Isabelle Huppert Flips the Script With Backward Denim Jacket at Cannes Film Festival 2025

Yahoo20-05-2025
Isabelle Huppert gave the Canadian tuxedo an avant-garde twist for Monday's red carpet of 'Highest 2 Lowest' at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The French star sported a denim set by Balenciaga, featuring a light-washed denim jacket worn backward and paired with a long denim skirt.
Styled by Jonathan Huguet, Huppert's look also featured distressed elements and a decorative jeweled brooch on the front, as well as sunglasses by Balenciaga. The actress has been a house ambassador for the Spanish brand since 2021.

Although unconventional, this is not the first time a celebrity opted to wear a backward jacket on the red carpet. Celine Dion famously wore a backward blazer by John Galliano for the 1999 Oscars.
Huppert has a long history with the Cannes Film Festival, both as an acclaimed actress and a style icon. She first appeared at Cannes in the 1970s and quickly became a fixture, starring in films that have competed at the festival more than 20 times. In 2009, she made history as the first female actor to serve as president of the Cannes jury, after previously being a jury member in 1984.
In 2025, Huppert was welcomed at the festival as the star of 'La Femme La Plus Riche Du Monde' ('The Richest Woman in the World'), which is inspired by Françoise Bettencourt-Meyers, heir to the L'Oréal fortune. For the premiere of the movie on Sunday, Huppert wore a custom Balenciaga green dress and De Beers jewelry.
Hupper also attended the 2025 Kering Women in Motion Awards and Cannes Film Festival Presidential Dinner on Sunday, wearing a black dress from Balenciaga's winter 2025 collection.

Queen Camilla Brings Back Signature Florals in Fiona Clare During Visit to Scotland With King Charles III

Queen Camilla joined her husband, King Charles III, for a trip to Scotland on Wednesday. Britain's queen consort and reigning monarch are on a tour of the country as part of Royal Week, making stops at receptions and special commemorations. For the annual visit, Queen Camilla went back into her royal wardrobe and opted for a dress courtesy of one of her go-to designers: Fiona Clare. The queen consort re-wore a floral dress, with long sleeves, rounded shoulders and a slightly flared skirt. The dress featured a base fabric of cream with cascading florals in shades of blue, pink and fuchsia running down the fabric. Finishing touches included coordinated pearl earrings and a pair of Chanel cap toe suede satin low heel pumps in beige and black — another staple piece of the queen consort's wardrobe. While attending the commemoration for a memorial stone for Queen Elizabeth II in St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Queen Camilla wrapped up in a coat by Anna Valentine, one of her other favorite designers. Queen Camilla previously wore this Fiona Clare design last May. The queen styled the frock for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Canada House in London. The High Commission of Canada in the U.K. officially opened on June 29, 1925, by King George V, King Charles' maternal great-grandfather. The queen consort also replicated this look from last year's trip to Scotland in July 2024. The British royal family member wore the dress for a celebration of individuals who promote Scottish Literacy at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh exactly one year ago. Royal rewears are a signature part of Queen Camilla's wardrobe. The queen consort consistently repurposes dresses by Fiona Clare and Anna Valentine. Kate Middleton is also dedicated to the trend, rewearing pieces by Self-Portrait, Emilia Wickstead and more. In Ibiza, Dakota Johnson Wears Summer's Most Wanted Pieces All at the Same Time

Dakota Johnson rarely puts a foot wrong on the fashion front. For the recent Materialists press tour, the actor sported an array of crystal-embellished Gucci gowns, minimalist Khaite dresses, and Ferragamo minis, while her wardrobe in the film is just as covetable. (Think of the cerulean blue Proenza Schouler dress seen in the trailer). Even when off-duty, Johnson's fashion credentials remain just as strong. Case in point? Her latest Ibiza holiday wardrobe look, which ticks off just about every It-item on our collective summer wishlists: a triangle bikini, Dôen floral skirt, the Alaïa ballet flats owned by just about every fashion editor at Vogue HQ, and a slogan cap. Oh, and then there's the rare Gucci green shopper bag, which was spotted on the Florentine house's fall 2025 runway—of course, as a long-time brand ambassador, she gets first dibs. On anyone else, wearing such an array of It-items all at the same time could tip you in fashion victim territory. But on Dakota, it works—partly because these are not pieces you would necessarily put together. While the top half is totally beach appropriate, the bottom half is something she might normally wear while out and about in Manhattan. Think the Wrong-Shoe Theory, but on a bigger scale. Of course, Johnson is no stranger to fashion's holy grail items, from The Row's much-discussed £670 Dune flip-flops (which the actor was spotted wearing while heading to a workout in L.A.), to adidas's trending cow print Taekwondo trainers. But as Dakota's latest outfit shows, you can own all the It-pieces in the world—the secret is all in the styling.

Dakota Johnson and Adria Arjona Get Tangled in Relationship Wreckage in SPLITSVILLE Trailer — GeekTyrant

If your last group hang turned into a couples' therapy session, Splitsville might be a movie that feels a little too real. Neon has dropped the first trailer for Michael Angelo Covino's new comedy Splitsville , and it's serving up an uncomfortably funny look at marriage, honesty, and the messiness that happens when you try to fix a relationship by blowing it up. Spiltsville centers on Carey (Kyle Marvin) and Ashley (Adria Arjona), a couple barely a year into marriage and already facing the big D—divorce. When Ashley says she wants out, Carey retreats to the safe haven of his married friends Julie (Dakota Johnson) and Paul, played by Covino. Their solution? An open relationship. Naturally. What follows is a chaotic tangle of feelings, boundaries, and crossed lines. Carey and Julie sleep together. They tell their partners. And the delicate illusion of control shatters for both couples. If the trailer is any indication, Splitsville walks a fine line between hilariously awkward and painfully honest. The film made its debut at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it reportedly earned a six-minute standing ovation and plenty of laughs. Covino, reflecting on the experience, said: 'We need to keep making comedies for Cannes. Laughter should be seen in a theater, not on a television screen.' Splitsville opens in theaters on August 22.
