The supermarket has increased the price of its popular meal deal to almost £4
Shoppers have already spotted the hike, with one person writing on X: "Sainsburys meal deal gone up to £3.90 we are in the end times."
Another said: "Had to do a double take when I saw the price increase."
A third said the supermarket was "sneaking" the price up.
Another added: "This is not a drill - Sainsbury's meal deals have been upped again and are £3.95 - it was £3.75 before today."
A fifth shopper said: "Why TF was my Sainsbury's meal deal £3.95 - should we all just give up?"
Sainsbury's staff were also complaining on Reddit.
One posted: "Wow saw that the meal deal has gone up to £3.95. Did anyone else know beforehand or did my managers fail to inform us this was happening?"
Another added: "Honestly I just tend not to eat at work anymore. Eatings too expensive."
A third said: "Saw it last night , funny , we all said it's packed lunch then , we will still buy it , because we still struggle to wake up for work."
The change comes less than a year after Sainsbury's last hiked the price of its meal deal.
Save with secret codes
The supermarket's meal deal went up in July 2024 from £3.50 to £3.75.
Shoppers said at the time the sudden price hike was "sneaky".
The price of the more expensive Premium meal deal has not changed from £5.
Customers can choose a combination of a main, a side and a drink.
Popular choices include sandwiches, a piece of fruit or bag of crisps and a Diet Coke or Lipton Ice Tea.
The supermarket recently introduced 35 new products into its meal deal range, including the option to build your own salad.
A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: "With millions of possible combinations, we continue to offer one of the best value meal deals around.
"We've also recently introduced a range of new products just in time for summer, including our best-seller Picnic Triple Sandwich and build your own salad options.
"This means anyone who shops with us can choose from an affordable selection of over 150 mains, 300 snacks and 400 drinks."
How do other supermarkets compare?
The Sun recently looked at how much a meal deal will set you back at different shops.
Even with the price increase, the Sainsbury's meal deal is still - just about - among the cheapest options.
The most expensive meal deal comes from Waitrose, which charges £5.
Boots, Co-op, Morrisons and Tesco all charge £4 if you don't use their loyalty cards.
If you have a Boots Advantage Card, the deal is £3.60.
You can get a meal deal for the same price at Tesco if you have a Clubcard.
If you're a Co-op member you can get the lunchtime deal for £3.50.
Morrisons More Card holders can get the meal deal for £3.60.
Some of these supermarkets have also increased the price of their meal deals recently.
Tesco put its prices up from £3.40 to £3.60 for Clubcard members in August last year.

Morrison offers cheapest grocery basket in UK beating Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda

Thanks to eight promotions, Morrisons has now become the cheapest supermarket. Everyone has their go-to supermarket that they frequently pick over other stores. While we may dip our toe into other shops when in close proximity, there is normally one that we value over others for its prices, range of products, or quality of food. However, for those who want to get the most amount of products for your money, it seems like there is a new frontrunner. Morrisons has now claimed the title of the UK's cheapest supermarket basket. ‌ Using a range of discounts and promotions, Morrisons was able to outperform its rivals Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's to claim the top spot. In a comparison from Grocer 33, which does weekly price comparisons and mystery shopping surveys, Morrisons came out with the lowest overall basket cost from the five stores analysed. ‌ With a total price of £72.39, Morrisons was able to take the title due to having eight deep promotions on key branded items, reports the Express. This includes promotions on Birds Eye chicken pies and This plant-based sausages. The reductions in price, which were part of a wider group of 16 promotions, helped the supermarket cut 9.8 per cent off its overall base prices. In terms of the supermarket price wars, Morrisons' recent win marks a notable shift, as it usually lags behind rivals Tesco and Asda when it comes to competitive pricing. However, by combining price reductions and multibuy offers, Morrisons was able to snag the win, leaving Asda in second place. The rival supermarket's total basket was only 30p more at a price of £72.69. Overall, Asda had more exclusively cheaper items in comparison to its competitors, with 13 of its products topping the affordability chart. Some of the items included dauphinoise potatoes, Kellogg's Coco Pops cereal bars and Absolut & Sprite RTD can. ‌ However, when looking at the multibuy savings, Morrison was 6.4 per cent better than Asda. This shows how important strategic promotional pricing can be to overall savings. At 4.7 per cent more expensive than Morrisons, Sainsburys came in third place with a basket price of £75.96. While the retailer lacked the volume of deals offered by the other two supermarkets, they did offer the best price on muffins and Muller Rice. ‌ Tesco was not far behind with a basket cost of £76.66. This basket price was helped by the supermarket's Clubcard Prices, which reduced the price of select items such as Oreo Ice Cream Mini Sandwiches and Schar gluten-free loaf. However, this still didn't make as big of an impact as its rivals. Unsurprisingly, Waitrose had the most expensive basket of the five stores, with a total cost of £82.79 - £10 more expensive than Morrisons. ‌ However, if anyone was looking for Marigold gloves or Alpro coconut milk, Waitrose offered the best prices. According to data from the Office of National Statistics, chocolate prices have been seen to shoot up this year, with an increase of 17.7 per cent this year up to May. One of the steepest hikes in price was on Cabury's drinking chocolate - up by 14 per cent. However, chocolate isn't the only product to see significant rises, as sausages have also experienced a similar price hike. On the flip side, 17 products selected for the Grocer 33 basket were surprisingly cheaper than this time last year. For example, Nivea moisturiser fell by 11 per cent, while Dauphinoise potatoes dropped by 13 per cent. To see the full analysis from Grocer 33, click HERE.

Dyson announces latest Airwrap styler that's faster and lighter than older models

Dyson's 'most advanced' Airwrap styler to date is expected to be released soon. With the first Dyson Airwrap Styler launched back in 2018, the tech brand has since released a variety of models so shoppers can achieve bouncy curls and gorgeous blow dries with ease. Now fans will be delighted to hear that Dyson's most awarded hair styler is getting an upgrade this year. Set to be released in September, Dyson has just launched the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x multi-styler and dryer. Available in both Jasper Plum and Ceramic Pink, this new Airwrap is said to make styling easier while also protecting your hair. With a price tag of £579.99, shoppers will need to sign up to Dyson's newsletter to be alerted of when the styler is ready to hit the shelves. So what can shoppers expect from this new Airwarp? Said to be Dyson's 'most advanced' Airwrap yet, the Co-anda multi-styler will feature a brand new motor that "spins nine times faster than a Formula 1 car engine", reports the Mirror. On top of this, the device includes smart sensor technology that will adapt each attachment to the best airflow and temperature settings. In comparison to the Airwarp i.d. styler (RRP £479.99), is latest edition is smaller and lighter, making it easier for shoppers to use through their hair. Coming with a Dyson-designed case, the Co-anda styler comes with two sets that consist of six attachments. The Straight + Wavy set consists of a 30mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, 40mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, anti-snag loop brush 2x, round volumising brush 2x, AirSmooth 2x attachment and fast dryer 2x. And for the Curly + Coily set, shoppers will get a 40mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, anti-snag loop brush 2x, round volumising brush 2x, tension comb 2x, Wave+Curl diffuser 2x and fast dryer 2x. With a new and improved motor, users will see a reduction in the amount of time that it takes to curl their hair. In fact, the device will be able to create tight, voluminous and loose curls faster by using 30 per cent more product power and two times more air pressure than older devices. Users should also have a more comfortable experience with the new Airwrap as it comes with an anti-snag loop brush. This attachment comes with new hook bristles that should provide increased control nearer the root of the hair, while also providing comfort on the scalp. For those who instead want to straighten their hair, they will be able to do so with the AirSmooth 2x attachment. This add-on features two non-heated contact bars and two jets of high velocity air. This should remove frizz while also straightening the hair. Once the attachment has completely passed through your hair, the arms will automatically unclamp to release the hair to avoid any unnecessary damage. Some fans of Dyson's hair care products have already seen the trailer video of Dyson's newest Airwrap, and a few were quick to leave their guesses about the device. One person said: "Oh looks like a blow dryer, a new smooth brush, round brush, curler… and is that a straightener attachment?" Beauty deal of the week Looking to get that salon blowdry from home? The UK's most affordable seaside towns have been named – and taking top spot is a scenic location right here in Scotland. The Co-operative Bank examined key affordability factors across coastal towns to determine which were the best value for money. The research studied average house and rental prices, the number of beaches, crime rates, walkability scores, and daily sunshine hours. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Topping the list to be crowned the UK's most budget-friendly seaside town is Oban, with an overall affordability score of 9.82 out of 10. Known as 'Scotland's seafood capital, this picturesque town has one of the lowest average house prices at £220,458. Rent is also notably affordable, averaging £800 per month, just 34.7% of the average monthly income, the lowest rent-to-income ratio among all the locations analysed. Oban had an overall affordability score of 9.82 out of 10. Morecambe ranks second with a total affordability score of 9.80 out of 10. This Lancashire gem captures the essence of the English seaside and has some of the most affordable house prices in the country. The average house price here is lower than in Oban at £194,295. However, rent prices in Morecambe are slightly higher, at an average of £821 per month, working out at 37.7% of the average monthly income. Blackpool ties with Morecambe for second place, scoring 9.80. The average house price in Blackpool is around £147,449, making it the most affordable seaside town in the UK for property purchases. Unfortunately, Blackpool is slightly let down by its rent prices. At an average of £704 per month, rent in Blackpool works out as 40% of the average monthly salary, which is higher than in Morecambe or Oban. That said, it remains among the most budget-friendly options in the country.
