Australian Reality Star Charged With Murder After Boyfriend's Headless Body Found
"It was a confronting scene for police and emergency services personnel as Julian's body had been dismembered. Julian's head had been removed during the dismemberment and, despite extensive searches, has not yet been located," South Australia Police said in a statement Friday.
Police believe he was killed around midnight on Tuesday, June 17.
A witness reported seeing smoke coming from the apartment and approached Chesser, who claimed she was doing nothing. She then took her dogs for a walk and locked the door. Police released surveillance footage showing a woman, believed to be Chesser, dressed in black and walking with three dogs, just hours after the alleged murder on June 17, around midnight.
Police are urging residents to review their surveillance or dashcam footage to aid in the ongoing investigation.
"I can only imagine, and I want you to imagine, the grief this news is causing Julian's family. Recovering Julian's head to return it to his family so they can have a peaceful outcome, have a funeral and lay him to rest is a really important aspect for us," Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke added.
She was taken into custody after police found her in a catatonic and unresponsive state in the backyard of the crime scene, according to court documents. Mr Fielke said there was no obvious motive at this stage, and Chesser was cooperative at the time of the arrest, the ABC reported.
A spokesperson for Mr Story's family said they were "navigating an unimaginable loss" as they thanked police and first responders for their 'compassion and professionalism during this devastating time".
"We are also deeply grateful to our family and friends and this extraordinary community, whose kindness and support have helped carry us through. Your prayers, presence, and quiet strength mean more than words can say," the statement added.
Chesser was the runner-up on the 2010 season of Beauty and the Geek and later modelled for men's magazines including Playboy, Ralph and FHM.
She remains in custody under a mental health detention order and due to appear in court again in December.

Qantas cyberattack becomes Australia's most significant data breach in recent years, with over six million customers exposed
Qantas Airways has confirmed that a cyberattack on one of its customer call centers has exposed the personal data of up to six million customers, potentially becoming one of Australia's most significant data breaches in recent years. In a statement to shareholders early Tuesday(July 1), the airline revealed that the breach occurred on Monday when a cybercriminal gained unauthorized access to a third-party customer service platform used by its contact centers. The system has since been contained, Qantas said. 'Qantas can confirm that a cyber incident has occurred in one of its contact centres, impacting customer data. The system is now contained,' the company said. 'We understand this will be concerning for customers. We are currently contacting customers to make them aware of the incident, apologise, and provide details on the support available.' According to Qantas, the compromised data includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, and frequent flyer numbers. However, financial information such as credit card numbers, passwords, and PINs was not stored in the affected system and has not been compromised. Live Events The airline emphasized that frequent flyer accounts themselves were not accessed and that flight operations and safety systems were not impacted. Cybersecurity analysts have warned that even without financial data, the leaked personal information could be used in phishing attacks and identity theft . CEO issues apology Qantas Group Chief Executive Vanessa Hudson acknowledged the seriousness of the incident, saying the company is treating the matter with the highest priority. 'We sincerely apologise to our customers and we recognise the uncertainty this will cause,' Hudson said. 'Our customers trust us with their personal information and we take that responsibility seriously.' Support and investigation underway Qantas has launched a formal investigation into the scale and nature of the data breach, with assistance from cybersecurity experts, the Australian Cyber Security Centre, the National Cyber Security Coordinator, and the Australian Federal Police. Affected customers are being contacted directly, and a dedicated support line has been set up to offer guidance. Updates will be posted on Qantas' website and social media channels. The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has also been notified, as per data breach regulations. Australia's growing cyber threat This breach is the latest in a series of cyberattacks targeting major Australian companies. Last year, Optus, Medibank, and Latitude Financial also suffered large-scale data exposures, raising alarm about digital security standards in the country. Experts say the aviation sector is increasingly becoming a target due to the volume of sensitive customer data it handles. Economic Times WhatsApp channel )

1,200 To Be Tested As Australian Childcare Worker Charged With Sexual Abuse
Australian health authorities are urging around 1,200 children in the state of Victoria to be tested for infectious diseases after police charged a childcare worker with dozens of sexual abuse offences. Police said on Tuesday that Joshua Brown, a 26-year-old Melbourne man, had been arrested and charged in May with more than 70 offences relating to eight alleged victims. The alleged victims were aged between five months and two years of age and attended Creative Garden Early Learning Centre between April 2022 and January 2023. Police said they had launched a significant investigation since Brown's arrest. Sex crime squad detectives concluded Brown had worked at 20 Melbourne childcare centres between January 2017 and May 2025, and were also investigating allegations of offending at a second childcare centre in Melbourne's north. Victoria's chief health officer, Christian McGrath, said 2,600 families had been contacted by authorities, with 1,200 children recommended to undergo testing for infectious diseases. "This is another distressing element to the situation, and we're taking this approach as a precaution," McGrath told a news conference. "We do believe it's a low risk, but we want to offer this to provide assurance to the parents about the health and wellbeing of their children." Police said the investigation was triggered by the discovery of child abuse material, not by a complaint made by a victim. Acting Police Commander Janet Stevenson said Brown was not previously known to police and held a valid permit to work with children, which has since been cancelled. Brown, who remains in police custody, will appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on September 15. Stevenson said a suppression order on Brown's identity was lifted in order to notify parents with children in childcare. "We felt that it was really important. This is unique. It's very important to ensure that every parent out there that has a child in childcare, knows who he is and where he worked," she said. "It was an unusual decision but it is before the courts and so it is actually public knowledge."
