Radhika Yadav's best friend claims her father was plotting her death for three days, quashes love jihad claims: 'He had no remorse'

Time of India13-07-2025
The tragic death of 25-year-old tennis player Radhika Yadav on July 11 has sent shockwaves across the country. The young athlete was allegedly shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav, at their home in Gurugram's Sector 57. Days after the incident, Radhika's best friend and fellow tennis player, Himaanshika Singh Rajput, has come forward with serious allegations against the family, sharing deeply personal insights into Radhika's life.
Friend claims Radhika's life was tightly controlled and monitored by her parents for years
Taking to Instagram, Himaanshika said she initially chose to stay silent to grieve her friend's loss. But as false narratives began circulating, she felt compelled to speak out. In two now-viral videos, she addressed everything from the alleged motive behind the killing to the toxic environment Radhika reportedly endured at home.
'My best friend Radhika was murdered by her own father. He shot her five times—four bullets hit her. He made her life miserable with constant control and criticism. In the end, he was influenced by people who were jealous of her success,' Himaanshika said in her emotional post.
She claimed Radhika's life was strictly monitored—from her clothing choices to her interactions with others. Even during video calls, Radhika was allegedly made to prove whom she was speaking with.
'We started playing together around 2012 or 2013. She was so reserved, but not by choice—she had no freedom. Her parents shamed her for wearing shorts, for talking to boys, and for being independent. Even though her tennis academy was just 50 meters away, she wasn't allowed to be late,' Himaanshika recalled.
According to her, Radhika had stopped making videos and taking photos—things she once loved—because her family disapproved.
Viral videos reject 'Love Jihad' claims, reveal emotional abuse and social isolation
Himaanshika also denied ongoing rumours suggesting a communal motive, such as Love Jihad, in the case.
'People are throwing around the term 'Love Jihad,' but where's the proof? She barely spoke to anyone. Her life was isolated; her home was not a place of freedom,' she said.
In a follow-up video shared just an hour ago, Himaanshika revealed how she learnt of her friend's death through a news article. When Radhika didn't answer her calls, she saw a photo of the house and realised it was indeed Radhika's home—the shock of the realisation hit her hard.
She went on to claim that Radhika's father had allegedly planned the murder for three days. He reportedly locked Radhika's mother in a separate room, sent her brother out for errands, and even got the family's pit bull out of the house—all while waiting for the right moment to act.
Allegations claim jealous peers encouraged father to kill; Himaanshika slams toxic male ego
Himaanshika further alleged that Radhika's father had been influenced by so-called friends who were envious of her success. According to her, they told him things like, 'She wears makeup now, short clothes. You're living off her money—you should make her sit in the market.'
Visibly angry, Himaanshika asked, 'How long will women continue to suffer under the weight of male ego?' She also shut down rumours claiming Radhika was chasing viral fame.
'If she was making reels, why was her Instagram account private? She had only 68 followers. Her last post was back in March 2024. I lived with her—I knew her. She was innocent. But in those last 10 days, her life became so miserable that she lost the will to live.' She ended by sharing that Radhika's father showed no emotion, not even a flicker of remorse, when the incident happened.
Radhika was rushed to a nearby hospital after the shooting but succumbed to her injuries. Her last rites were performed at her family's native village in Wazirabad. As the investigation continues, Himaanshika's heartbreaking testimony has revealed the inside details of what actually transpired before a young and talented soul lost her life.

MP minister Kailash Vijayvargiya asks mothers to teach values to daughters, save them from Love Jihad

Kailash Vijayvargiya (File photo) BHOPAL: Minister for urban administration Kailash Vijayvargiya on Sunday said that Love Jihad is a conspiracy through which Hindu girls are being targets and made victims. Speaking at a public function arranged to promote wrestling, the former BJP national general secretary asked mothers to teach 'acchi sanskar' to daughters. He also said that young Hindu girls should check the family background of youths before making friends with them. 'Love Jihad is a conspiracy. Many Hindu girls have become victims of Muslim men,' Vijayvargiya said addressing the public function in Indore-1 assembly constituency area on Sunday. 'Some youths are quoting Hindu fames and emotionally entrapping girls. They are destroying the lives of these young girls. It is essential that we caution girls about such conspiracy,' he said. The minister further argued, 'Mothers and sisters should teach 'acchi sanskar' (good values) to young girls. Make them understand that before making friends with a youth, they should check their family background. It is Sanskar that teaches children to differentiate between the good and the bad.' Vijayvargiya recalled that as a child, his mother would give him milk and food after he recited verses from the Ram Charit Manas. Reciting from the Ram Charit Manas was compulsory at his home because his parents wanted him to follow the principles of Lord Rama. He said that presently television serials are disturbing young minds. 'Send your children to the park so they can learn wrestling and make good friends,' he said. 'Mobile phones have become the close friends of today's children which is affecting their health and thinking,' Vijayvargiya argued. Recalling Indore's sensational Raja Raghuvanshi honeymoon murder case, Vijayvargiya said, 'Had Sonam (Raja Raghuvanshi's wife who is allegedly involved in the murder of her husband) been trained in good ethics and values, her mother and father would not have had to hide their faces today.' Meanwhile, state Congress reacted strongly to Vijayvargiya's comment. State PCC spokesman Abhinav Barolia demanded an apology from Kailash Vijayvargiya for his remarks. 'The minister must apologise to women for his remarks. He cannot suppress people by shirking responsibility and talking about teaching values. Your party's govt has been in power in the state for more than two decades and there is a BJP govt at the Centre. And then, you pin the blame on mothers and sisters. What is the double-engine govt doing?' he asked.

'Love Jihad' Accused Says He Is A Victim, Wants To Convert Again

Agra: A man arrested in a large-scale illegal religious conversion racket has said that he is also a victim and that he wants to convert to Hinduism again, sources told NDTV on Monday. Mohammad Ali is among 10 people who were arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police from six states in the 'love jihad' case last Saturday. The probe began in Agra in March after two sisters -- aged 33 and 18 -- were reported missing. Agra Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar had said preliminary investigations found that the sisters were targeted by a gang involved in ' love jihad ' and radicalisation. "We found clues about their funding originating from the US and Canada," he had said. . — POLICE COMMISSIONERATE AGRA (@agrapolice) July 19, 2025 Ali, a resident of Rajasthan who was Piyush Panwar before converting, has told the police about the conversion network. Lodged in an Agra jail, he broke down during the initial interrogation by the police and said that he wanted to return home, sources said. He also said he wanted to leave Islam and become a Hindu. He said he wants to apologise to his parents, who broke ties with him after he converted to Islam. How Piyush Panwar Became Mohammad Ali The story of Piyush Panwar becoming Mohammad Ali started in 2021, when he first met Shana, a woman from Rajasthan's Tonk. They then fell in love and decided to get married, sources said. Shana, however, put a condition, saying that Piyush will have to accept Islam. Piyush agreed and changed his name to Mohammad Ali in the same year. Shana then rejected him after he was converted. Ali, whose family had cut ties with him, then decided not to convert again and married a Muslim girl from Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly, according to sources. How Mohammad Ali Became Part Of Conversion Racket While trying to convert to Islam, he had come into contact with Mohammad Gaus, a member of the Popular Front of India (PFI), which was banned by the Centre in 2022 for its alleged links with global terrorist organisations. Through Gaus, he met a cleric, Kaleem Siddiqui, in Delhi, who was convicted in a separate conversion case last year. Ali then went to West Bengal for religious education. He stayed in the madrasas in Asansol, Bardhaman and Katwapara for three months. About a year ago, he came in contact with a woman, Ayesha, from Goa on Instagram. Ayesha, who is also among the 10 people arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police, used to record the names of the girls who were converted to Islam. The police have said that Ali is a close associate of Ayesha. Ali, who was arrested in Jaipur, has also told the police that the members of the PFI and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) are also linked with their network. Besides Ali and Ayesha, the other accused arrested in the case under 'Mission Asmita', an ongoing initiative aimed at dismantling such illegal syndicates, have been identified as Hasan Ali and Osama from Kolkata, Rahman Qureshi from Agra, Abu Talib from Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), Abdur Rehman from Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Mohammad Ali and Junaid Qureshi from Rajasthan, and Mustafa from Delhi. "The modus operandi of the gang involved illegal conversion and radicalisation bears a signature of ISIS," the police had said. The arrests come days after another man, Chhangur Baba, alias Jamaluddin, the mastermind of a religious conversion gang, was arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police's Anti-Terrorism Squad.
