One of the strongest contenders in this segment is the Ather Rizta, which has already established itself as a reliable and practical electric scooter for daily riders. As Suzuki prepares to launch the e Access, comparisons with the Ather Rizta are inevitable.
Suzuki hasn't yet revealed the official pricing for the e Access. However, we do know that the Ather Rizta, is currently priced between RS 1.11 lakh and ₹ 1.51 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant.
Under the seat, the Suzuki e Access is powered by a 3.07 kWh battery paired with an electric motor that produces 5.49 bhp and 15 Nm of torque. The scooter claims a top speed of 71 kmph and offers a range of 95 km per charge. A full charge takes about 6 hours and 42 minutes.
The Ather Rizta, on the other hand, offers more flexibility with two battery options—2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh. Its claimed range varies from 123 km to 160 km, and it boasts a higher top speed of 80 kmph, making it the stronger performer in terms of both range and speed.
While the Ather Rizta clearly leads in range and top speed, the upcoming Suzuki e Access could attract buyers looking for a balance between performance, brand trust, and likely a slightly lower price tag. With established players entering the electric scooter market aggressively, customers now have more choices than ever.

Meesho, cofounded by Vidit Aatrey (chief executive) and Sanjeev Barnwal (chief technology officer) is looking to get listed around late September or early October, according a to source. Total money mopped up through the IPO will be around Rs 8,500 crore ($1 billion), of which Rs 4,250 crore each will be primary issues and secondary issues. In the run up to its IPO, Meesho too had converted into a public entity like Curefoods last month. The Bengaluru-based Meesho has chosen the confidential route as it looks to protect sensitive information from rivals Flipkart and Amazon among others. Earlier Shadowfax, Curefoods and the leading discount brokerage Groww and many others had done so and allows the issuer to reassess its IPO timelines if market conditions turn.

IL&FS moves NCLT to scrap Brookfield's Rs 1,080-cr bid for BKC property

The Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd (IL&FS) has approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to scrap the Canadian asset management firm Brookfield's Rs 1,080-crore bid for its flagship Bandra Kurla Complex property. IL&FS filed a petition in NCLT Mumbai bench on June 26, seeking to dismiss the Brookfield-backed bid for its flagship BKC property, the IL&FS Financial Centre (TIFC), citing bidder disqualification and non-compliance with bidding conditions. In its petition, IL&FS alleged that an affiliate of Brookfield, Chronos Properties, was required to maintain Performance Guarantee until the execution of definitive agreements. Chronos Properties failed to renew a Rs 108-crore Performance Guarantee, which expired in April, 2025, IL&FS said in the petition, adding that this entitles IL&FS to invoke the performance guarantees in addition to pursue remedies including disqualifying the bidder. "The failure to maintain its bid security has extinguished any entitlement to proceed with the acquisition. The company has, therefore, urged the NCLT to declare Chronos' application infructuous and dismiss it," said the petition. IL&FS has emphasised that 'value maximisation' is an important tenets for the public interest board's mandate under the court-supervised resolution process and approved resolution framework and sought Brookfield to revise its offer in line with the updated valuation, as per the filing with NCLT shoring resolution progress, the petition added. IL&FS further stated that its new board has till date discharged a total debt of Rs 45,000 crore, while maintaining the overall debt resolution target at Rs 61,000 crore.

India's sugar sector has grown to become a Rs 1.3 lakh crore industry, and it is driving rural prosperity and energy security, Union Food Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Thursday. The minister was addressing the 'Cooperative Sugar Industry Conclave 2025' & 'National Efficiency Award Ceremony'. "Under the PM Shri @narendramodi ji's leadership, India's sugar sector has grown into a Rs 1.3 lakh crore industry (annually), driving rural prosperity, energy security and green power through reforms like record ethanol blending and Atmanirbharta in fuel," Joshi said on a social media post. It is inspiring to see how the sector's evolution is shaping a sustainable, self-reliant future for India, he added. The event was organised by National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Limited. It was established in 1960 to build a strong and vibrant co-operative sugar sector in India. All cooperative sugar factories and state cooperative sugar federations across the country are its members. India's ethanol production capacity has jumped more than four times in the last 11 years of the Modi government to 1,810 crore litres annually with the help of favourable policy initiatives, according to a senior official. With an enhanced installed production capacity, the blending of ethanol with petrol has surged to around 19 per cent from 1.53 per cent in 2013, leading to huge savings in foreign exchange more than Rs 1.10 lakh crore as well as benefits to sugarcane and foodgrain farmers.
