Top recruit in 2027 class discusses UNC basketball program
The North Carolina Tar Heels have a three-player recruiting class coming in headlined by five-star forward Caleb Wilson in 2025. Hubert Davis did a good job assembling the class as he looks for his team to improve on last season.
But the focus on the future is also there for the Tar Heels as well.
One prospect the Tar Heels are pursuing in the 2027 class is power forward CJ Rosser. The Rocky Mount, North Carolina native is a priority recruit for the Tar Heels not only because he's ranked No. 2 overall in the class but because he's an in-state recruit.
While Rosser's recruitment is far from over, he caught up with Sam Lance of Zag's Blog to update his recruitment and he talked about Hubert Davis and UNC. Here is what he had to say about the Tar Heels:
North Carolina: 'I was talking with coach [Hubert] Davis. He's a chill guy. He talked about how their players come to his house every now and then just so they can have a little talk. He treats them like family.'
Duke, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame are also involved as are several other programs. The 6-foot-9, 195-pound Rosser is ranked No. 2 nationally, the No. 1 power forward and No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
He currently has 11 total offers in his recruitment and will have more as the recruitment goes on.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day previews 2025 season with Big Ten Network

Another Big Ten football media days is in the books, and there was plenty to take from it. There were some controversial statements, excited and optimistic players and coaches, and many other things to make note of during the three-day event in Las Vegas. It was all covered and televised by the Big Ten Network in extraordinary fashion, and one of the things BTN loves to do is to bring players and coaches to the desk after the day of press conferences is over to go a little deeper into previewing the upcoming season, and of course, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was a part of that. The trio of Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo, and Howard Griffith sat down with Day to talk about a myriad of things and storylines surrounding the Buckeyes. We have the complete interview, thanks to the Big Ten Football YouTube channel. In the nearly 12-minute interview, Day touches on the youth of this year's team, the quarterback competition, juggling the transfer portal, the season-opening matchup with Texas, and much more. We are just a little over a month from the season kicking off with a home game vs. Texas, and we'll continue to analyze, project, and react to any news and moments leading up to fall camp and beyond. Former Michigan State basketball star signs contract with Italian basketball team

Former Michigan State basketball star Denzel Valentine has found his next professional home for the 2025-26 basketball season. Valentine will be heading to Venice, Italy, where he will be suiting up for Reyer Venezia of the Lega Basket Serie A. This is going to be the second straight year that Valentine has spent in Italy, playing for Pallacanestro Trieste of the same league last season. Following a career at Michigan State from 2012-2016, where Valentine was a National Player of the Year and an All-American, he was drafted in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft to the Chicago Bulls. Valentine then spent 2016-2022 in the NBA, but injuries derailed any momentum he could get in the league. Since leaving the NBA, Valentine has spent time in the NBA G League and Australia's NBL, before settling recently in Italy.
