Prince William & Kate Middleton Break Strange Royal Tradition Set by King Charles

Yahoo20-05-2025

Since tying the knot in 2011, and have made it clear that they're doing things their own way, and according to former palace butler Grant Harrold, that has included breaking a pretty unusual royal tradition that is still hanging onto.
While talking to UK coffee brand Coffee Friend, Harrold said there's a surprising difference between what happens when someone has tea with elder royals like the king and when William and Middleton are the ones doing the hosting.

"If you're being entertained in the presence of the royal family or at one of their homes, it's most likely you will drink out of a teacup and saucer," Harrold said, via Hello! magazine.
Invited for tea at the Wales' home, Adelaide Cottage? "You can be sure you'll be given a mug," he said.
"If you're with the King and Queen, and it's more of an occasion, you'll probably be served tea or coffee in a cup and saucer or a demi cup," he explained.
It makes sense that the king would be more stringent when it comes to formality and royal protocol than his son's family would be. But after all of the buzz about how the Prince and Princess of Wales are on a mission to modernize the monarchy, there's a chance that William and Middleton's more relaxed nature may stick around even after he takes the throne.

CBS Revisits 'Beyond the Gates' Premiere Week in Special Broadcast Event

CBS Revisits 'Beyond the Gates' Premiere Week in Special Broadcast Event originally appeared on Parade. CBS is doing something interesting for fans of Beyond the Gates, as the newest soap opera to the lineup will take viewers back to where it all began next week. Instead of airing new episodes, CBS will be repeating the first five episodes of Beyond the Gates the week of June 30 - July 4. With the drama expected to continue with new episodes beginning July 7th. Beyond the Gates aired a trailer before it's launch back in January teasing the series. CBS officially describes Beyond the Gates as a soap opera that is 'set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States; a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have 'made it' and those who haven't are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.' Beyond the Gates has a cast of over thirty contracted actors. The soap is anchored by the Dupree family, starring Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree), Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), and Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole Richardson), and their respective families. Beyond The Gates is developed and produced by CBS Studios and the NAACP in partnership with P&G Studios a division of Procter and Gamble. The series is the groundbreaking first hour-long black soap opera to premiere in daytime. The creation is the brainchild of award-winning showrunner Michele Val Jean, in association with executive producer Sheila Ducksworth, and is the first new soap opera to premiere since NBC debuted Passions back in 1999. Beyond The Gates airs weekdays at 2 p.m. EST on CBS and streamed daily on Paramount Plus. Beyond the Gates can be streamed from the beginning on Paramount Plus. Toast is one of those complete dishes that requires nothing more than a single ingredient—high-quality bread. It exists on its own and doesn't need anything extra to be a stunning anytime meal. You can enjoy it simply slathered with butter or jam, schmeared with cream cheese, or topped with a jammy egg, avocado, and chili crisp. It can stand on its own four corners or be the base of any number of delicious creations. So, what's not to love? 😋😋🍳🍔 Whether you enjoy it as a late-night snack, as an addition to your Waffle House All-Star Special, or as the start of a sweet treat when you're feeling too lazy to bake, toast essentially makes the world go round. Of course, toast without a spread, while still incredibly good, just isn't as exciting. Not that toast is bad but any stretch of the imagination, but sometimes things need a little extra encouragement. Maybe spreads actually make the world go round instead. Yeah, that sounds more accurate. Regardless, we love toast and spreads equally, but love when the two come together just a teensy bit for those of us with a sweet tooth, Target has plenty of delectable sweet spreads that taste great on their own, on top of toast, or as a dip for fruit, and @targettrendsetter is sharing all the deets. The Favorite Day Sweet Spreads are now available at Target, and shoppers are saying, 'Those look delicious!' These sweet spreads come in three flavors—s'mores, cookies and cream, and cocoa and popcorn. Each spread stuns when spread on toast or fruit, and can even be enjoyed straight up on a spoon. We can see why fans are saying they 'Have to try these!!' Now, what were we saying about toast again?Fans are Racing to Target to Get Their Hands On This New 'Perfect Summer Treat' first appeared on Parade on Jun 27, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 27, 2025, where it first appeared.

Woman Collapses After Winning Princess Diana's Iconic Dress and Video Goes Viral

Woman Collapses After Winning Princess Diana's Iconic Dress and Video Goes Viral originally appeared on Parade. Often, the most beautiful moments happen when pure emotion meets historical significance, and Renae Plant just delivered both in a viral auction moment that has the internet collectively reaching for tissues. The Princess Diana Museum founder's reaction to winning the People's Princess's iconic "Caring Dress" has become the kind of wholesome content we all needed. The drama unfolded at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills during the "Princess Diana's Style & A Royal Collection" sale on June 26. As bidding climbed from $125,000 to the final hammer price of $400,000 (plus fees totaling $520,000), Plant sat in the front row, bidder number 333, watching her dream potentially slip away. When the auctioneer's gavel finally fell in her favor, Plant's reaction was pure magic. She leaped from her seat, danced with joy, and declared "Oh my god!" before collapsing to the floor in an overwhelming rush of emotion. The moment, captured on video, shows her laughing and crying simultaneously as the room erupted in applause. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Princess Diana Museum ™ (@theprincessdianamuseum) The dress itself carries profound significance beyond its $520,000 price tag. The 1988 Bellville Sassoon floral day dress earned its "Caring" nickname because Diana repeatedly wore it during hospital visits between 1988 and 1992. According to auction house executives, as reported in People, the blue silk creation featuring rainbow flowers was designed to be "colorful, approachable, likeable, and huggable." 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 For Plant, this victory represents more than collecting memorabilia – it's personal history. At 18, she met Diana outside St. Andrews Cathedral in Sydney while wearing a white bikini top and shorts, ditching beach plans to shake hands with her idol. "That moment became the beginning of a lifelong connection to Diana's legacy," Plant shared in a previous Instagram post. "And here's the full-circle moment: She (Princess Diana) wore her blue floral Belville Sassoon dress that day." Fans couldn't be happier about Plant's win, "What a beautiful story!! 🙌🙌 and now you have the dress!! 💗" The virtual Princess Diana Museum, founded by Plant in 2019, now houses over 2,700 items and represents one of the world's largest Diana collections. Her philosophy remains simple: "You cannot put a price tag on history."Plant's emotional auction victory proves that sometimes the most authentic reactions create the most beautiful viral moments. In a world of manufactured content, genuine joy over preserving Diana's legacy feels refreshingly pure.
