Mithun Chakraborty's Son Claims Bollywood ‘Insulted' His Parents
Mithun Chakraborty's son, Mimoh Chakraborty, recently spoke about how Bollywood's top actors insulted his parents, recalling that it became too much for him.
Mahaakshay Chakraborty, son of actors Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali, has delivered notable performances in movies like Haunted 3d and Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. Also known as Mimoh Chakraborty, the actor recently opened up about the harsh criticism he faced in the film industry. During a recent interview, Mimoh recalled how Bollywood's top actors insulted his parents, Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Mimoh revealed how he dealt with family criticism and scrutiny. He said, 'The meanest things were like they were making fun of my mom. I would understand for my dad, yes, carrying his legacy. Mere zariye, they were insulting dad, because you cannot pinpoint and say ki Mithun Chakraborty isme kharab tha. It's because his legacy is so strong, toh unko laga chalo Mimoh ke through humlog Mithun Chakraborty ko bhi gaali de denge."
The 40-year-old actor added, 'So they weren't writing my name, they said Mithun Chakraborty's son, Mithun da ka beta, so they wanted to feel good, whoever they were. But then it became too much, and it was going to my mother. And there were actors in the industry who did that."
Mimoh recalled how many top actors were doing the same, saying, 'Forget normal people, audience, it was people from the industry jo khule aam jaake mom ka mazaak uda rahe the. And it became a little too much for me. Ki yaar mere tak thik hai, dad tak thik hai, but mom pe mat jaao, (it is fine with me, it is fine with dad, but don't go on mother.) You know. But then I know we all go through this."
He also talked about the pressure of carrying his father's legacy in the film industry. 'Pehele lagta tha, abhi nahi lagta hai. (I used to feel that before, but not now). Abhi, I am just playing the characters, which I believe in. Because kya hoga, if I go on set thinking that every shot has to be better than my father, woh kabhi nahi ho payega; because he is him. Mithun Chakraborty will always be one Mithun Chakraborty. I can't imitate him. Even if I do, I won't be able to reach his stature, and I just want to be Mimoh," he said.
The actor concluded that he wants to be remembered by his own legacy. 'Now, when you see Khakee, I was in it, I cannot compete with my father, and I don't want to compete with him. I just want to be Mimoh," he added.

Prithviraj Sukumaran compares his Sarzameen co-star Kajol to Mohanlal, calls her ‘a truly gifted artist…'
Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kajol recently made the headlines as they appeared together in the Bollywood movie Sarzameen. As the movie premiered on JioHotstar, the Kaduva actor compared his co-star to Malayalee superstar Mohanlal. What made Prithviraj consider Kajol and Mohanlal to be similar? Talking with Bollywood Bubble, Prithviraj Sukumaran said, 'Kajol is wonderful, she's a truly gifted artist. And, she is an instinctive actor. The greatest thing about collaborating with such actors is that they make the pitch for your character unpredictable.' 'It's not like you have rehearsed with them a couple of times. It also happens with Mohanlal sir. He's very instinctive as an actor. If we do 5 takes with him, each take will be different from the others. Kajol is a lot like him. She truly believes in being instinctive about her performance pitch,' he added. Prithviraj's team hits back against false rumors In recent times, reports suggested that Prithviraj claimed Lucifer 3 would be the biggest action venture in Indian cinema, even including underwater action sequences. However, the actor's team, Poffactio, has hit back against these rumors, clearing the air. The team has also criticized news portals for spreading false claims and said, 'We express our disappointment in major channels for spreading false news claiming that Prithviraj Sukumaran made statements about the L3 movie. These reports are entirely untrue.' 'It appears this misinformation originated from a fake profile ID as part of a hate campaign. We request all channels to cross-check facts before reporting and to republish corrected news to clarify the truth to the public and Prithviraj's well-wishers,' the post read. Here's the official post: About Sarzameen Sarzameen is a Hindi-language movie starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and Ibrahim Ali Khan in leading roles. The film follows the story of Vijay Menon, an Indian Army officer who seemingly loses his son only to discover him to be part of a militant group after many years. The movie, written and directed by Kayoze Irani, was directly released on OTT and received mixed reviews. Moving ahead, Prithviraj Sukumaran is next set to appear in the lead role for the Malayalam movie Vilayath Buddha. Mimoh Chakraborty recalls playing games with Shah Rukh Khan during Kuch Kuch Hota Hai shoot, talks about bond with Salman Khan: ‘I am very fortunate…'
Actor Mimoh Chakraborty's movie career has not been very fruitful so far. Since his debut film, Mimoh has, unfortunately, not been able to catapult himself into the stardom that many aspire to. However, he is content with his journey, having been fortunate enough to be guided by superstars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, among others. During a recent appearance on SCREEN's 'Dear Me…', Mimoh recalled his fond memories with the two Bollywood icons. Like other kids from a film lineage, Mimoh Chakraborty also shared his views on nepotism and recalled the advice Abhishek Bachchan once gave him. Talking about how he dealt with negativity after Jimmy (2008) didn't do well, Mimoh said, 'I remember meeting Abhishek Bachchan during my dull phase; he has also gone through all of this. He eventually became such a big star with his charisma and fights. He said, 'No matter what the world tells you, never stop believing in yourself and fight back.' I remember that even today. Everything I read about me was a stepping stone to something else.' Also Read: Mimoh Chakraborty recalls the 'mega stardom' wife Madalsa Sharma saw with Anupamaa: 'My dad Mithun Chakraborty pushed her to take it up' Mimoh Chakraborty also spoke about how Salman Khan was always there for him. 'Salman bhai is a very loving man; he and my dad (veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty) have been very close. Their friendship is something I look up to; Dad and Bhai have been the best of friends. The same love he has given me as well. Whenever I want to talk to him, he is always there. I am very fortunate to get that love and attention from him. Not just him, even Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Arjun Rampal… they all have done this for me. I have been very fortunate to meet these amazing people, and whenever I have met them, they have always guided me to do something better in life. It is very rare to have this; our industry is very cut-throat and competitive. When you meet superstars like these who are willing to advise you for your betterment, I feel very fortunate.' Mimoh said. He also recalled the first time he met Salman Khan and said, 'Salman bhai has always gone out of his way to do something for me. I love him for that. I remember in Ooty, he had come for shooting and was sitting with that. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a bandana; the aura he had was 'my god!' He was sitting in Dad's office when I was introduced. I was a kid back then and had this Polaroid camera. So I asked Dad to click my picture with him, and the next day I showed that photo to everybody in my school.' A post shared by Mahaakshay Chakraborty (@mimohchakraborty) Mimoh also recalled how SRK played games with him on his computer during the shooting of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He said, 'Even with SRK… they were shooting for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and staying in our Monarch Hotel. Imagine King Khan coming to our room! He was sitting with Dad, and then he opened my PC to play Flight Simulator with me and my brother Rimo. Both of us were looking at each other and thinking, 'King Khan was sitting with us!' He was so nice.' Commenting on the popular belief that star kids get opportunities very easily, Mimoh Chakraborty gave his take on nepotism. He said, 'It's not true. Why is nepotism given such a bad reputation? We are attracted to this world we have been exposed to since we were kids. We just know people. I know Salman Khan, SRK, and other great people, but they don't owe me anything. They love my father, but they don't owe my father anything, nor does he. There is a familiarity, but that's it. I can go to Salman bhai and ask him how he is doing, but nothing beyond that. I don't use the word 'star kid' because I feel it's like a curse word for us. People from the film lineage will be given the opportunity, but in the end, it is always the hard work, the mantle, your talent, your thirst and hunger, and above all, your destiny. I am the poster boy of anti-nepotism, and I am very proud of it. But having said that, everyone deserves an opportunity.' Mimoh Chakraborty recalls the ‘mega stardom' wife Madalsa Sharma saw with Anupamaa: ‘My dad Mithun Chakraborty pushed her to take it up'
Actor Mimoh Chakraborty, who was last seen in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, recently appeared on SCREEN's Dear Me Season 2. During the conversation, Mimoh opened up about his struggles and journey. He also expressed pride in his wife, Madalsa Sharma, for her success on television with Anupamaa. Talking about the time Madalsa was offered the show, Mimoh said, 'She got this show offered at the peak of COVID-19. Lockdown was in March and they started shooting in July. They were shooting in extreme conditions. She took the dare, and my dad pushed her and supported her to take this up. He always says that if you ever get a shot on TV, take it. He says that the generation today knows him because of TV, so we never let go of a good opportunity on TV if we get one.' Also Read: When Mimoh revealed father Mithun Chakraborty didn't help with his film debut: 'He didn't make me feel like a star kid' 'She took it, and the show became a blockbuster. She saw mega-stardom. Everywhere she goes, it's Anupamaa Ki Kavya. It's a proud feeling as a husband. I have seen her waking up every day at 5 am, leaving at 6 am for the shoot, and being on set at 7 am. They would shoot till 9-10 pm, and she would be so tired that she would fall asleep while having dinner. There is so much work to do in TV, but she never gave up,' Mimoh added. Talking about the success of Anupamaa, Mimoh Chakraborty said, 'I was completely blown away to see the popularity her character in Anupamaa got. None of us had imagined it would be the way it is. Even today, when we go out, 90 per cent of people call her Kavya. Anupamaa penetrated every generation. Her role was very strong. Kavya was a woman of today; she stood up for what she believed in.' Mimoh also spoke about how they got married and said that his dad, Mithun Chakraborty, had a crucial role to play in it. 'I had done a film with Madalsa's mom, Sheela David, called Hamilton Palace, and we had always known each other. That's how I met Madalsa. We were friends. There was familiarity. Her dad had worked with my dad. When the marriage conversations began, we just started talking to each other, and one thing led to another.' A post shared by Madalsa M Chakraborty (@madalsasharma) 'One day, I told her that my dad is very much into astrology, and I asked for her birth details to see what the future had in store for her. When I gave her birth details to dad, he said that we would make a good couple. When I told this to Madalsa, she thought it was very clever — kind of like a smooth way to DM her. And then, we got married,' said Mimoh. Mimoh Chakraborty and Madalsa Sharma tied the knot in 2018. On the work front, after Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, Mimoh will be next seen in the next installment of the Haunted franchise.
