With India now in a must-win situation to keep their hopes alive for a first Test series win in England in 18 years, fast bowler
Mohammed Siraj

Siraj, alongside
Ravindra Jadeja
, was fighting hard during the final session of Day 5, inching closer to the target before an unfortunate moment saw him defend a delivery from Shoaib Bashir, only for the ball to roll back onto the stumps and dislodge the bail.

'I had taken the final wicket in 2021 as well. I am a very emotional person; it could have been 2-1. Jaddu bhai fought very hard. But then I said to myself that the series is not over and I will work on my batting.
We kept working hard on our batting since Australia. The 22-run loss was heartbreaking,' Siraj said during the pre-match press conference.
Reflecting further on the dismissal, Siraj said the result might have been different had luck favoured them in that moment.
Mohammed Siraj press conference: Akash Deep and Bumrah update, on India vs Pakistan, warning to ENG
'To middle the ball and still get bowled, the way we were batting together, I was feeling confident and thought I will not get out today. But it was unlucky and it was heartbreaking because the result could have been entirely different,' he added.

The dramatic Test at Lord's also saw emotions boil over, with Siraj's aggressive approach in the final innings drawing attention — especially his exchanges with England's batters, including a pointed jibe at Joe Root.
"There are no plans regarding this. When you are bowling, you are in another zone; your focus is on taking wickets, so you don't know what you say. You want to divert the batter — like when I asked Root, 'Where is the Bazball?'"
When asked whether he'll continue with the same fiery energy in the fourth Test, Siraj responded without hesitation: 'yes.'

Jaiswal, who had been batting solidly for his 58 off 106 balls, tried to defend but misread the subtle drift. The ball went on with the arm instead of turning, catching the outside edge and flying straight into the safe hands of Harry Brook at first slip. Dawson's joyous celebration reflected both relief and triumph, marking a significant milestone in his career. The dismissal was not just about statistics; it was about persistence and hard work paying off. Watch: Ravichandran Ashwin , watching Dawson's performance, lauded the English spinner on social media. IND vs ENG 4th Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal's acrobatic shot leaves Jofra Archer baffled

Yashasvi Jaiswal manages to hit a boundary as he ducks under a short ball from Jofra Archer (Photo by) India have got off to a solid start in the penultimate Test of the five-match series, thanks to the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul . While Rahul showed off his elegance and class in the first session, looking in fine touch, Jaiswal too, kept his nerve and rode out a tricky period. As the first session came to a close, Jaiswal took centre stage as he acrobatically deflected a rather awkward delivery from England pacer Jofra Archer . Viral clips on X show the India batter attempting to dodge a delivery from Archer, bending backwards significantly so that the ball doesn't hit him. While the commentators voiced that Jaiswal's intention was not to play a shot and avoid making contact, it ended up hitting his bat and racing towards the boundary. While Jaiswal's stunning shot, be it intentional or not, evoked a light-hearted reaction from Archer. The England pacer, who returned to the Test setup in the previous match at Lord's, posted a surprised look on his face as his lethal delivery raced down the ground for a boundary. While England celebrated the wicket of KL Rahul in the early moments of the second session, Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan will look to build on the opening partnership and help India to a formidable total. Sudharsan was included in the playing XI at the expense of Karun Nair, who had replaced him earlier after his rather subdued display in the opening Test of the series. The previous Test saw India come heartbreakingly close to a win, but ended up falling 22 runs short. Poll What did you think of Jaiswal's acrobatic shot against Archer? Pure skill Lucky mishit With tweaks to the line-up and desperation among the players to level the series, the penultimate Test will prove to be a fierce encounter, much like the one at Lord's.
