Emmerdale star returns to ITV show months after vanishing
Fans were left in the dark when cleaner Lydia Dingle, played by English actress Karen Blick, failed to appear for her own birthday party after leaving the village without any notice.
The character was last seen in March and even then only appeared for a single episode after 'silently exiting' the show in February.
Now, the character has made her long-awaited return, according to The Sun newspaper.

In the Emmerdale episode, which aired this week, the character made her return and explained her absence.
Walking into the cafe, she runs into Joe Tate, who makes a joke to her about dusting before she shuts down the ITV character.
After reuniting with her old friend Kim Tate, Lydia tells her confidant that she has been away caring for her mother, who has apparently fallen ill.
Lydia told her: 'Well, she's back to bossing me about and giving me the running commentary on every last twinge.'
She added that she would not be back permanently and that she would be leaving again soon to continue her caring duties.
"I'll be to-ing and fro-ing a bit, but she's definitely on the mend,' she said.
Karen Blick is an English actress from Leeds in West Yorkshire, according to Emmerdale's official fan wiki.
She took on the role of Lydia Dingle all the way back in 2016, but initially appeared in Emmerdale in 2006 as an unnamed nurse.
Born in 1974, she has starred in a number of programmes besides Emmerdale over her long career.
She appeared in a 2004 TV show called No Angels as well as a programme called Nomads.

Steph then replied: "Weirdly in telly, when I found out I had a stalker and told my bosses, they were like, 'Oh yeah, kind of everyone gets a stalker at some point.' "This was a guy who just used to turn up everywhere I went, and he wasn't horrible to me. He thought that he was in a relationship with me. "So, he used to think when I said, 'Morning everyone' on the telly that I was talking directly to him. And he used to think when I put things on social media that that was me telling him where to meet him." She continued: "So, he'd turn up and he'd say things to me like, 'Can I give you a lift home, Steph? I've got your favourite snacks'... But I also didn't want to be rude to him because I didn't know what was going on in his life." Steph revealed that the situation escalated when her parents received an unexpected letter from the man, who asked for her hand in marriage. "He had your dad's address as well?" an astonished Ben asked, to which Steph responded: "Well, that's what freaked me out because then at that point I was like, 'Woah, it's very different having someone be there at broadcasting things to then finding out my parents' address and writing to them.' "That panicked me because I thought my mum and dad are gonna be dead worried here. So, that's when it all kicked in and BBC security did their thing." Steph concluded: "That's the amazing thing in our careers. You take in so much, you meet such colourful characters, so it's been amazing to write about them."

The unfortunate incident occurred when Joel Dommett, the host of ITV's The Masked Singer, conducted an interview with the 34-year-old South African dancer at the Brit Awards. The Dancing On Ice judge and former Strictly pro explained that she had been at the ITV table with Joel at the time of the incident. She was starting to feel "warm" and felt something "slipping". Oti disclosed feeling a "draught" and, upon checking her reflection, realised that something had indeed slipped "halfway" down her head.
