Benjamin Sesko: Man United transfer latest as RB Leipzig make surprise request

Yahoo10 hours ago
RB Leipzig might end up making things easy for Manchester United in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko.
Having made the Slovenian talent their priority striker target, United are locking horns with Newcastle United for his services.
It is understood that Leipzig have informed the player's suitors that they are seeking a fee of €75million plus add-ons as well as a sell-on percentage for any deal.
Man United face strong competition from Newcastle
The Saudi-backed outfit are desperate for a new number nine amid question marks over Alexander Isak's future at Tyneside.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle are offering Sesko 'important money' and are 'ready to close the deal immediately.'
United, meanwhile, are taking a more conservative approach. Considering their financial predicament, Ineos are unlikely to splash the cash recklessly.
The Italian journalist claims that United have contacted Leipzig to underline their willingness to bid for Sesko. However, the Red Devils 'will need to take some time with RB Leipzig to negotiate and it will take some time before they close a deal.'
Leipzig want Hojlund from Man United
Interestingly, the Bundesliga giants hold interest in Rasmus Hojlund. The ex-Atalanta sensation has struggled to find his feet in England.
Romano reveals that Leipzig have requested Hojlund as part of their negotiations over a deal for Sesko.
A player-plus-cash deal involving Hojlund, who is not considered good enough to spearhead Ruben Amorim's attack, could prove to be a dream scenario for United's hierarchy, who are keen to raise funds by offloading out-of-favour players this summer.
However, Romano adds that the Denmark international's desire is to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place. So far, he has not been told to leave, but he may consider his options later in the window.
Amorim praised Hojlund's performance in his side's 4-1 win over Bournemouth in Chicago. Still, the United head coach stopped short of offering any guarantees over his future.

£600m+ Adidas deal sets up STUNNING Alexander Isak signing

Liverpool's new 10-year kit deal with Adidas is finally up and running. The Reds - from August 1 - will be outfitted by the German sportswear giants. Adidas takes over from Nike - who have supplied Liverpool's kit and apparel over the last five years. The Nike deal was valued at a base £30m per annum - with Liverpool enjoying a reported 20 percent royalties from replica kit sales and other merchandise. The basic Adidas deal represents a SUBSTANTIAL increase in basic income from the club's main kit supplier. Adidas paying even MORE than £60m For starters it's believed Liverpool stand to benefit by FAR more than the initial £60m per year which has been reported. And the deal lasts 10 years - providing a guaranteed income stream worth over £600m stretching into the decade ahead. Factor in the sales and performance bonuses and you can see how lucrative this tie-up will end up being. Liverpool will now be better able to forecast budgets in the seasons ahead - as well as remain in line with PSR obligations. And the way that transfers are accounted for in the club's books could also mean that this Adidas deal proves VERY useful in the chase for Alexander Isak. © LFC Isak could cost only £30m a year So-called transfer amortisation means that a deal worth £150m - for example - would only impact accounts by £30m per year over a five-year contract. Given that Liverpool have guaranteed themselves a minimum £30m uplift per annum simply by switching from Nike to Adidas, the benefits of this kit deal alone could pay Isak's British record transfer fee of £150m. Isak a flagship Adidas player And don't forget Isak's long-standing relationship with Adidas football. He has been wearing Adidas boots since his days as a teenager back at AIK. The 25-year-old has featured prominently in Adidas promotional campaigns - for Newcastle and through personal endorsements. If he moves to Liverpool he will be joining one of the biggest attractions in the football world - meaning a huge opportunity exists for mutually beneficial marketing deals.

Chelsea striker Armando Broja is set to join Burnley after Everton loan spell

Chelsea striker Armando Broja is set to join Burnley after spending last season on loan at Everton, according to RMC Sports journalist Fabrice Hawkins and Fabrizio Romano. The 23-year-old was with the Toffees at Goodison Park last term, playing 11 times across all competitions. He failed to weigh in with a goal or an assist as his fitness struggles hindered him from regular opportunities. Everton opted against doing a permanent deal for Broja as they prepare for life at Hill Dickinson Stadium and have signed French striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal instead. However, Burnley are keen on the Chelsea outcast upon their return to the Premier League, and he will be desperate to prove himself after some underwhelming performances in front of goal in recent seasons. The England-born Albanian international was at Fulham in 2023-24, making only eight appearances without scoring. Broja last impressed back in 2022-23, notching nine goals in 38 games for Southampton, and Everton were hoping he could recover that form on Merseyside last term. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and it will be interesting to see how the striker fares as he looks to impress at his sixth club. Burnley are desperate to impress as they look to retain their Premier League status at the end of next season. The Turf Moor club have completed permanent deals for Bashir Humphreys, Jaidon Anthony, Marcus Edwards and Zian Flemming after their impressive loan spells last term. Clarets manager Scott Parker has also added Quilindschy Hartman, Max Weiss, Axel Tuanzebe, Loum Tchaouna, Kyle Walker and Jacob Bruun Larsen to his squad, and Broja is next in line. He is no longer needed at Chelsea as the Blues have more than enough options in the striking department, but he still has the potential to turn out solid. Parker will be eager to pull out all the stops to get the best out of Broja and have him firing on all cylinders.
