Jake Paul banned from UFC events after dispute with Dana White

The 'Problem Child' and the UFC president have been involved in a bitter feud of the last few years - with White recently reigniting their war of words following a stunning claim
Jake Paul is adamant he remains banned from attending UFC events following an ongoing disputed with Dana White.
The ban may not come as a surprise to many fans as the YouTuber-turned-boxer has been involved in a bitter feud with the UFC president for nearly four years - which began after the 'Problem Child' brutally slammed fighters' pay in the promotion. The last UFC event Paul was able to attend was UFC 261 in April 2021, watching on as former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman brutally knocked out Jorge Masvidal in their rematch.

The 28-year-old was booed by the Florida crowd on that night as they chanted "F*** Jake Paul" and he even had to be separated from UFC legend turned broadcaster Daniel Cormier after getting into an altercation with him at cageside. After trying to buy tickets to attend another UFC event after that night in Florida, Paul later found out he was banned from attending any future events.

"Dana banned me after they were yelling f*** Jake Paul in the stadium, then I tried to go to a different fight and all of our tickets were declined. His assistant was like 'get the f*** out of here', and then escorted me out of the event," Paul said on his podcast. Last October, White rubbished claims that Paul was forbidden from attending any UFC events. He declared that he was barred from the promotion's fights ahead of sneaking into their landmark card at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
The youngster, who has been critical of the UFC over the years, asserted he was banned from all events back in 2022 before posting a video of himself wearing a fake beard, wig, flannel shirt, and sunglasses in an attempt to 'sneak into the Sphere' last year. The American managed to sneak in and claim a spot near some of the big names in the organisation.
White later revealed Paul's antics had been pointless. "Oscar De La Hoya was there. OK, let's put it that way," he said at the Dana White's Contender Series. "Nobody's banned from the UFC. Listen, that kid knows how to market and do his thing and all that good s***. Jake Paul's welcome to come to UFC."
Paul is set to return to the ring tonight against former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Coincidentally, his showdown with the Mexican takes place on the same night as UFC 317 - headlined by a lightweight title fight between Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira. Ahead of fight night, White renewed his war of words with Paul when he claimed he did not know the YouTuber-turned-boxer would be back in action this weekend.
Paul has recently responded to White in some fashion, saying: "[The] UFC is dying. They don't have any current stars, they have skilful fighters, but it's all boring wrestling. Where the Dagestani fighters are winning everything by taking everyone to the ground." He added: 'He can say whatever he wants, but you told him about the fight, right?. So now he knows. That's what press and media is. We're selling the pay-per-views. So maybe people don't know about it today or tomorrow, but on Saturday they're all going to know.'

Wimbledon 2025: Coco Gauff is just 21 but already thinking about what to do after tennis

To be clear, Coco Gauff didn't bring up the word 'star' during a recent interview with The Associated Press; the reporter did. So as Gauff began to answer a question about balancing her life as a professional athlete with her off-court interests, she caught herself repeating that term. 'I definitely didn't know how it would look like,' she began with a smile, 'before I got to be, I guess, a star — feels weird to call myself that — but I definitely did want to expand outside of tennis. Always. Since I was young.' She still is young, by just about any measure, and she is a really good tennis player — Gauff owns the Grand Slam titles and No. 2 ranking to prove it as she heads into Wimbledon, which begins Monday — but the 21-year-old American is also more than that. Someone unafraid to express her opinions about societal issues. Someone who connects with fans via social media. Someone who is the highest-paid female athlete in any sport, topping $30 million last year, according to with less than a third of that from prize money and most via deals with companies such as UPS, New Balance, Rolex and Barilla. Someone who recently launched her own management firm. And someone who wants to succeed in the business world long after she no longer swings a racket on tour. 'It's definitely something that I want to start to step up for post-career. Kind of start building that process, which is why I wanted to do it early. Because I didn't want to feel like I was playing catch-up at the end of my career,' said Gauff, who will face Dayana Yastremska in the first round at the All England Club on Tuesday. 'On the business side of things, it doesn't come as natural as tennis feels. I'm still learning, and I have a lot to learn about," Gauff said. "I've debated different things and what paths I wanted to take when it came to just stimulating my brain outside of the court, because I always knew that once I finished high school that I needed to put my brain into something else.' In a campaign announced this week by UPS, which first partnered with Gauff in 2023 before she won that year's U.S. Open, she connects with business coach Emma Grede — known for working with Kim Kardashian on Skims, and with Khloe Kardashian on Good American — to offer mentoring to three small-business owners. 'Coco plays a key role in helping us connect with those younger Gen-Z business owners — emerging or younger entrepreneurs,' Betsy Wilson, VP of digital marketing and brand activation at UPS, said in a phone interview. 'Obviously, she's very relevant in social media and in culture, and working with Coco helps us really connect with that younger group.' While Grede helped the entrepreneurs, Gauff also got the opportunity to pick up tips. 'It's really cool to learn from someone like her,' Gauff said. 'Whenever I feel like I'm ready to make that leap, I can definitely reach out to her for advice and things like that. ... This will help me right now and definitely in the long term.' ___ Howard Fendrich has been the AP's tennis writer since 2002. Find his stories here: More AP tennis:

UFC 317 betting tips & Topuria vs Oliveira best bets: Topuria & Pantoja to hit the jackpot in Vegas

UFC 317 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this weekend, with Ilia Topuria facing Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title in one of the biggest fights of the year. earlier this year, setting his sights on the lightweight belt given up by reigning champion Islam Makhachev, and betting sites make him a heavy favourite to beat former champion Oliveira for the strap at 155lbs. Oliveira, who holds the record for the most finishes and submissions in UFC history, beat Michael Chandler in his last fight for a shot at reclaiming the lightweight title, while Topuria comes into the bout after two recent knockouts of featherweight legends Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway. In the co-main event in Las Vegas, Alexandre Pantoja takes on Kai Kara-France as the current flyweight champion looks to defend his title for the fourth time since winning it in July 2023. The lightweight division will see a new champion this weekend for the first time since 2022 as Ilia Topuria bids to become a two-weight champ, while Charles Oliveira will be looking to regain the belt he was forced to vacate that year. These are two talented fighters with skills both on the ground and with their hands, but it feels like the contest will be defined by Topuria's striking and Oliveira's ground skills. Topuria will likely look to keep the fight as a standing contest and catch Oliveira with combinations, while the Brazilian will be aiming for a submission victory. The problem for Oliveira is that in order to get a submission he will need to get dangerously close to a fighter who has proven to have excellent knockout power, and even if he does, Topuria's takedown defence of 92 per cent means the Brazilian could have a difficult time executing his gameplan. Topuria vs Oliveira Odds In fact, Topuria has only ever been taken down once in the Octagon, when he fought Bryce Mitchell in 2022. Add to that his explosive punching and accuracy – perhaps most notably demonstrated in a knockout of Holloway last year – and it becomes clear that Oliveira will have a tough time winning this one. At 35, Oliveira has lost some of the athleticism he used to have and has proven to be susceptible to powerful punchers, which perhaps explain why UFC betting sites make the veteran such a long shot to win on Saturday. There's little value on several of the main markets in this one, so with that in mind we're going for Topuria to win via KO or TKO, which is offered at around 8/13 with Willian Hill. UFC 317: Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara-France Prediction Flyweight belt holder Pantoja faces the fourth-ranked fighter in the division in the form of Kai Kara-France, with the New Zealander having beaten Steve Erceg at UFC 305 to earn his title shot. This will be Pantoja's fourth title defence, and the Brazilian is another heavy favourite on the night as he looks to add to a seven-win streak on Saturday. The 35-year-old has not lost since 2020, and stands out as the clear best in his division thanks to an all-round blend of punching power, wrestling skills and ability on the ground. This has helped him greatly in a division where few – if any – fighters have a standout single skill, with the Brazilian's elite jiu-jitsu perhaps standing out. Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara-France odds Kara-France will look to land the win via striking, but Pantoja has proven that he has the ability to submit the division's best strikers, as he did last time out against Kai Asakura. And the New Zealander's losses to Brandon Moreno and Brandon Royval – the latter of whom has been beaten twice by Pantoja in recent years – show that he is susceptible to counters from the division's more technical fighters, which could well be the case again this weekend. Pantoja has won 11 of his fights via submission and 10 via decision, with the remaining eight coming via KO or TKO. In terms of the method of victory, bookies have Pantoja to win by decision as 'most likely' at 15/8, but the better option may be on a submission win for the champ. Lauren Sanchez labelled 'tacky' in cruel swipe on Jeff Bezos wedding day

Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos tied the knot yesterday in a multi-million dollar celebration surrounded by plenty of A-list friends in Venice, Italy – but some weren't pleased Jeff Bezos' wife Lauren Sanchez has been labelled "tacky" by Katie Couric on her wedding day. The billionaire couple tied the knot this week in their no expenses spared celebration. However, it seems that one journalist wasn't too impressed by the event as she called Lauren "tacky". Katie Couric got involved in the last post from Jack Schlossberg, who is a writer famous for being the nephew of John F. Kennedy Jr. and the daughter of Caroline Kennedy. ‌ Schlossberg appeared to have poked fun at Bezos and Sánchez over the wedding celebration in Venice, Italy, this week. He reposted the cover of Vogue on Friday which showed Lauren in her white lace wedding dress. ‌ READ MORE: This Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader-approved setting spray will keep your make-up in place this heatwave He captioned the photo: "Like I said … vogue." Lauren looked stunning in the snap as she smiled from ear to ear while wearing her dress which featured long sleeves and a figure hugging shape. It also had floral lace which hugged her hips before fanning out at the knees. Couric then left her comment where she called the bride "tacky" in a cruel dig. "Welcome to the eighties — when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back," she wrote. The world's second richest man Jeff Bezos got married to with his long-term partner Lauren in Venice, Italy yesterday. The couple are husband and wife after they said their "I do's" in an extravagant £48million ceremony surrounded by their famous friends and family – despite already having a smaller, legal ceremony beforehand. ‌ The couple said their vows in a ceremony lasting around 25 minutes, with family and friends gathered at the event. They were heard cheering, clapping and whistling for the pair after they said "I do". The pair got married in front of a number of celebrities including the Kardashian-Jenners, Oprah Winfrey and Leonardo DiCaprio. Ivanka Trump was also in attendance as was Rania Al Abdullah, the Queen of Jordan. Despite the pair celebrating their nuptials in Venice this week, it has been reported that the pair had actually tied the knot weeks ago. ‌ According to an insider involved in the event planning, they said: "They have been married for at least a month, more than a month. The marriage is fully legal and took place in America under American law." This week's festivities have been widely billed as their wedding, but the source revealed it's purely ceremonial. "When they were planning the wedding, they were clear about the fact that they were already secretly married," they said. It has been reported that Bezos himself confirmed the legal union and noted the pair had arranged a prenuptial agreement to safeguard his $244 billion fortune. Bezos and Sanchez reportedly married privately in the U.S., well before the high-profile celebration began.
