, Donald and John C. McGinley were the only cast members to stay on as regulars.
Meanwhile, Zach previously confessed to feeling "exhausted" at the end of his time on 'Scrubs'.
The 50-year-old actor loved the experience of shooting the show - but he also admitted that it took a toll on him.
He told the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast: "I miss laughing every day. Belly laughing every day was - that was the job. And when that goes away, by the time nine years were over, we were sort of all exhausted by it."
Zach also confessed that he "didn't really have much of a life outside of [the show]".
He said: "We were starting to repeat jokes. Everyone's pretty fried.
"We would do insane hours that people don't even do anymore. We didn't really have much of a life outside of it. So we were just kind of fried."

Hulk Hogan's ex-wife Linda Hogan gushed about sharing ‘good old days' with him days before his death

Hulk Hogan's ex-wife Linda Hogan gushed about sharing 'good old days' with the wrestling icon days before his death. Her post has come to light after Hulk passed away aged 71 on Thursday (24.07.25) morning following a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Linda shared a nostalgic photo of her with Hulk on Instagram and captioned it: 'The good old days.' Her throwback snap, taken by a photography agency, showed her gazing at Hogan while dressed in a black costume at a 1996 convention. Hulk, real name Terry Bollea, was pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital after emergency services were called at 9.51am and he was treated by fire crews. Linda Hogan, 65, was married to the wrestling star for over two decades before the couple divorced in 2009. The pair were familiar to fans through the VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best, which aired from 2005 to 2007. Linda and Hulk had two children together – Brooke and Nick – after marrying in 1983 at a ceremony attended by fellow wrestling figures Andre the Giant and Vince McMahon. Despite having previously criticised Hogan in the media, calling him a 'complete liar' and 'sex addict' in a video posted in March, Linda later acknowledged Hulk had been 'a good father'. In recent years, Hulk had faced several health issues, including chronic back and neck pain. Last month, he underwent a four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion, a major spinal surgery. His wife Sky Daily, 45, a yoga instructor whom he married in 2022, addressed false reports at the time Hulk was in a coma. She said: 'His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage. None of those rumors are true.' Writing on Instagram, Sky added: 'He's been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and (Fusion), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process. If you look it up, you'll see what the last six weeks have involved… not just for his spine, but also for his vocal cords, and the eating/breathing tubes that are clamped over during surgery. 'He's healing and we're taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience.' Days before Hulk's death, Jimmy Hart, the wrestler's former close friend and ex-manager, posted a health update on X, writing: 'Hulk is doing great, doing phenomenal!' According to police and hospital documents, Hulk had been in and out of medical care for some time prior to his death, which came after a prolonged period of health complications linked to his years of physical exertion in professional wrestling.

Sydney Sweeney sparks a $346 million Wall Street surge with new ad

The term meme stock was coined after companies including GameStop and Blackberry saw their share prices surge in 2021 despite little in the way of updates about their underlying performance. The vertiginous rally triggered the collapse of a hedge fund that had bet against GameStop's stock and helped inspire the 2023 film Dumb Money starring Paul Dano. American Eagle's stock was down almost 50 per cent so far this year prior to this week's rally after it pulled its annual forecasts because of tariff uncertainty. The company primarily sources its products from China. Ross Mayfield, an analyst at Baird Private Wealth Management, said meme stocks were a symbol of how stock markets had been 'gamblified'. He said: 'It says to me nothing about the level of interest rates or financial conditions. This is retail traders moving individual stocks that are heavily shorted. 'It reflects more the gambling culture permeating financial markets. These are not being bid up because of a good earnings report. It's because of a Sydney Sweeney ad campaign.' Loading Sweeney, who has 25.2 million followers on Instagram, has fronted campaigns for the likes of Ford, Baskin-Robbins ice cream and luxury fashion brand Miu Miu. As well as being known for her screen roles, Sweeney has become a prominent figure in popular culture and found herself wrapped up in North American culture wars.
