Strelec was unhappy last season when his January move to Celtic fell through after Slovan Bratislava slapped a £9million price tag on him.
He even refused to play after the window had ended before resolving his dispute with the club and helping Slovan win another title by scoring 20 goals.
But he has stressed he is only concentrating on playing for Slovan Bratislava for the new season.
He said: "I thought about the failed transfer for a while, I admit, about two weeks, then I got myself together.
"As it turned out, I got injured anyway after it.
"But in the end, everything turned out well and I'm glad I stayed.
"It was my best season so far. It started with the European Championships, after which I joined Slovan after a short break. I didn't even have a long break, which actually helped me.
"I did really well for both Slovan and the national team.
"We have achieved great success in recent years.
"I definitely feel the expectations have risen here.
"I think people are now expecting at least the Europa League group stages, but it's not that easy. But nothing is impossible.
"But of course our aim is to play in the Champions League again."

‘Really big club' – Son of Chelsea Champions League hero signs for Arsenal in Gunners' latest raid on London rivals
Fans have grown tired of Arsenal buying so many players from Chelsea in recent seasons RY SMILE 'Really big club' – Son of Chelsea Champions League hero signs for Arsenal in Gunners' latest raid on London rivals Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ARSENAL have continued their ongoing raid of London rivals Chelsea by signing a former Blues academy kid to his first professional contract at the Emirates. Marcell Washington, son of Chelsea Champions League final hero Ryan Bertrand, has put pen to paper on a pro deal with the Gunners after leaving Chelsea's youth set-up last season. Washington has big ambitions for his career too, hoping to surpass his dad during his playing days - despite Bertand's dream European debut in the 2012 Champions League final going down in history in SW6. Washington said: "I think it's been such an honour to have him take me through clips and walk me through games that I've played. 'He's really passionate about making me a better player and probably a better version of him. We might have a bit of an argument about it but you get it out of him." "The club are always striving to win trophies. I'm just looking to be an addition to that and see what I can offer the club.' The talented defender, who has been handed the number 55 at Arsenal, is ready to compete with the likes of Jurrien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly for a place in the first team in the future. He added: "They're all great players that play in and around my position, which I think is a really good thing and training with them and getting the opportunities is really good as well. 6 Bertrand went down in history at Chelsea after helping them win the Champions League in 2012 on his European debut Credit: Getty BEST FREE BETS AND BETTING SIGN UP OFFERS "Because you obviously want to learn from players with such experience and such high skill with all of the games.' Washington becomes the latest name on a growing list of players Arsenal have lured away from Stamford Bridge in recent seasons. Christian Norgaard breaks down in tears after seeing young son in Arsenal kit for the first time Since Mikel Arteta took over in N5, Arsenal have signed five first team players from Chelsea including the likes of Jorginho, Kai Havertz and this summer's addition of Kepa Arrizabalaga. It looks like that number is only going to continue climbing too, after news broke of Arsenal coming to an agreement with the Blues over the signing of Noni Madueke. Arsenal are set to pay a fee in excess of £50m for the winger, who has already agreed a five-year contract with Arteta's side and is flying home from the Club World Cup in the USA to finalise the deal. There's a growing sense of frustration amongst Arsenal fans at the club continually using rivals Chelsea as their summer shopping window, especially following the lack of success many of the players have had after making the jump. Last season's loan move for Raheem Sterling and 2020's arrival of Willian are examples of players who have failed to impress for the Gunners after leaving Chelsea. Arsenal fans appear to be concerned that history could repeat itself with Madueke, with many being vocal of their displeasure at the impending move. So much so that an online petition asking Arsenal not to sign the England international has gained almost 5,000 signatures in a matter of days. While video circulating online has shown murals of Mikel Arteta and Josh Kroenke outside the Emirates Stadium being defaced with obscenities and the words "Arteta Out".

Luis Enrique urges PSG to end ‘exceptional season' with Club World Cup victory
The crack French outfit are on the brink of an extraordinary quintuple having won the Champions League as well as three domestic trophies, all while playing exhilarating football, during the 2024-25 campaign. Only Chelsea stand between them and an historic achievement in New York this weekend. Ousmane Dembele has shone for PSG this season but Enrique says success has been a collective effort (Mike Egerton/PA) PSG's success has come without reliance on stellar individuals, with the club having moved away from their past policy of big-name signings to focus on the collective strength of the group. 'There are 11 stars in this team – we don't just want one,' said Enrique, alluding to the fact Sunday's winners will be entitled to wear a gold star on their shirts for the next four years. 'That is what we have and I would say it's not 11 but 13, 14, 15. That is something we have put together to make the team the star. 'We are heading into the last game of the season with very good vibes and it is important for us to finish this historic season in the best way possible. 'It has been sensational from my players, they have been incredible throughout the year. We have made history and want to keep going.' Continuing the theme, Enrique was keen to deflect praise from his own role in PSG's success. The former Barcelona and Spain manager said: 'I am no star. I wasn't as a player, and I am not now. 'I am enjoying my job and it is marvellous when things go well, because our job allows us to make so many people happy. 'But I have done much better in other times when I faced a lot of criticism. That is no problem for me because I am more motivated when I am criticised than when I am praised. 'As for it being my best season as a coach, it could be – but we need to win on Sunday to cap it off.' PSG, who thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-finals, are strong favourites to prevail against a Chelsea side that have defied pre-tournament predictions to reach the final. But Enrique said: 'They won the Conference League, they are improving and have very good players. 'The coach is doing a great job. I really like Enzo Maresca and the type of football he plays. 'It is not going to be an easy match. We will try to give our all, give 100 per cent and finish an exceptional season.'

Palace 'dismayed' by Uefa's decision
Crystal Palace say they "are extremely dismayed by Uefa's decision to exclude the club from the Europa League."The Eagles were ordered on Friday to compete in the Conference League by Uefa for breaching multi-club ownership Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, could replace FA Cup winners Palace in the Europa a statement, the club said: "It's clear for everyone to see that we are not part of a multi-club operation and never have been. Further with the completion of the sale of Eagles's football's shareholding to Woody Johnson there will be zero possibility of conflict of interest once the competition begins. "We will continue to press our case and work with Uefa to achieve the fair and just outcome so that we may take our rightful place in the Europa League, as well as taking legal advice to consider our options, including an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport."
